Ethan once said that his charms rely most on his boyish look. That it’s his sweet and innocent boy-next-door image that draws the ladies in the most. That once he turns the spunk on and shows them that he’s more than just a darling sweetheart, they’ve already fallen for his trap with no way out. All in a joking tone, of course. But then again, as they say, (all) jokes are half-meant.

“Anywhere on you?” chuckled Ethan as they weaved through the not-so-heavy Pilot Ridge traffic, shaking his head as if in disbelief, “You be careful with what you say Andi, my lips don’t like to be taunted. They can really follow through. Can you?” He added a wink, just for good measure. All ready thoughts were starting to pop in his head like crazy, so the brunette had to sum up all his willpower to push them down (lest they show a physical manifestation elsewhere). While he’s fairly sure that she wants what he wants and vice versa, he knows for certain that he can’t jump at her just yet. Nope. Nobody likes an easy prey – guy or girl alike.

A little push here and a little pull there wouldn’t hurt anyone anyway.

“Careful when you flaunt those legs,” he said, sneakily running his fingers from her knees down to her thighs, “We don’t want car accidents springing up all of a sudden because they got distracted.” While he normally would mind someone suddenly propping their legs up his dashboard (he chastised his brother more times than he could ever remember, but still he goes on and does it again), apparently Andi is a special case. He’s definitely not minding the view.

“N’aww. I’m a sixty year-old actually.” A loud laugh escaped the boy as he pressed on the brake pedal as the light suddenly turned red. “You’re seventeen? Aww shucks. Why didn’t you tell me? I’ll be in so much trouble if I ever do anything to you then,” he said in mock disappointment.

She looked over as he said that, and a wide grin split across her face. “I can follow through, Ethan,” she told him as she looked ahead again, that wide smile on her face. “It seems that all the guys I’ve been with can attest to that fact.” How many guys, you ask? Well, there was the one who had taken her virginity when she had just turned seventeen, then there was his best friend who basically “attacked” her when she had broken up with the first guy, then there was Lukas…and now there was Ethan.

His fingers ran down her skin like feathers and she shivered a little. Many places on the girl’s body were sensitive to touch; her hair, neck, and ears were one of many. Her waist and hips were another, and then there was her legs. She didn’t mind him touching her; she had put up with it when she had shot up like a weed around her younger friends and they had touched her. But it was still a sensitive spot.

“Oh darn,” she returned with a laugh, looking at him again. “That means that I am not totally turned on by your charming looks and we should not be having ice cream, but it seems I cannot resist.” She smiled at his mock disappointment and chuckled. “Ethan, darling, I’m not some innocent you need to tiptoe around. You can have all the fun you want.” Oh yes, she went there, and let him draw his own conclusions, but she would not let her age get in the way of her enjoying his company.

Ethan snickered rather loudly when he heard what Andi had said. “My, my. Seems I’ve hit the jackpot then,” he smirked as he casually placed a hand on her thigh. As it was, he felt his being a bit too wet than normal that he had to swallow and gulp a bit just so he won’t drool outright. He could just hope Andi was no telepath as his thoughts were, aside from being a bit too lewd for comfort, a bit too embarrassing as hell too.

“Is that a challenge Andi? To make me bring my A-game lest I become just one of those guys?” Unlike most, he isn’t too perturbed upon learning that Andi’s been around. While some might find the concept rather repulsive, to Ethan, it’s actually a good thing. Experience is always great. Means his pursuit will be more than just worthwhile. And now he knows why Andi seems a little too cocky and confident compared to most other girls he’s met. “If it was, sorry but it didn’t work. Because even if I just use half of my skills, I’m fairly sure you’ll already be blown away.” He’s usually not this cocky, but hey, he can’t let her think he’s a pushover, right?

“Oh I’ll have my fun alright. And it’ll be rough,” laughed Ethan, playfully pinching Andi’s cheeks, “But I’ll go grab you an ice cream first. I’m a gentleman after all; I’ll charm you with my social skills first before I go and have my way on you.” With one last turn to the right, the ice cream shop Ethan was telling her about finally came into view. After taking a minute or two to find that perfect parking spot, the teen happily led Andi into the store, hand instinctively curling around her waist as they went in. “Have you been here before?” he said as they sat down and were given menus to look at.

His hand on her thigh made her shiver again. His skin was warm and rough against her shaved legs, and the contrast…well, it was highly interesting to see his skin against her own. She kept her thoughts from scrambling at his touch by listening to his words and grinning. Oh, he was so much fun to flirt with. She could only imagine what it would be like if they were intimate, if they were already this comfortable just flirting with each other.

