20 Questions (Robbie)

[Adrianna Carstyn]

It wasn't being a whore if he was just a friend. Not even a friend, he was a guy she had gone running with for like an hour. All in all, it was no big deal. All they were doing was getting some coffee and hanging out like friends did. Now that things with Talen were going, she had been feeling better. Even with him though, she felt lonely. Adrianna had no one else to really talk to, no one to go to for advice. The one person she had was a jerk that just told her everything bad would happen. Lucah was no help. So, Adrian had taken a risk and asked Robbie to meet her at Kali's café so they could get to know each other a bit better. Who knew? Maybe he'd be the guy she could talk to and go to for advice. He seemed nice enough.

Adrianna was in her Ford Fiesta driving into downtown Pilot Ridge. She wasn't used to being off campus really, only a few times here and there. She looked around for the café and finally pulled into a parking spot near it. Her outfit wasn't really flashy, but it wasn't exactly blending in material either. It was just her style. She always had to look eccentric and fun. Being from California changed her style.

As she got out of the car she straightened her skirt and pulled her hair over her right shoulder. She took a deep breath and walked into the café. She wasn't sure if she was early or late or on time. She expected him to be there already with a seat, so she looked around searching for the blond boy.

Agreeing to coffee at Kali's was probably the best idea Robbie had so far. He hadn't had one of those in awhile and who the hell knows, he might actually benefit from this. Somehow. Not that he knew Adrianna wasn't exactly available.

Dressed in three quarter brown pants and a printed light blue tee, Robbie set out to meet the girl instead of waiting for her at her dorm. He wanted to enjoy the summer breeze alone. He was selfish that way.

Surprisingly, he arrived at Kali's and Adrianna was nowhere in sight. So he ordered a tall cup of ice blended coffee and a blueberry muffin before finding a seat near the window so Adrianna could spot him easily.

The cafe wasn't too crowded, which was easy for Robbie when the girl in question finally arrived. He waved her over and stood up from his seat to pull out hers. "Hey. How's it hangin?" Genius intro, buddy.

Adrianna heard a familiar voice and spotted Robbie. She smiled and noticed that he had pulled out her chair for her. Wow, polite? She had an internal head shake, stop judging Adrian. "Hi, it's...hangin good? That made no sense, but what I meant was it's going good. And you?" She asked as she took the seat that he had pulled out for her. He seemed too egotistical to be polite, but she didn't say anything. Chivalry wasn't completely dead...not yet at least.

She crossed her legs and folded her hands in her lap then looked up at him, "So now that we're here, we should play one of my favorite games. Whattaya say? You up for some 20 questions?" Adrian smiled and blushed only slightly from her admittance to enjoying the child's game 20 questions. But it wasn't exactly the same, which made her feel a bit better.

"It's not exactly like the kid's game 20 questions. There are some variations." She said with a shrug as a waiter came by. She ordered a caramel mocha frappucino, her major coffee addiction setting in. It was one of her many weaknesses...much like mint chocolate chip ice cream. She blushed deeper when she glanced up at him. How much of a freak would he think she is for being such a coffee addict?

Robbie didn't realise that Adrianna had noticed his actions but she did and if he had been aware, he would have overplayed it. But then again, the boy was a complete mystery sometimes. One minute he'd be pulling a heinous prank on you, the next he'd be helping an old lady cross the street. Basic manners, he argues. He's not a barbarian, he would retort.

Sitting back down, her proposal had him grinning widely. Well, this was new. He hadn't played stuff like that in ages. Even Evan and Estelle never requested to play this. Could be interesting, Robbie thought with a grin. "Why the heck not." Robbie shrugged, taking a sip of his drink.

If she thought he would think of her as a freak, she obviously didn't know him too well. Basically, this game was going to let her in the little secrets that Robbie had. Hopefully nothing too damaging. He still had a reputation to uphold. In his head.

"So, what should we start with?" he asked, leaning forward in anticipation.

Adrianna smiled brighter at his response. "Well what we do is go back and forth with different questions. Like if I asked you your favorite color, I'd tell you mine and then you'd answer and ask a new question. It's really easy, and it'll help us get to know each other too. You have to answer honestly too, even if it's something that you don't really like talking about." She said sternly. Then she put a smile back on her face.

"I'll start it off with the question I used to explain. My favorite color is any kind of purple. What is your favorite color?" She asked with a smile as she took a sip of her frappucino that the waiter had brought back. Adrian's leg was tapping frantically, it always did. She couldn't stop it no matter how hard she tried.

