Lazying at the Lake (Kessa)

Paris was beginning to love the days she cut out of class early. It wasn't everyday nor was it super early. At most she did it two days a week and five minutes early. On the days she did it she was only looking to avoid the crowds she knew would litter the hallway if she stayed until the bell. If you possessed her power you'd understand why she didn't feel up to crowds everyday.

Today on this glorious sunny day, she decided to head to the lake. Days like this she loved getting away and immersing herself in nature to draw whatever caught her eye. She'd been sticking close to Hammel since she arrived and was definitely craving the change of scenery.

On her arrival, she was absolutely proud of herself for choosing this location because it was absolutely beautiful. Plenty of things to draw here. Stopping on grass, she laid out her pink hoodie she has nestled in her arms, and dropped down onto it. She wasn't a fan of grass stains. Slipping her satchel bag off her shoulder, she rummaged through it to pull out her sketchpad and utensils.

Her brown eyes focused on an older couple in a boat out on the water and thought it was perfect. It was the simplicity in life that she enjoyed drawing the most. Putting her pencil to pad she began her task. she was well on her way until she sensed a presence standing over her. She looked up to find a red-headed girl.

It was another night without sleep, studying or at least trying to anyway. She knew she had to get her grades up as they had dropped because she refused to sleep or fell asleep in class, there was times she cut class too but that was rare however today she would find herself cutting class today because the day before she had fallen asleep only to be woken by another brave soul student as she was yelling and screaming due to another nightmare. Kessa was beyond embarrassed over the whole situation, she had been there at Hammel for over a year and yet she was sliding deeper and deeper into despair and depression was clearly setting in to the girl.

Today the sun was bright and Kessa needed an escape not only from school but herself. Grabbing her bag and slipping a book into it as well as a notebook, and some colored pencils too, she took her bike from its rack on the closet door, carried it outside, hoped onto it and headed to the lake to her favorite spot even thou that spot was where she had her run in with Ari just months before.

With sun shining off her red hair she would kick herself later for forgetting the sunscreen…again, she swore she would leave it in her bag but each time she would forget it anyway. Shrugging off the forgotten screen she reached the area of the lake that brought joy to her, in the stream she could see an older couple in a boat and smiled at the thought of a nice couple enjoying time together.

Once putting her bike at the edge of the area she would go she only then notices someone there.
Walking up to the girl in her spot she sized her up and went right up to her.
“Excuse me this is my spot” Kessa said softly yet firmly. Her hands on her hips with the wind blowing her hair in her face.

Paris seemed kind of taken aback by the girl's declaration. She didn't know there was assigned seating at a place as public as the lake. If the girl thought she would move, that won't be the case. There is where Paris sat and there is where Paris will remain. Who did the girl think she was?...owner of the park. Pfft. yeah right!

Paris matched the girl's tone with her own firm one." Sorry but I was here first and I wasn't aware of assign seating. I hope it won't be much of a problem if you sat somewhere else today. Right?".

Paris didn't want to start anything but she thought it kind of rude for her to be so territoral in a public place. There is plenty of grass to sit on. Was it a lucky spot she was sitting in?

Paris looked back at the girl and said." I hope this is not how you approach all people".
