Basically, Jasper can put himself and others to sleep or keep them awake. Since he is still learning, his power does not always give people all the necessary sleep cycles and people can still be awakened by outside forces, because of this he usually only uses it to help people get to sleep.
Side effects: Fatigue, Migraines, Dizziness, sometimes causes messed up sleep schedule which, in turn, causes hunger at odd times

General Appearance:
Jasper is fairly tall, standing at 6’1”. He has a medium build, with some muscle, but not much. He has white skin, with few blemishes. His hair is short, curly and brown. He has a strong jaw, large, blue eyes and arched eyebrows. He gets dimples when he smiles. Personally, he likes the color of his eyes the best.
Jasper wears jeans and plain t-shirts all the time, except when he’s sleeping, then he wears t-shirts and pj bottoms. He hates dressing up and prefers to be casual all the time. He has a habit of running his fingers through his hair and he carries himself like he doesn't care.
Personality:
Jasper would like to think he’s completely apathetic, but the truth is he cares a lot about his friends and family. He would do anything to protect the ones he loves. He likes intelligent and honest people and can’t stand liars or people with major egos. He doesn't have a good reputation with authority, mostly because he can’t help but make smartass comments and slack off. He has a tough shell and is a very private person, but once you break through the exterior he’s a great friend. Jasper is a Buddhist, like his mother, but views it as more of a way of life rather than a religion. If you need him, he’s probably sleeping.

History
Jasper was born to a wealthy businessman and a new age, Buddhist artist in San Francisco, California. His parents had a normal marriage, happy, with a few fights here and there. They live in a modest house, with his mother, Angel’s, paintings scattered across the walls. His grandmother was nearby as well, always spouting bouts of wisdom and hitting people in the back of the head for being foolish. Jasper was raised to be honest and humble in the Buddhist lifestyle. This didn't stop him from being a lazy smart aleck. He was always an itelligent person, and got good grades, when he wasn't slacking off.
His power manifested when he was fourteen. At first he noticed he could go to sleep and wake up whenever he wanted. Then, two days later, things reached a climax. All that day he had an itch he couldn't scratch, it felt like something building up inside him. One harsh remark from a teacher about his laziness later and his power was released. Suddenly, most of the class was asleep. He panicked inside, thinking he’d killed them. One of the students screamed and everyone jolted awake. He was called to the front office where he was sent home for the day, with a notice that an official would come to see them. The same day the Hammel official showed up at their house. His parents were very supportive and helped him get ready for Hammel. He felt kind of scared of his power and about going to a new school.
His years at Hammel so far were fun. The hardest thing to learn was not to be scared of his power. He recently learned how to use his power one more than one specific person. His social life has not been very active, but enough to be healthy. Though, he’s never been on a date or been intimate with anyone yet. The grades that he turned in were A's, but since he doesn't do all of his homework, he’s not anywhere near the top of the class.