“I’ll believe it when I see it,” she told him, a promise in itself when he pulled up to the ice cream shop. She got out of the Jeep and stretched her legs happily, walking to Ethan’s side. She didn’t mind his arm around her waist; after all of the vocal flirting they had done since they had met, it was as if they had been dating for months now, which wasn’t true. He truly was a gentleman, and that was why Andi looked at him now as a prospective partner in the ways of dating instead of the cute boy she had met just a half hour ago.

“I’ve seen this place, never been inside,” she answered truthfully as she sat across from him, looking at the menu while her fingers played a beat on the table top. It didn’t help that her foot strayed from its place under the table to gently rub his calf; Andi knew she was breaking some rules, but come on! After having that hot guy touch you, and now be deprived of his touch…well, it spoke volumes. “I think I’ll have the chocolate brownie supreme surprise,” she said with a laugh, gently taking her foot away. “Try saying that five times fast,” she dared Ethan with a playful wink.

Ethan felt relieved that Andi made no visible sign of dislike or resistance when he casually wrapped his arms around her waist. He rather liked it there and he’s not planning on removing it anytime soon. The whole notion of having such a thin piece of cloth hiding his prize from his hands, of the sensation of being so close yet so far, is making Ethan’s mind go into places. He should feel bad that a girl he met just half an hour or so ago has this much power over him, but surprisingly, he’s not. In fact, he rather likes it.

“Eager are we?” he grinned, cocking his eyebrows as he looked past his menu and to Andi’s eyes, playfully returning the calf-nudge gesture. “You do know the saying ‘Good things come to those who wait’ right?” He himself couldn’t wait to let his primal desires instincts take over. (Just another reason why he’s drawn so much to the girl – while most girls he went out with wouldn’t show their excitement for things to come until later, Andi’s not afraid to tell that to him straight up. At least he wouldn’t be oh-so-confused on whether she’d like to have it or not). “Finish your ice cream first young lady, or else you won’t get your dessert.”

Yes. Cheesy not to mention…awkward-sounding. But, if that out of the blue chuckle is any indication, he doesn’t really care.

“I should take you here a whole lot then. This has been one of my favorite places in town ever since we moved here fifteen years ago.” Seemed like a long time ago really. Somehow he feels a little too old saying that though. After ordering what the ice cream shop calls a ‘tropical fruit extravaganza’ (basically a banana split that has tropical fruit ice cream flavors on it) and returning the menu, he indulged Andi and said the brownie-themed treat, laughing at how ridiculous he sounded on the third time. “Hah. So not for me. Takes great lip-mouth-tongue coordination to do that.”

His feet still playing tag with Andi’s under the table, he sneakily grabbed her hand and gave her a wink. “So, I haven’t really asked you what your power is. Please don’t tell me it’s telepathy, ‘cause I tell you, all my thoughts right now are pretty embarrassing,” he chuckled.

His foot touched her calf and she knew she was lost to his playful desires. She nodded to his “wise saying” but kept silent, trying to rein in the desire to sit next to him and tease him mercilessly. He was polite, yet playful, and both ends of the social spectrum drummed on her senses, drawing her in like an aphrodisiac. Her foot came back to rub against his leg, her body temperature rising with every second she was in his presence.

Hot playful guy wanting to jump your bones? Ohyesplease.

“So you haven’t lived here your whole life,” she remarked casually, looking at him with eyes that were serious in a way, but still sparkled with the fire of her playful nature. “We’re the same, kinda. I’ve been living here for the past five, almost six years.” She laughed along with him when he tried to say the name of the ice cream treat she had ordered, and caught her breath when he grabbed her hand. It felt familiar, since they had done it before, and she was going to keep holding onto it this time. She twined her fingers in his.

“Tactile combustion,” she told him with a smile, squeezing his fingers lightly. “And no, I won’t make your fingers blow up. I can only make inanimate objects do that.” Looking around, she grabbed the napkin dispenser and touched it with her finger, looking at him as the metal and paper started to glow bluish-purple with the force of her power. “Now I can choose to blow it up right now, or take the kinetic energy back.” She touched it again and the glow faded, her hand flexing with the influx of power she received.

She looked up at the ice cream was set before them, and she grinned as she looked at her treat. It was chocolaty and decadent and rich and hers. She took her spoon and got a rather large bite and ate it, moaning at the explosion of flavors in her mouth. “This is really good,” she told him, getting another bite and holding it up for him to try.

His manners? An aphrodisiac?

