"Great pose, smile just a little less. Look directly into the camera." The orders came quickly and the brunette hardly had time to make the corrections before the camera started flashing through pictures. She was a little overwhelmed but eventually, the photographer got the pictures he wanted. After the pictures were taken, she was led quickly over to a chair, where a reporter was waiting.
"Mrs. LaRousse, great to meet you. I've read so much about you, you're book was absolutely fantastic." The woman gushed, but the brunette could tell the woman hadn't read the book at all, her words lacked any real sincerity.
"Oh thank you, you are much too kind." Ann replied, despite wanting to call the woman out on it. The little red light on the video camera let her know they were being recorded.
"So, tell us. How did the two of you meet? I can't imagine winning the heart of Zachary LaRousse was easy." The woman smiled. Ann wanted to tell her a bit of her lip stick got onto her teeth, but Ann refrained.
"I actually couldn't get him to leave me alone, when we met. He was fascinated in me, because I didn't want anything to do with him. At a valentine's day dance, he punched the boy I was with in the face. I didn't talk to him at all after that. But when he was in college..." Ann shrugged as she thought about it. Alex had asked her to marry him and she had freaked out. She had run into Zac later that week, and well he had changed. He wasn't immature and he was a good friend to her. She broke it off with Alex because she wasn't ready for marriage and the two of them were still friends--albeit distant ones.
Zac had been a good friend to her during that time and eventually..in Ann's junior year, the two of them hooked up and dated on and off. When she graduated, Zac had presented her with her graduation present: a dojang, for her to instruct Taekwondo. It had been perfect, it had everything she needed--all top of the line equipment--and some things she didn't even need. She started teaching, with Zac's family's best accountants running the business side of it, it was a quick success. After the first six months, she had over seventy children and thirty or more adults taking classes more than three days a week.
They dated at a distance for a while, Zac randomly showering her with gifts and the two of them casually seeing other people. After he graduated college, he'd asked her to propose in the most outlandish and expensive way possible. Ann had decided it was a good decision and the two had gotten married when Ann was twenty-six, and Zac was twenty-five. The wedding got national attention.
It had been three years, Ann had written a few books that gained both meta, and women's attention. They explained her struggles with her powers and her difficulty with becoming normal, or even a shadow of it, and how great her life became once she did get control. Just as well, all of her training and what that led her to be able to do.
She was very much in love with Zac, of that she was sure. He was everything she could ever hope to have, as a husband. She smiled at the woman as she basically told her the same thing, answering all the questions the woman asked.
"So how about kids? Has there been any sort of discussion about it?" The woman tilted her head to the side with interest, but Ann shook her head.
"No, we haven't breached the matter. He doesn't seem to interested in the idea of kids yet, at least to me. I'm not ready for that sort of thing anyway." Ann laughed faintly, which got a small chuckle from the reporter.
"Beautiful. We wish you all the best of luck. I'll let you go now, because from what I've told it is time to fly to L.A., right?"
"Oh yes, we are in the negotiating stage of a project--I'm not allowed to give a lot of details about it." Ann winked faintly and the woman acted disappointed for a moment then signed off with her signature slogan and then Ann was released. On the way out of the building, she spotted the limo that was waiting for her and went to climb in, expecting Zac to be inside waiting for her. She smiled when he climbed out to help her in.
"How was it?"
"Boring, as usual." He laughed and kissed her on the temple.
"Well that is one down, and that's one step closer to taking over the world, Mrs. LaRousse."
"Hush, and rub my feet. This is the last time I am wearing heels, I swear."
