A pink leotard or a purple tutu? (Levente)

Mason liked having Levente with him in his weekly yoga class. Not only does he feel a whole lot more comfortable knowing he’s not the only guy in his thirties in the said class, Levi’s level of skill somehow boosts the man’s moral from time to time, mean as it may. It’s fun knowing that you’re not the only one being laughed at in class really. (Though the man’s getting better and better through each session; he’s a hell of a faster learner than Mason is really, something Mason’s rather scared of).

Flexibility aside, he really liked being in the company of the older man. With Sam absent once more, it’s nice having another guy to talk to randomly from time to time.

As usual, after grabbing his stuff from his house, Mason drove over the other man’s house to pick him up. “Dude, we’re going to be late! Flo won’t let me hear the end of this if we are,” yelled Mason from his car, chuckling as he did, “And don’t think you can fool me with another one of your ‘I-have-to-fix-my-insertfixturehere’ excuses like last week. So not working dude.”

Although Levente would have rather been going to a weekly kickboxing class, or better yet some sort of automotive shop class where he’d be covered in grease, he had to admit he did enjoy having a weekly excuse to get out of the house. He had to admit he was starting to get the hang of it. Of course, Levente wasn’t about to let Mason know that he was enjoying himself at yoga. He enjoyed teasing the poor man endlessly about it too much to admit anything like that. But he guessed that Mason knew he didn’t really mind it all that much.

Although he and Mason never talked about anything deep or really serious (or their feelings. They were men after all) it was a great feeling to have someone he could just talk with. Even if they just chatted for a few minutes in passing while at Hammel, it was something to look forward to.

Last week, Levente had been in one of his down moods and sent Mason away, using the excuse that his truck needed to have its breaks changed. But this week, he was actually looking forward to Mason pulling up to his place. He was on the roof of his garage when Mason car appeared in his driveway. “Late? Don’t blame me, you’re the one whose driving,” he yelled as he started to climb down his ladder. “And as a matter of fact, my kitchen sink is leaking. Thanks for asking. It really shows you care.” He laughed so hard he almost fell off the ladder before he reached the ground.

“Did you remember to pack your tutu?” He ducked into garage to get his duffle bag before the other man could reply. “And no, you can’t borrow mine,” he yelled out over his shoulder.

A kickboxing class or a automotive workshop would’ve been ok with Mason. After all, they do sound a whole lot more ‘manly’ than yoga. (Not to mention kickboxing would probably burn more calories than doing yoga in the same amount of time, or at least that’s how it seems to him). It’s just that Mason doesn’t really research much into these stuff. He stumbled into the yoga class because Flo recommended it. Should Levi mention it, heaven knows Mason wouldn’t turn it down. (He would probably rush to it too; while he loves being around Flo, he can only take her teasing for too long, even with Levi by his side).

“Oh now I’m to blame? Want to drive us there then?” He could remember that one day he went with Levi for a ride and how he clung on to his seatbelt the whole time. Not the man’s fault really, considering how slippery the roads were, but that didn’t stop him from jokingly blaming it on him. “And besides, if you’d come and pick me up, we’d get there five minutes before class ends.”

He let a mock exasperated sigh escape him as the older man mentioned the tutus. “Aww shucks. I left mine in the dryer. Sure you won’t lend me an extra one? We all know you have seven, one for each day.” A loud laugh follows soon after. “But yeah, better you bring one. The nude-colored one! We all know how Jennifer ogles at you every time you’re around. If you wear that, she’d probably pounce on you already.”

Not that he actually believes that Levi has tutus or leotards. He doesn’t seem like the type. Jennifer though, exists for real. A single, available as far as he knows, woman in their class. Just a little older than him and younger than Levi. Quite the looker, if he can say so himself. And is very much public about how she has hots for Levi. “Ready to meet your damsel that gives you much distress?” he teased as he revved up the engine and drove to town.

“I’d offer to drive, but I wouldn’t want you to have another heart attack,” Levente said as he walked towards Mason’s car. He had thoroughly enjoyed scaring the crap out of Mason the last time. Although Levente was actually a very decent driver, he couldn’t help but swerve around enough to make Mason grip the seatbelt even tighter. “Besides, you never know if my truck with actually start. Wouldn’t want you to get stuck bumming a ride from Flo.” Levente laughed as he slide into the passenger seat.

