The Basics
Name: Jamie Randall
Nicknames: Jay
Age: 17
Orientation: Homosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Teleportation: Jamie thought he was dreaming when he ended up in the ball pit of an arcade downtown one night. But he wasn't. Of course, at that time, he certainly believed he was dreaming and didn't notice right away when he promptly fell back asleep... right in the ball pit. It was a shock to the system when he woke up in the morning to find himself still in the ball pit. He rightfully freaked and frantically jumped out of the pit when a worker who was opening up the place discovered him. Both Jamie and the worker were sure having a stressful day; Jamie had no idea how he got there, and the worker thought that someone must've closed with the poor kid in there. They promptly called his parents, who were already awake and frightened by the fact that their son was been missing from his bed. They didn't expect the series of events that would follow that week.

The Details
Hair Color: Dark brown, though it may look black in poorly lit rooms.
Eye Color: Brown.
Any Piercings? No.
Any Tattoos? No.
Any Scars? No.
General Appearance: Jamie is of about average height for a male his age. He's neither obscenely tall nor what one would consider short. He has short to medium length dark brown hair, and that's depending on his laziness to cut it. He also has brown eyes, and is fair skinned. He is relatively in shape and healthy.
Jamie likes to dress casual, like any typical teenage boy you may meet. Jeans and a t-shirt are all this boy needs, though he isn't without taste. During some social gatherings, Jamie can be seen wearing collared shirts and jackets. He still loves his jeans though. Jamie is also quite hygienic and showers at least every other day.
Personality: Jamie is a friendly, outgoing, and fun loving sort of teenager. He enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing video games, and pulling pranks on occasion. Jamie is a relatively book-smart kid, but he tends to slack off on his work. Its not that he doesn't get it done, its that he procrastinates. Which usually causes more stress than just getting it done and out of the way might have.
Jamie is a very indoor person, ever since dealing with controlling his power. It made him afraid, to an extent, of where he might end up, so he always felt safe inside familiar places. In being an indoorsy type, Jamie clung to playing video games, reading, writing, building things with blocks or Legos, and such things. With his love for video games, he also loves junk food and caffeinated sodas. Regardless of seemingly unhealthy eating habits, he's managed to keep a healthy looking body despite all of the junk food and caffeine he consumes. How it feels, though, tends to be another story.
Jamie dislikes conflict and tries very hard not get into physical fights but, of course, sometimes even an ordinarily passive person has their limits. Its hard, but get him angry enough and he'll yell, possibly kick, or hit things. Its pretty difficult to get him angry, though. He likes to think that he's a pretty laid back individual, but he's the most strung up when he's left to his own devices.
Jamie also discovered earlier in his time at Hammel that he has no attraction to females in the slightest. He realized that he was gay; he was attracted to males, of course. It might've been slightly harder for him to come to such terms if he weren't already having to deal with being a meta-human and training his power, but it was small potatoes compared to what mattered, and that was keeping his Teleportation in check. When he came out to his family at the age of fourteen, he got a typical spiel. "Is it just a phase?" for a while there, when before long Jamie made sure to make it clear that it wasn't. After that point, his father took it surprisingly better than his mother, who was more disappointed in what she saw as not getting any grandchildren. Regardless, at the end of the day, his parents generally accepted him, powers, attractions, and all. His sister, on the other hand, just used that as more fuel to the fire that was her resentment of her brother after Jamie was admitted to Hammel.

Strengths: Sleeping, writing, building things, procrastination, hand-eye coordination.
Weaknesses: Seasonal allergies, procrastination (for its a double-edged sword), running or hiding away from problems, bottling up bad emotions, not having clear goals.

