Since Brendan had absolutely NO boundaries whatsoever apparently, the idea to go to New York with Vin was one that came to him almost immediately. I mean… Hammel was in Vermont. What the hell was in Vermont? Especially when New York was just oh so close, calling and begging for the two of them to party there instead. Then again, New York was always calling to Bren.
“I can’t believe you’ve never been to New York before. God damn you’re gonna LOVE it!” Of course, this adventure wasn’t without at least some notice to his dad. Being the considerate son he was, he of course called his dad and said he was gonna be in New York. Most likely at least until morning. Tim, of course, sighed. New York usually meant wild times. And wild times sometimes meant jail. And jail ALWAYS meant his loving, doting, and very understanding father coming to bail his sorry ass out.
It had taken a few hours to get to New York City, but they were finally there. And Brendan could wait to get to a New York must. “Ok… It’s stupid and ridiculous and it will be crowded. But! When visiting, the penalty for not attending is death!… Well shame. But since neither of us have any of that…” He let his statement slip into an end without finishing it. And he was intentionally not naming the place.
Of course, they had to park a few blocks away. But that was fine. And Brendan was nearly bouncing up and down with glee at being back. Rounding the corner, the line was as always. If they stood in it, it would be at least a few hours before they were in. He just hoped Jason hadn’t come to his senses yet and gotten himself a real job.
And wouldn’t you know! He hadn’t! “Jaaasoooon! Brendan hollered over the noise, grabbing the man’s hand, then giving him the stereotypical ‘man hug’ with one arm. Chatting for a few minutes, he assured the bouncer that Vin was with him and finally the of them wormed their way in… to the Coyote Ugly