Although Levente expected Mason to retaliate after the Flo comment, he was a bit shocked when Mason mentioned one of the other women pouncing on him. “Jennifer? Really?” Levente cocked his head to the side. Ever since his wife has died, he hadn’t really noticed it when woman took an interest in him. Sure he noticed it when other guys were getting hit on, and he still recognized a nice looking woman when he saw one. But his radar seemed to have shut off. Or so it appeared. “Huh.”

“Uh…speaking of tutus,” Levente said, attempting to swing the conversation to his favor. “Don’t you think we should be doing something a little more…masculine?...with our time. I hear Josef teaches some sort of karate as well.” Levente gave Mason a lop-sided smile, hoping that the other man wouldn’t mind that he was trying to sneak his way out of yoga classes so quickly. “What do you think?”

“Only if you’re ready to meet yours,” Levente teased back.

“Remind me why you don’t fix your car first instead of, I don’t know, your sink or your roof again?” Because fixing a car is a whole lot easier compared to removing a clog or patching a hole in the roof in Mason’s book. Then again, the biggest thing he ever fixed was a broken bulb in a microscope (he just has to grab a new one from the stockroom) so his take on things is anything but dubious. “And Flo’s a hell of a decent driver than you, you know,” laughed the man, “She sure doesn’t give Fast and Furious a run for their money.”

His eyes widened when he realized what he just said. The whole Jennifer-liking-Levente was supposed to be a secret, no matter how ‘subtle’ the woman is around Levi. (Though Mason didn’t pick up on it until Flo pointed it out three weeks ago). “There’s no way I can take that back, can I?” he grinned tentatively, his fingers happily moving up and down along the steering wheel. “Just don’t tell Flo I told you. Or Diana for that matter. They’d kill me.” He was just (supposed to be) saying good things about Jennifer around Levi, not saying that she’d die to get into his pants outright. “It’s time for me to change the subject, is it not?” A few seconds of silence ensued and then he was grinning widely again. “Is Dylan cooperating now? Following your orders and such?”

Nice one Mason. That would really take Levi’s mind off Jennifer. [/sarcasm].

“He does?” That doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all. Only he has a feeling, since he’s quite the beginner at that, that he’d be joining kids around Gwynnie’s age or younger. Damn. “I’m all for it. You know if he has like an adult beginner’s class though? Because I’d be so ashamed if we get put in a class of pre-teens and I don’t think I can pass off as an experienced guy if I do sign up for the higher level classes.” He just got lucky with the yoga class after all.

“Because my dear boy,” Levente said smiling. “The sink or the roof will stay fixed. Well at least longer than my truck. But I can’t bear to let the death trap go just yet.” Truth was, Levente did spend a good deal of time working on his truck. But it always seemed that the minute he fixed one part, something else would fall to pieces. He didn’t really mind though, it kept him busy.

“Cat’s already outta the bag, my man,” Levente said smiling. Even though the whole Jennifer things was making him a little uncomfortable, he couldn’t pass by and opportunity to tease poor Mason. “And Flo will be the very first person I tell. I gotta get the female perspective and all.”

“Orders?” Levente asked, with a scowl. “Don’t let Dylan hear you talking like that. I do my best to stay away from that man. Although sometimes it just can’t be helped. I think he’s got a few bolts loose.” He smiled and punched Mason in the arm. “But we were discussing more important matters, were we not?”

“I’m sure he’s got an adult class,” Levente said, and hoped. Like Mason he wasn’t about to sign up for a class full of kids. Not that he minded looking like an idiot from time to time, but he didn’t want to sign up to pay for it.

“Now, back to Jennifer,” Levente said, elbowing Mason in the side a little. “She’s the red head who usually takes a spot in the back row, right?”

“Sure you don’t want to replace him just yet? My brother knows of a car dealer who can give you a brand new one for a great deal. Got this one for almost half the market price through him.” His car’s been with him for almost a year now and it hasn’t given up on him yet. (Then again, he doesn’t really use his car for long drives; usually his little brother volunteers to drive or he rides a plane). “Do you have some sort of sentimental bond with it anyway, or than those formed when you started fixing it non-stop?”

Mason’s shoulders dropped when Levente kept on teasing him. Oh how he wishes to remove that smug grin off the man’s face. “You know you’re lucky I am so against my power unless absolutely necessary else you would’ve been choked to death right now,” he said, trying to sound threatening, “Though if you’re really serious about asking Flo, then I might just up the threat level so bad.”

“Dylan scares me.” Yes, a big, burly man scared of a guy barely out of his teens. Hilarious. “If he was the only one I could ask for help, I would die.” The guy does his job great, yes, but wouldn’t it hurt to smile and socialize from time to time? “Then again, he’s better than Honor. You know, the blind trainer?” He exaggerated a shiver as he made a quick right turn. Who knew the ride to the yoga place would turn into some sort of a gossip session?