History
It was a chilly yet sunny day, seventeen years ago, when Jamie Johnathan Randall was born in Spokane, Washington, to parents Evan and Lucinda [nee Parks] Randall. He was the second of two children, his sister Ella being four years his elder. While Lucinda's pregnancy with Ella was unexpected, Jamie's was expected and much more well prepared for. Basically, they wanted to try for a boy and they got their wish. Not that they didn't desire Ella, of course, as they had always loved and cherished both of their offspring.
As a young four year old girl, Ella was a bit precocious and afraid that Jamie would get all of the limelight, but Evan and Lucinda reassured her that they would always be there for her and, to cement this fact, reminded her that she could be a dutiful older sister. The girl took well to this role throughout most of Jamie's childhood.
From when Jamie was born, his parents were quite well off, well to do individuals, seeing as they were both in their early thirties, even, by the time he was conceived. Evan worked as a librarian and Lucinda worked as a guidance counselor at a local community college. Ella began elementary school around this time, further boosting her status as older sister and eldest in the household.
Life got on well for the Randalls while Jamie was a young child. He was fairly well behaved and got along well with his sister Ella, especially when he hadn't brothers to fight with. He was an outgoing young boy and made friends easily once he began elementary school at the age of five, attending Wielden Elementary. He had a few close neighborhood friends that he would habitually let come over and play throughout his time at Wielden. One of his best friends was a boy named Ray, who often traded video games with Jamie when one or the other was finished with one.
When Jamie was in sixth grade, though, shortly after a particular incident at a downtown arcade, the Randalls were met by a recruiter from Hammel after a call from Jamie's school. Turns out, someone on staff at Wielden caught wind of said incident through the student rumor mill and had their suspicions. They called for a recruiter who came to explain that they believed that their son Jamie may have special powers. At first, like most parents learning that their child was a meta-human, or any sort of different than they'd known for years before, it was hard for Evan and Lucinda to believe much less come to terms with his gift, but with enough explanation and consolation from the recruiter, they consented to test Jamie for his power. The tests subsequently confirmed that Jamie was capable of teleporting, and strongly convinced his family that, for his and their safety, he should be trained to control this power at Hammel. Soon enough, Jamie and his family would be moving to Vermont. After all, a change of scenery couldn't hurt, his father had once said.
This explained some little things that were happening with Jamie, recently. For one, Jamie had started suffering from migraines that week after everything went awry. His parents had scheduled, for him, a doctors appointment for that week, even. It wasn't enough that Jamie had such physical side effects, but that he also thought he was going crazy after having woken up in a ball pit miles from home. He shut himself up in his room the day before the recruiter's visit. This set Jamie's trend for keeping himself indoors or in familiar places. It didn't help that they then had to move to Vermont... but then again, it did.
During this time, sister Ella became distant with her younger brother and expressed fear that he was going to hurt her. She became bitter towards him and would often spit out hurtful things about how he should stay away from her and mom and dad. It didn't help that Ella was just, at that time, in her teenage years, facing changes both physical and mental in herself and her peers. Any chance she could, though, she kept herself busy with whatever she could outside of the home to avoid what was, really, a hidden jealousy that she herself wasn't a meta-human like Jamie was.
Over half a year later, some time after Jamie turned twelve and once the Randalls worked out the logistics of moving to Vermont, Jamie was sent to Hammel. During his first year at Hammel, Jamie was mildly intimidated by the environment around him, despite the fact that he got on just fine at Wielden. There were lots of older students around so it took him some time to adjust, since he'd just come from an elementary school where he was one of the older kids. It didn't help, either, that he still struggled with other things internally, one of those being the bond lost with his sister. Once he matured and got a basic handle on his power, though, he became more comfortable with his surroundings and potential, began to make friends, and found his identity. He quickly gained his confidence, though his place in the world was still marginally undefined up until now.
Roleplay Example
((This is a somewhat old post of my first incarnation of Jamie, from HR.))
The boy skipped along, well, it was more of a half-skip, half-walk. Or, maybe thats what Jamie thought he was doing, but he couldn't know how he came off until he ran into housemate Kaylynn Bowne, rather the Hufflepuff Prefect. It was kind of hard to not know who she was.
"Oh, am I... okay?" Jamie paused for a moment in there, wondering what could've prompted such a question, though he didn't dwell on it for long. He scratched his head, looked at the ground for a moment, and then it dawned on him...
...of course, he didn't think he was going to look like a bit of an odd man out, skipping through the halls. Though lately the boy was all kinds of secure with himself and that, combined with being let out of classes for a spell, surely left him with a sunny disposition that would melt the snowy winter outside.
So with that, he laughed and replied, "Oh, well, sure I am!" Of course, he hesitated to bring up his skipping, and as well as he tried to hide his embarrassment, Jamie had to have reddened in the face a little. "Heh, aren't you glad to be out of class now? At least, I'm glad to be out of that class."
