Play By: Ian SomerhalderLet it F L O W . . .Leo was born a large family, the first boy amongst what would be seven children in a large Louisiana family. He lived on a good-sized piece of property, played with his siblings, and lived a normal life. There were the occasional sibling rivalry, but all in all, Leo loved his brothers and sisters very much.
It was when he was thirteen, and in school when he heard the first voice. It was very familiar and sounded like the voice of Annie, a girl that he had a tiny crush on, but the story he heard was heartbreaking. She was being abused at home and having nightmares, afraid of going home back to her drunk stepfather. When class was let out, Leo went and told a teacher about Annie, not knowing any better, and when she asked how he’d known these things, he’d responded with the only explanation he could:
“I heard it in my head.”
Eventually his parents heard about the incident and sat him down for a long talk, telling him that people didn’t hear voices in their heads, afraid that their son was slowly going insane. Leo protested, telling them that he was hearing voices all the time, and the closer he was to them, the louder they became. He spewed secrets about his friends, his siblings…even telling his mother that his father had purchased a diamond ring for his mother for their anniversary. When it turned out to be true, his parents packed him up and sent him to a mental institution, fearing the worst.
He wasn’t even in the place for a week when someone came to him, an older gentleman from a place called Hammel. Fearing it was another institute for the mentally insane, Leo protested going with him until he heard the man’s thoughts and knew that he was telling the truth, that he’d learn to control his powers there, that he was special. He went with the older gentleman to this school of gifted children, and it was there that he learned he had telepathy.
The sting of his parents’ rejection of him as a boy because he was different carried into his later teen years, shaping him from an innocent boy into an angry young man who despised rules and really anyone else who tried getting close to him. Over six years, he learned how to master and hone his powers, but not for the greater good as some wanted to believe. He became a player of women, prying into their minds and uncovering their fantasies, their desires, and he got quite a reputation for such a feat. He still slips control sometimes, hearing secrets and other information that he’d rather not listen to.
However, within that angry mess of his mind, he had a heart to help other kids overcome their trials and tribulations, so that they could be normal. When he graduated Hammel, he asked to stay on as a trainer, and he began helping kids with similar powers close to his own. Now at twenty-six, he’s helped a lot of kids overcome the pressure of hearing the voices in their heads, or any mental powers really, but he still continues to be a hardass whenever he’s not training kids. Relationships? Please; the boy only wants to get in your pants and then be gone, so good luck trying to snag him.Behind the M A S K . . .Name: Mandi

Summer was usually hot, and this summer was no different. The sun rose over the small farm and outlined the forms of man and dog as they walked to the mare barns. The dog was a blue merle Australian Shepherd named Jackie who pranced at her owner’s side with her tongue lolling, eyes bright and excited for chores to begin. The man was six feet three inches of broad-shouldered, solidly muscled cowboy, a faded brown Stetson on his tousled dirty blonde hair, Montana sky-blue eyes set over a handsome face with the shadow of a beard on his strong jaw. He wore an open flannel shirt over a white wife beater and jeans tucked into boots, large hands pulling on gloves before he opened the doors, grinning when he heard the welcomes from the horses inside.
“Good morning, ladies,” he said in a smoky drawl, making the mares whinny louder as he walked the stalls. Jackie barked once and the mares quieted as he measured out their breakfasts. He smiled as he patted the last mare before opening the other set of doors and heading down to the stud barn. The stallions, geldings, and yearling colts gave him warm welcomes as he fed them also, saving his favorite for last. Tall, darkly handsome, Troy was Cody’s pride and joy, waiting for him at the end of the aisle for his breakfast. Cody entered the stall and fed his stallion, stroking the horse’s flank as Troy fed. “Any trouble in the barns tonight, boy?”
The bay stallion lifted his head and pressed his nose into Cody’s chest. “Not last night, boss,” the horse replied in a quiet whicker. “The boys can smell the mares in heat though, and so can I.”
Cody grinned and stroked his horse’s nose. “Don’t worry, ya’ll will have a turn with the lovely ladies. It seems that Bella took well to the last time you two met. She’s expecting.”
Troy whinnied quietly and went back to his breakfast, letting Cody exit the stall and get to work on his chores. Bella, Charlene, and Missy were let out in the small pasture today, since they were the three who were in foal, while the other three mares and the lone filly went into the bigger pasture with the geldings. The three yearling colts were put by themselves into one of the side fields and the stallions, three in all including Troy, were put into separate paddocks on opposite sides of the farm. After all the stalls were clean and the tack was mended, the water tower looked at and the fences mended, Cody sat on the front step of the farmhouse with Jackie at his side and sighed happily. This was the life he wanted.
Now all he had to do was tend the cattle. He sighed again, this time the sound weary. Cattle were so complicated.