The mischievous smirk got back on when Levi mentioned Jennifer though. “Ooh. You like her too, don’t you?” he said, impishly smiling as he nudged his friend with his elbow, “Yup. That’s the one. I believe she works at the local bank branch and has a brother who’s a teacher at the public elementary school.”

"Replace my truck?" Levente asked, in mock amazement. "Are you crazy? I could never trade in my ol' beater. We've been together for years!" Even though there was no huge sentimental connection between Levente and his truck he wasn't about to get rid of it anytime soon. Truth was, Levente believed that as long as something was fixable then there was no need to replace it. Even if he had to fix it again...and again...and again...

"You touch me with those golden locks of yours," Levente teased. "And I'll give you a jolt you won't soon forget." He sent a few sparks from his fingertips to illustrate the point. Not that he would ever really harm Mason, but he wouldn't hold back from giving him a friendly buzz now and then. "As for talking to Flo," he continued. "Maybe I will...and maybe I won't. Guess you'll just have to wait and see." Most likely he wouldn't actually talk to Flo. Although this whole Jennifer situation is making him curious.

"Don't let him scare you," Levente said. "I have a feeling his bark is worse than his bite. Beside you can always ask me if you ever need anything." When Mason mentioned Honor, Levente almost growled. "Oh, I know Honor," he said the disdain dripping in his voice. "If I weren't a gentlemen..." he let his sentence drop off to leave Mason to imagine. He was still pissed from his last encounter with the woman.

Levente elbowed Mason back, a little harder this time. "You just want me to have a love life so you can live vicariously though it." He smiled to show he was only joking. "You drive like an old woman, shouldn't we be there by now?"

“Well if you want, I could do it for you. I’m a true friend after all,” laughed Mason, teasingly moving his eyebrows up and down as he flashed an impish grin towards the older man. Not that he’d actually do it of course – first off, he’s not that invasive and secondly, he’s convinced the Levente’s got some sort of sentimental attachment to it despite (implicitly) claiming otherwise. He says it’s like those odd commercial jingles – no matter how you hate them, they still get stuck in your head. “Oh god. I should start keeping my distance from you then. I don’t want you to suddenly become clingy to me or something,” added the biology teacher, sticking his tongue out, “It’ll be creepy. And unsettling. Brr.”

But really, considering how much he admires the older man, heaven knows he’d be the one sticking by Levi’s side should the situation come to that.

His mischievous grin vanished momentarily when he saw the sparks from Levi’s hands, his eyes cautiously widening as he looked at it from the side. They’re dangerous all right, but he can’t deny their intrinsic allure. “Planning on using that on Jennifer?” he winked, his grin slowly coming back, “You know, considering how signals in the body are transmitted through electrical impulses, maybe using a small jolt here and there during coitus might make the experience more…you know.” A huge deflection off their original topic – he knows – but it’s just that the theory’s been in his head for so long and he hasn’t had the right timing to tell Levi about it. “Please don’t tell me you’ve tried it before, you sneaky dog you?”

“He bites?” he asked, laughing loudly soon after. “…you would’ve had your way with her?” Apparently Mason can’t stop teasing Levente about his love life (or lack thereof) now. The secret about Jennifer’s out anyway, so why stop there? “Hey, I do have game you know. Don’t mock me.” Things are working out well with Flo at the time being after all. Though with talks of Darryl coming back…

“I know you’re all excited to wear your tutu now and flash those legs of yours to Jennifer, but could you wait just a bit?” They were along the block already (he could see the facility not far ahead) but somebody took his usual parking spot (the nerve!). It took him three more minutes to find another one, stopping the engine and going out of the car with a grin. “There. We’re here, happy now?” he chuckled, shaking his head as he gave Levi one final punch on the arm before going out of his car and grabbing his bag.

“Don’t you dare touch my truck,” Levente said, giving Mason a dirty look. So maybe he was a little attached to the thing. There was nothing wrong with that, right? He laughed at Mason’s clingy comment. He did have a habit of getting things, mostly socks, stuck to him from time to time. So far he hadn’t gotten anyone stuck to him before though.

Levente punched Mason in the arm playfully as the man continued to tease him about Jennifer. “Why?” he asked. “You jealous?” When Mason found a parking spot, finally, Levente hopped out. “Yes, very happy,” he said smiling. “Thanks for the ride old lady.”