He leaned back on his chair as Adrianna explained how the game went. Nodding his agreement and understanding, Robbie took short sips of his drink. "Sounds pretty easy." He just hoped nothing too deep or too...well, as long as his family didn't come up, Robbie was sure everything would be copecatic.

"Colour? Hmm...tough one." He grinned teasingly, scratching his chin in 'deep' thought. "Ah, I give up. I think probably green." He nodded. "Locking down my answer, Alex." Robbie slapped his palm on the table, referencing two very different gameshows.

"Okay so it's my turn right? Uh...okay if you could bring two things on a deserted island that weren't electronic gadgets, what would you bring? I would probably bring Estelle, she's my best friend in case you didn't know. And also....a shitton of food." Robbie grinned, knowing that was probably not how the game worked but hey, it was a game.

Adrianna smiled and waited for his answer. She laughed at the combination of the two different game shows. He was definitely funny, she had to give him that. She liked him definitely as a friend. He seemed nice and he made her laugh which was always a good thing. She couldn't help but wonder if he had a serious side though. Both times that they had seen each other he was joking and having care free fun. Adrian didn't mind it though, she wanted to be around someone like that because it made her less serious.

"Hm well I think I'd bring my mom, Amelia, just so she wasn't alone. I'd also probably bring a lot of coffee stuff, since I'm an addict and all." She laughed and shrugged. Now it was her turn for a question. She didn't want to get into serious stuff quite yet, there was always time for that. Instead she came up with another simple question, "What type of music do you like? I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music, but I don't really like country all that much." She said with a smile, "Not that there is anything wrong with country...it's just not my thing."

Adri took a long drink of her coffee and waited for his response. She wondered if he would open up to her about family or anything. If he asked about her family, she'd tell him. It was difficult to talk about, but she didn't mind it too much. It was nice sometimes just to let it out.

Robbie held back the snarky retort just ready at the tip of his tongue about mothers. Then again, his own relationship with his parents was not reflective of other parents and their children. Adrianna probably had a loving mother who didn't feel like losing her firstborn child would be the best thing in the world. He did, however, laugh at her coffee addiction.

"Not the worst addiction ever." Robbie shrugged with a grin. "Ah man, music. Just play me anything and if my head starts bopping, I'm sure I like it. I think the other day someone was playing this song by Danity Kane...Two of You or something? It was such a catchy song. And I liked it."

"Okay, my turn. Uh..." he chuckled as he contemplated on his next question. "Boxers or briefs? I prefer commando but gun to my head, probably boxers." He grinned teasingly.

Adrianna nodded and smiled at his comments about music. She was in the middle of taking a drink when he asked his question. The first part was a little surprising, but she continued drinking. The second part however almost made her spit out her drink. She put a hand over her mouth she didn't spray coffee everywhere and once she choked it down she laughed. "Wow that's a little TMI for me. I actually prefer thongs all way. I think it's hot when guys where them too." She smirked and shrugged nonchalantly.

She had grown up around guys like Robbie. Comments like that rarely bothered her. She found them hilarious and comedic relief in a way. That was one reason she had always wished for an older brother. She laughed again and tried to think of another question. There was a very dirty question she could ask, but it was a little on the crude side. Well if he was going to talk about going commando, then she'd have to ask this question, "Boobs or butt? I prefer butt, it's a weakness."

Adrian took another drink of her coffee and looked at him innocently. She was good at playing off crude statements. Years of practice she had.

The reaction from Adrianna was exactly what Robbie had expected and he grinned. If they kept this up, they wouldn't have to worry about the serious stuff being asked. Robbie really was a genius after all.

"...you have a problem." He said with a deadpan stare before bursting out laughing. "Oh you. Are. HILARIOUS." Robbie guffawed behind his hand.

Once he had calmed himself down some, he concentrated on her next question and laughed once again. This game was fun!

"Oh man, easy. Boobs. Easier to view." He shrugged and thought of his next question. "One more day to live. Who would you confess all your secrets to? Me, probably Vincent Verax. So the guy can live with all my issues." He chuckled before shaking his head. "Naw. It'd definitely be Estelle. She wouldn't tell anybody anything."

Adrianna laughed and shrugged, "Being raised with a group of guys made me this way." She smiled as she tucked a strand of hair beyond her ear. Robbie was definitely fun to hang out with. It was easy making jokes like that around him, even if they were mildly inappropriate, it was still fun. She hadn't really had a good laugh for a while.

She waited for his answer and wasn't surprised. All guys went for boobs. Easy to view...nice. She listened to his next question and thought about it for a bit. There were several people she trusted with a lot. Her mom already knew all of her secrets, so she was out. There was Talen, or Serenity, or even Lucah. "Well that's tough. I think maybe Talen, he's pretty trustworthy. I would say Lucah, but I'd rather not be judged on my last day of living." She said as she rolled her eyes.

