There was nothing in the world that drove him crazy quite like Clarisse. She was so stylish and beautiful, yet not in the least bit vain. She was kind, caring, and best of all she could put up with all his outer craziness as well as soothe all his inner turmoil that he never let anyone else see. She was the sun in his sky, she wind under his wings, and the peanut butter to his jelly- which reminded him, he was rather hungry. Smiling as she squeezed his hand, he pulled her close and thanked his lucky stars that they were together.
Once the group had disbanded though, Jackeroe was out of his seat like a rocket, waiting only for Clarisse to get up before hightailing it over to the bride in hyperactive way that set a bad example for all the surrounding children. He waited until it was his turn on the list of people Ella was talking to before he was assaulted with a shriek of a question and a hug. Not one to be outdone, he returned it tenfold and picked he up. “It’s so AWESOME.” He said, not bothering to answer her question with a yes or a no. the answer was no of course- he really couldn’t believe they were both married. He thought he was going to end up a bachelor his whole life, scaring women off with his hyperactive persona and ever-changing whims. He expected Ella to get married- she was too wonderful not to find someone special.
Once the introductions were over, Jackeroe kissed Clarisse’s cheek again. “I’ll get us something to eat. And I promise, no jelly.” It was a running joke between them- ever since they had gotten married, Jackeroe often complained jokingly that his food pyramid was screwed up and that he wasn’t getting his required five servings of PB&J sandwiches a week. Once he got to the table he started looking around, picking up a plate as well as a can of soda- he didn’t drink, and Ella was smart enough to provide him and the kids with a cooler full of Pepsi products. He was about to make his way back when someone bumped into him, and when he turned around he discovered it to be Mason.
“Oh hey Mason! No need to be sorry.” He gestured that he still had his drink and plate in hand, so there was no need to worry. Blinking, Jackeroe looked over to Clarisse, smiled, and shrugged. “I don’t think so. I mean, she always looks stunning to me.” He gestured to Flo though, smiling. “But Flo looks amazing. When’s she due again?” Jackeroe loved kids; Mason and Flo’s were no exception.
Noting John had been abandoned by his... Whatever she was, Jackeroe raised his soda can and gestured for him to come over. “Have you met John yet, Mason? He’s my best friend.” That was an utter exaggeration- they just worked in the same department and Jackeroe never seemed to leave him alone. At least the two of them had similar teaching policies.
