General Appearance: Monroe is 5'11, a bit on the thin side and has shaggy brown hair that he refuses to cut as it is growing out past his chin. He usually wears a beanie over it if it gets too messy. He has brown eyes and never goes anywhere without his combat boots on.
Personality: Monroe, in a nutshell, is a bit eccentric. He has a sarcastic sense of humor and is very articulate and lively. He takes pride in how he dresses, but likes to keep his hair messy and a little longer. It drove his mother crazy, but he likes it. It just seemed to fit him. He's pretty amicable for the most part, a little mysterious when you don't know him that well. Most people find his behavior strange, for he tends to say weird things and keep his distance from people because he doesn't like knowing things about their inner desires and turmoil that come out in their dreams. It's awkward. He often makes jokes about his ability saying "Everybody dreams about me" just to act as if it doesn't bother him.
He comes off as apathetic, lazy and uncaring because he's always so exhausted and he hates that he comes off that way, because it's not who he really is, but years of dealing with his power have made him that way.
He's mostly private and keeps to himself like his mother when it comes to personal matters or thoughts and only divulges them to people he really trusts. He's the kind of guy that is neutral on a lot of things. He finds conflict annoying and would rather just be carefree and throw random colors of paint on a canvas.
Your Vices
Likes: the color black, skateboarding, hats, combat boots, cold weather, sketching
Dislikes: Not being able to control his ability, knowing too much about others, things that are way too practical like math, alarm clocks, really strict rules, people who are closed-minded.
Strengths: drawing, staying neutral, deep thinker, carefree, intuitive
Weaknesses: academics, staying awake in class, dealing with conflict, dealing with girls
Fears: knowing things he doesn't want to know about other people, losing his mind from lack of sleep, not making something of himself
Secret: he doesn't really have a secret, he's fairly open, but he probably knows everyone else's secrets...

Mother: Nora Montgomery
Siblings: A twin sister, Eloise, who he doesn't know exists
Any Other Important People: n/a
History
For as long as Monroe can remember, he's lived with his mother in Maine, who makes a living as a child psychologist. They made ends meet as she had a fairly good job, but she was still a single mother. They've always gotten along for the most part, but Monroe always got the feeling that she kept a lot of things hidden from him. He never knew his father and his mother never really talked about him. He was on the threshold of puberty when he first dreamwalked and life wasn't nearly the same anymore-- not all skateboarding and heavy metal concerts. Within a few weeks, he was scoped out and while he really, really didn't want to go, he's now stuck at Hammel.
Roleplay Example
Monroe was walking back from Tim Horton's, a cup of piping hot coffee in his hands. He needed it, especially lately. Sleep was not easy to come by and it seemed that more and more people liked to fall asleep in the library, so it wasn't an easy place for him to catch a nap anymore. He'd told himself that he'd check up on Adaryn if she didn't come to him after a few days. He got the feeling that even if she was seeing Cain again, that she wasn't going to tell him. She seemed much to selfless for that. Besides, he needed to talk to Ella again anyway and since the two of them were roommates, it only made sense.
The path was dark from Cranbrook back to Veritas, and he couldn't help but get the feeling that somebody was lurking behind him in the shadows, following him back, but he knew he was probably just ultra paranoid. But with each step, hearing the sound of his combat boots hitting the ground, he still felt as if he wasn't the only one out here. It was a windy night and he pulled his hoodie tighter around him as he continued his trek forward. He only stopped when he heard a voice, like a whisper, but dark and low.
"You are the first dreamwalker I've encountered in a while. Pesky people they are, always getting in the way. They don't last very long, not when I am around."
He turned around, eyes darting in all directions as if looking for something, but he found nothing and instead, picked up his pace, his boots clambering on the cobblestone path. He'd almost convinced himself he'd imagined it by the time he got back to Veritas and was greeted by the warm air of the dorms. He knocked on the door to the dorm room of Adaryn and Eloise and waited, still stealing glances behind him.
