General Appearance: First and foremost, yes! Hatsu dyes his hair frequently. His hair is naturally dark brown. He used to dye it black until one day he went drastic and decided to bleach it. So while his hair is almost white-blonde, his eyebrows are a dark brown colour. His eyes are such a dark colour that most people just say they’re black. His facial features resemble that of his sister, so it’s easy to tell that they’re related in some way.
Hatsu stands at approximately 5’11. Because he works out all the time, he’s incredibly fit and it shows. There is clear muscle definition in his entire body, but especially his legs due to years of athletics training. Despite all that, he still has a thin form due to his natural body shape. His skin is naturally pale, and he’s never really been the kind of guy to want to get a tan, so he likes it like that.
In terms of normal clothing, Hatsu wears a lot of black, grey and white. He isn’t really into wearing colour that often. He likes to ensure that he looks good, so his clothes are always perfectly fitted to his slightly thinner than average form. Dress shirts and jackets are always good, especially in tandem with incredibly fitted slacks. On more casual days he prefers fitted long sleeve shirts in faded or neutral shades. Work out gear normally involves track pants, singlets and sneakers.
Personality: Hatsu is a straight forward individual. He’s a quick thinker when it comes to things like problem solving and philosophy; but he’d never try to match Vincent in that department. He thinks logically about work but is very impulsive in his personal life. While normally he’s a very calm person by nature, it should be noted that Hatsu believes that sometimes violence is the answer. When it needs to be, that is.
He’s a very energetic person by nature; always moving about or doing something. Sometimes one might say that he struggles to sit still, but his family are used to that. Hatsu likes trying out new things and places, as he can at times get bored with a normal routine. Sometimes he can get a little distracted if another thought crosses into his head, as he feels like he must voice that before he loses it. He’s extremely athletic and enjoys playing all kinds of sports. It’s normally very easy for him to pick up a new sport on the spot. A few swings of a bat and he’s like a pro at baseball. That kind of thing. At any rate, Hatsu believes that keeping fit, working out and eating healthy are important things in life.
Hatsu is very protective of his sister and the females in his family. He is used to talking to his family as often as he possibly can, as family is incredibly important to him. When he learned he was an uncle it was one of the proudest days of his life, and he adores both his nieces as if they were his own. He would likely do anything that they asked him to. It was one of the reasons that he felt drawn to moving over to America in the first place.

History
Hatsu the second and last child born into his family. His sister was only a year old at the time of his birth. From the time he was born his parents seemed to adore him more than his sister, likely due to the fact that she was born an albino. At the age of five his parents started fighting. This escalated for two years until one day they came home to find their mother was just... Gone. Their furious father started tearing the house to pieces, and he and his sister hid away until they were sure it was over. Weeks went by and there was no proof that their mother was returning, so their father turned on them.
Her disappearance had turned him into an alcoholic and he started beating both his children. Nakia was completely selfless, and forced Hatsu to hide when she knew their father was coming to beat them. She took those beatings alone for years.
Hatsu found a way to escape it, throwing himself completely into sports and athletics. His sister had taken the abuse for the both of them for so long that he had become determined to get himself stronger so he could defend her. He was fifteen when he came home to find their father beating Nakia again. This time however, he decided to strike him with a baseball bat to the head as hard as he could. When he rushed to his sister’s side, he watched as she seemed to take on the same wound he had just given their father. And his was gone. Unsure of what to do, the two fled the house and went to the first place they could think of; the hospital. What happened next was like a whirlwind. The doctors called a recruiter and they wanted to take Nik away because she was a meta. He had worried that they would separate them, but instead they extended the offer to him as well. They moved the next day.
Sure enough, his abilities manifested within a year of joining the school. He started to seemingly receive mental messages that identified what people’s abilities were that were nearby. This was a painstaking thing for him to try to control, as the thought traffic was incredibly intense when he first started gaining access to the information. He spent a great deal of his time at the school in a more recluse way, studying away from people until he learned how to understand and control the mental traffic when in large crowds. Fortunately, this meant he graduated school with high grades.
After graduating, Hatsuharu went to university in the hopes of gaining a teaching degree. He knew he wanted to help people, but he was never entirely sure how. So that seemed like a logical thing to do. Hatsu was nineteen when his sister got married. While at first he was sceptical about the whole thing, he’d never had a problem with Vincent; the guy seemed decent and honest, and had promised to look after his sister. Hatsu graduated University with a degree in secondary education, majoring in History and English. He started teaching not long afterwards, but he found it an unfulfilling career.
By keeping in contact with the Recruiter who saved him, he realised that his goal became all about helping people who were in the same position as he was. So he decided that he wanted to become a Recruiter. Hatsuharu stayed around the school and trained himself up in order to be strong enough to take on the position. The nature of his abilities helped as well. When he started to recruit individuals who needed him, he realised that this line of work was much more fulfilling than what he had previously been doing.
When his family moved to Vermont, Hatsuharu assured them that he would be fine on his own. And for a while he was. But the distance has started to make him more than just uncomfortable.
