Everyone had skills. Be it from the ability to just listen, or the ability to strive and succeed, abilities that were apparent to just the one person. Sure they may overlap who and where it was in your personality with others, but the way that these skills were used was what distinguished your characters. That is what Hoshi believed anyway. It wasn't how you did something, it was how you did it. It didn't matter to Hoshi if you were utter crap at something, if you were trying your hardest and you were giving it your all, you earned Hoshi's respect. It wasn't that one had to be the best. It was that they were trying. That was really all that mattered.
Hoshi went quiet as she waited for her companion to speak and reveal just what her hobbies and skills were. Hoshi raised an eyebrow at the silence she was greeted with, it was almost as if Delilah had seemed almost hesitant to tell her. Hoshi had to smile as she was victorious when Delilah finally gave in and started to talk. Hoshi raised an eyebrow herself as Delilah explained what she had done. “ That's...” Hoshi was almost at a loss for words. She knew she could never do that sort of thing, it was not really her cup of tea. The most exercise she really did was exercises and the occasional run. Luckily Hoshi's metabolism was high so it really wasn't a problem. Hoshi smiled as she went to finish her sentence. “Amazing. I know I could never do that. I don't have it in me.” Hoshi readily nodded at the job change. “You should do something you love,” Hoshi gave a small smile and looked over at the persona across from her. “ That is what I do, never really considered anything else.”
Hoshi nodded at the others admission of being single. From the sounds of it she didn't let others in easily, but for some reason Hoshi was different. Hoshi really did admire the woman's earnestness, her truth behind her words. The woman had been nothing up upfront and honest to her and Hoshi appreciated that. Most people today would have made up some lie or another, and tried to cover up what they were talking about. It was interesting that Delilah was becoming someone who was able to tell her the truth. Not many people would do that, at least not in their own admission.
Hoshi thought about her own relationships. They tended to not last long and there was only a small chance. She as described as too cold. Too icy. No one could break her ice palace she had built and it eventually wore them down. It didn't help that none of her family knew that she was a lesbian. Especially when her sister kept setting her up on blind dates. That just made it worse, as she then had to make the men get the idea she wasn't into them without letting her family know. To her family she had extremely high standards. They just didn't understand. It wasn't like her job left many options either. Every once in a while Hoshi would go out to the club. It wouldn't be her normal person, she would be different, and if something happened? So be it.
She understood single, it was her language and there was nothing wrong with it. “There is nothing wrong with being single, many people today are. It is not as if the right one just comes along and shows up out of the blue.” That didn't happen and was in fairy tales. Stuff like that was useless and devoid of any practical purpose. “Life isn't a fairytale.”