Next question. Part of her wanted to ask at least one serious question, but she didn't want to ruin the fun either. "Okay, I'm not trying to ruin our fun by getting all serious, but I want to know you on a more personal level." She took a breath and then asked her question, "What are your parents like? My mom is the best person I know. She's pretty much me, but quieter...." She sighed, "She has lung cancer too. My father is MIA, I've never met him because he left before I was born." Adri looked down at the table and frowned. Why did she have to ask a serious question? Way to kill the fun Adri.

"Yep, that'd do that to ya." Robbie chuckled, amused by her candour. Robbie himself had surrounded himself with guy friends growing up and while some were actually pretty decent in behaviour, the lewd ones were very, very lewd. He was just surprised a girl would stoop that low. It was hilarious.

As Adrianna answered his question, Robbie tried to place the people she had just mentioned, his eyebrow rising in his concentration before nodding in remembrance. Talen Trahan and Lucah Ivaskov. Robbie knew of them, never hung out with them though but he knew of them. The fact that Adrianna hung out with them wasn't going to effect what Robbie was starting with her right now.

He gave off a little bark off laughter when she rolled her eyes.

Her next question made him raise an eyebrow and he shook his head in amusement. Well, this game was to get to know each other on a personal level. "Honestly? My mom is loving. She cares. Sometimes way too much. To the point of suffocation but she means well. My dad's a hardass. He's in the army so you'd expect that. But he has his moments you know? Like...when I was younger, he'd only come back every two or three months or so and he'd always set aside some time to play with me." There. Honesty. Adrianna didn't ask how he felt about them. Just how they're like. So he was safe. He thought.

"Alright, your first real kiss. What was it like? Mine was a little squishy. And tasted like raspberries. I musta been about twelve when I got my first kiss." He laughed, not sure what else to ask.

Adrianna nodded as he spoke of his family. By the sounds of it his family wasn't too bad, but it didn't sound that great either. Luckily for her, her mom gave her space when needed. She knew Adrian too well to try and suffocate her. That was one of the things Adrian liked about her mom. They understood each other really well through an unspoken communication.

She waited for his question and scrunched her nose up when he asked about her first kiss. That was one thing she had tried to forget about. "My first kiss was an all around bad experience. I was thirteen and so was the guy. He had seen way too many movies and thought a kiss was all tongue when you were kissing a girl that wasn't related to you. He was practically choking me with his tongue. It was a very wet kiss, that's for sure." She shuddered slightly and then gagged. "And later, he tried getting fresh with me...bad bad experience."

Adrian smiled and laughed, "I've never told anyone besides my mom that story. It's pretty funny." She put her index finger to her lips as she thought of another question. Adrian smirked when she came up with a wicked and inappropriate thing to ask. "Are you a virgin Robbie?" She giggled and answered honestly, "I am." That was one thing she was definitely not ashamed of.

Robbie made a face at Adrianna's first kiss experience before chuckling. "Sorry, that must have been horrible. Being made moves on when you're just learning about your reproductive systems." He said, still chuckling.

Her next question made him chuckle. "I most certainly am not." He shook his head in amusement. He wasn't that surprised she was though. Girls were more protective of their sacred sanctum. Robbie...not so much. Although, at least he can still count on one hand the amount of girls he's slept with. He wasn't a slut. Yet.

"Okay, next question. If you farted in public, would you blame the person beside you? Because that's happened to me before and I did that. It was hilarious." Robbie laughed, taking a sip of his drink. "This is actually pretty fun."

Adrianna laughed and nodded, "Yeah not pleasant at all. The guy was a total whore too which wasn't surprising. I really had no interest in him, he kinda forced the kiss a bit." She shuddered at the memory.

She wasn't surprised Robbie wasn't a virgin. She had expected that, and she wouldn't judge him. She didn't exactly plan on waiting til marriage, she just hadn't found the guy yet. Of course her mother would probably flip if she did it at this age, but it wasn't her mother's choice either. "I didn't think so." She giggled and waited for his next question.

She rolled her eyes, typical guy question. She smirked when she thought of her answer, "Girls don't do that kind of stuff. Only guys pass any form of gas." Adri laughed quietly and nodded, "Yeah this is fun." She pursed her lips as she thought of another question. "Have you or would you ever cheat on a girl friend?" She asked curiously. She hoped not, but some guys didn't find it that out of the question. "I'd never cheat on my boyfriend. I'd break up with him if I wasn't happy."
