The Basics
Name: Midori Inneah Hawkins (shut up, her parents got a little creative with their only daughter)
Nicknames: Mii
Age: 24
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Hammel Staff - Recruiter
Powers: Shapeshifting - Can shift into anything, or anyone. Animals, inanimate objects, fellow students. Great for spying. Not that she’d actually do that. She doesn’t actually shapeshift often, anymore. Sometimes, to entertain her niece, she’ll turn into a cat, or something cute and furry. Thankfully, her family isn’t meta-phobic. In fact, her middle brother tends to wonder why she doesn’t use her ability to her advantage. On occasion, she’ll shift just for the hell of it. Into a sparrow, to fly, into a dog, just because she can. She gets muscle aches after shifting, especially if it was a new form for her to take, and if she’s not paying enough attention, she can’t phase back right away. Her absolute max weight limit is about 60 lbs, and mammals. Always mammals.
Play By: Natalie Portman
The Details
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Any Piercings? Just her earlobes, once
Any Tattoos? No.
Any Scars? No.
General Appearance:
As Mary-Sue as it sounds, pretty though she is, good luck getting Midori to agree with you. She is a person that prefers staying away from the spotlight. Most positive attention is responded to in the same manner. A soft ‘thanks,’ a blush, and her finding an excuse to be elsewhere. She doesn’t do a lot in terms of make up, and definitely doesn’t dress to impress the vast majority of the male population.
Mii isn’t monstrously tall. For a female, she’s fairly average in height, standing at 5’8”. She’s slender, not anorexic, though unlike most of the girls she knows, she fails to show it off. Mini skirts and shirts that fail to cover her midsection have no place in her closet. Not that it stops her friends from kidnapping her, dressing her up, and taking her to a club on a Friday night. She just doesn’t enjoy it.
Left to her own devices, Midori’s clothing tastes are fairly simple. Casually speaking, she is usually in jeans (but not those horrible skinny jeans), and a t-shirt, usually with some kind of print on it. Beat up sneakers are usually jammed on her feet, and her hair is often held back in a messy ponytail.
When on recruiting trips, she is often dressed in a more professional manner. Namely, a pretty blouse and skirt combination, or something along those lines. Business trips usually have her straightening her hair, or doing something marginally more interesting than a ponytail.
And no, she’s not giving you her measurements. Sorry.
Personality:
Some people might think Mii’s a little stuck up, too involved with her own life to bother talking to others. This couldn’t be further from the truth. She’s a naturally quiet young woman, and never quite knows how to make the first move when meeting new people. She’s willing to talk, though. Quietly at first, once she warms up to you, she’s happy to talk about almost anything.
She’s practical, and diplomatic. This aids her in her new role of recruiting for Hammel. She is often able to calm a panicking parents with the voice of reason, and speaking of her own time at the school. This also tends to come in handy when attempting to diffuse an argument between friends. Mii does her best to stay neutral and all that, but it doesn’t always work.
Mii is a compassionate woman. Yes, she’ll cry over sad books or movies, and whatever you do, don’t let her roam the local animal shelter. She’s a good listener, and has spent many a time comforting a newly dumped friend. She always tries to be there for them, even if they aren’t always there for her.
Don’t get her wrong. She isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. She’s got a temper, and when it raises it’s head, it’s not something to take lightly. You mess with her family, or her friends, and you will have an angry shapeshifter on your hands. Simple as that. She is fiercely protective of her loved ones.

History
Preceded by two older brothers, Midori is the baby of her family. She was raised in the warm, loving environment. Her eldest brother, Corbin, took to protecting her at an early age, playing with her, reading to her, everything a big brother should do. Her middle brother, Zachary, on the other hand, wasn’t so thrilled with the new addition to the family. He took more joy in teasing his sister, and often caught shit for it. Not from his parents, but mostly from Corbin.
Despite her brother’s antagonism, she still grew up a happy little girl. It was a fairly ideal life. Two big brothers to love and protect her (or pick on her, in Zach’s case), loving parents, an assortment of pets over the years. Really, there wasn’t much to say about her childhood years. She idolized her oldest brother, and followed him everywhere, and often curled up in his lap while he was doing homework – a habit that carried over a tad longer than it should have, but Corbin never could tell her no.
The first occurrence of her power wasn’t exactly smooth, or even conscious. One moment, a thirteen year old Midori was watching the family dog play in the backyard, and the next, she had four legs, fur, and no idea how to work them. Corbin had witnessed it, and, thankfully, kept calm. Meta-humans could crop up anywhere. He knew that. So, he just sat with his sister and waited for her to shift back. Then came the difficult talk, and it was quickly clear that this was the first time it had happened. The biggest problem was, he didn’t know how to deal with it. Didn’t meta-humans go to special school, or something? Because he didn’t know, he decided it was best to keep it quiet, and just be there for his sister if it happened again.
It was actually a blood test that proved helpful. During the yearly war to drag Midori to the doctor (she was scared of them – childish, but just part of who she is), she was flagged at the lab as a meta-human. It wasn’t long before Hammel sought her out. Though it killed her to leave her family behind, she knew training would be important. Thankfully, her recruiter was a nice person. It made the transition easier.
At Hammel, she studied. She trained. She learned to control her shapeshifting. Though there were many incidents she got “stuck” for a while, skill with shifting back came with practice. Though shy, she was a sweet thing, and befriended a few people. Some, she kept in touch with after she graduated. Some were gone, but not entirely forgotten when she left the institute at nineteen.
Mii moved back home again, and started working reception in one of the local businesses. It wasn’t difficult, though some days she found herself missing Hammel. She missed being able to be herself. Back in the “real world”, she knew metas weren’t as widely accepted, and it depressed her a little. It took her nearly six years before she made her decision. She applied for a job as a recruiter for Hammel. She could remember what it was like, to be told you were “different.” She wanted to help these kids make the leap from human society to the institute. Her application was accepted, and she’s become Pilot Ridge’s newest citizen, as well as Hammel’s newest recruiter.
