General Appearance: When it comes to appearances, Brad Wright is a very average guy. He’s not very tall, currently reaching around 5’7, and can be best described as lanky and slim. He is slightly awkward looking, with rather big ears that stick out, and a boyish grin. Although he is somewhat geeky, he dresses himself rather well in a preppy way, preferring jeans, t-shirts, khakis and polos shirts, and can occasionally be spotted wearing suspenders, and every once in awhile, bow-ties. His hair is somewhat long on top, falling into his eyes and glasses, and short on the back and sides.
He does like to take good care of himself, and is meticulous about his hygiene. He brushes his teeth after every meal if possible, he combs his hair often. He takes two showers a day, and is constantly washing his hands-- and insists that he doesn’t have OCD. He keeps his nails trimmed, his face clean shaven, and can only be seen looking sloppy when he’s alone in his room. Or, when he’s in a depressed state from taking to dead people too long, but…that only happens once in a blue moon.
Personality:
Brad can be best described as a bit of a dork. He doesn’t drink or smoke, and he definitely doesn’t do drugs, considering that he prefers to be at home with his books than hanging out with other people. Although he isn’t the most sociable person, Brad can be friendly and awfully considerate of other people. In fact, people usually walk all over him, because he’s too nice, and slightly bit naïve about people’s intentions. And besides, he talks to dead people-- and is a bit paranoid that if he’s mean to anyone, they’ll harass him when they die.
Having the ability to channel the dead has affected Brad in a lot of ways. He doesn’t believe in God, or Heaven and Hell, because he knows that what after life is out there is just sticking to places that you loved when you’re alive and watching your loved ones go one without you. When Brad thinks about this, he becomes depressed and withdraws from people, even those that he loves.
Brad is rather dedicated-- he stays focused on tasks and goals until he finishes them. He is the kind of guy that always stays true to his word, finishes his homework, and eats all of his food, but that doesn’t mean that he’s perfect. Actually, his dedication to completing stuff makes him stress out, and he often feels inadequate when he CAN’T finish something, or when he doesn’t have control over something-- like his gift.

History
Like everything else about Brad, his life until coming to Hammel has been pretty normal and lack luster…except for when he started to talk to the dead. He was thirteen when he discovered this gift while he was at a friend’s house. He was spending the night there when he was approached by an old woman who previously owned the house before going to a nursing home, but he thought that she was his friend’s grandmother, not realizing that she was a spirit.
Of course, he was wrong, and the old woman’s spirit set him straight and began to tell him about how she passed away-- and beg him to go and track down her grandchildren. After this happened, Brad told his parents, and they thought that he was kidding. He had another experience like this, but when he told his parents that it happened again, they decided that their son had ‘serious emotional problems’ and took him to a psychiatrist. This is something that he refuses to tell people at Hammel Institute.
Before coming Hammel, Brad went to an upper class public school, where he was on both the track and baseball team. He loves running, especially cross-country, and is somewhat good at baseball-- but could never quite become the All-Star All-American athlete that his father wanted him to become. This is why he is so scared of failure; he doesn’t want to disappoint his father anymore, and sees his having an ability as a negative thing, along with not being the son his father wanted.
Roleplay Example
This is a post from another site:
Evan wasn't exactly sure what the heck was up with him lately. He had met this girl, who was...well, really cute, and she was...adorable. Really adorable. And he knew that whatever feelings he was having for Aimee...well...they were kind of like the feelings he had for Susan, but those feelings weren't right. Susan was his friend, maybe even one of his best friends, but that mean that....even if he did have one of those crushes on her, he couldn't act on it or anything, and..HE WAS NO READY TO DEAL WITH THIS.
Besides, it wasn't like girls would like HIM of all people. He was rude and brash and he didn't care at all about his clothes and was a mess and he was an absolute MONSTER most of the time. Although Evan didn't really care about what other people thought of him, he was quite aware of what they thought. And it wasn't good, and girls like Aimee and Sue were quite and adorable and kind of weird like how he liked him didn't like dung heads like him.
Oh. Someone was talking to him? Crap, it was Lei. And she wanted to know if he was okay. And well, Lei WAS older and a girl right? So she knew what girls liked, and about weird feeling, right? "Uh," Evan sighed, slightly frustrated. "Not really. I'm confused about...stuff."