Ethan would undoubtedly laugh out loud if he hears that. While he’d absolutely love the compliment and would feel rather flattered with it, it’s just a bit too funny for him. If anything, he’d say it’s the chocolate’s doing. Rumor has it they’re an aphrodisiac after all, around the same note as oysters and ginger roots. But then she hadn’t had her chocolate brownie explosion or something (it’d take a day or two for him to completely get the name) so the tease won’t be too appropriate. Yet.

“Oh so when your powers first manifested? Ha. At least I don’t have to give you a tour of the place before anything else then,” he nodded, satisfied that she didn’t wave his fingers off or anything like that, instead going the next step further and intertwining hers with his. Ha. It’s like they’d been going out for a while already, something he’s not entirely opposed to really. “I’m still surprised I haven’t seen you before. Or that my friends back in Hammel didn’t talk about you. I mean, it’s impossible not to talk about you.” And he added another wink to make the flirting all the more cheesier. “Or did you just develop those lovely curves as of late?”

When Andi showed him her powers, he was both in awe and a tad bit jealous. Why couldn’t he have been given something as awesome as hers? If Chris can stretch himself, why can’t he, like, pass through walls or such?

“I’m fairly sure you can make living things explode too,” grinned the boy, shaking such thoughts out of his system. No need to let age old resentment get in the way of his flirting after all. “Do you have fairly good control of your powers now?” His mind immediately went forward of course, thinking of the things that might happen should he go forward with this. He doesn’t want his bed suddenly blowing up or his wall having a hole all of a sudden after all.

He promptly took his hand away when the ice cream was served, savoring the creaminess of the dessert. “Glad you like it,” he nodded, eating some from her when Andi offered a spoonful. “Tastes yummy. But I’m fairly sure my banana tastes a whole lot better.” Returning the gesture, he sliced a banana off his bowl and gave it to her.

And yes, if you’re asking, it is supposedly a double entendre. He just hopes it works.

His compliments were getting to her head, and she was letting them, and she didn’t know why; she wasn’t normally like this. He was just too open and in her face, too forward and too goofy; he wasn’t supposed to be her type, and she wasn’t supposed to be attracted to any other part of him aside from his face. Somehow, just with his smile and the way he interacted with her, he had wormed his way under her skin, and now she wanted to be around him all the time, if only to keep smiling this way.

“Well, I’ve been busy making too much trouble and hiding in detention for anyone to notice me,” she responded with a wink of her own, feeling very playful at the moment. “And I tried making living things explode. It didn’t really work; sure, I can push my energy into something living, but then they use that energy for something else, so I get really weak, and the other person or thing gets really hyper. I still lose control from time to time, but that’s only if I don’t channel my energy into more…energy-consuming activities.”

Oh, she so went there.

He spoke and pink flushed her cheeks. He also went there, but she was soooooo tempted to go under the table and see if his words were true. She looked up at him with eyes turning more brown than green, which tended to happen if she was either A(angry, B(aroused, or C( expending a lot of her power. He would know the correct answer, if the way she ate the banana slice was any indication; she closed her mouth over the creamy treat and pulled the spoon out slowly, looking at him all the while, and licked the corner of her mouth when she was don.

“Delicious,” she spoke in a husky murmur, winking at him.

As much as Ethan would like to insist that he has game, he’s never really the smooth guy. Sure he has his moments, but compared to Braxton, hell, he’s nothing. He’s more along the dorky side of things. He knows he has quite the adorable face, and maybe some definition here and there from all that wrestling and working out he’s been trying, but other than that, well, he’s got none. Oh how he hates being with Brax all the time and feeling so lacking.

“You should’ve asked me to join you. I’d love to hide from detention with you,” he chuckled, happily taking in spoonfuls of his treat in between, “I do know all sorts of dark and cramped places in the school they won’t ever think of looking at.” In his mind it sounded rather suggestive, but when he said it, it somehow turned flat. Oh brother. He listened pensively when she went on and explained a few more kinks to her powers, nodding at times to show that he’s actually listening. “Well then, I’d be glad to help you use your energy wisely, Andi.”

Seems they really both want the same thing. Ethan’s hit the jackpot then.

And if he needed more convincing, the way her mouth wrapped around the spoon of his and ate all the fruity and creamy goodness that it has would’ve been more than enough. He felt his breath hitch, his pants tighten beyond control that he had to shift just slightly so the discomfort, while present, wouldn’t be too much. “You know you should stop teasing me like that,” he grinned, still feeling a bit flushed, “The willpower needed to stay on my seat and not jump into yours is really great. And I don’t think I can keep it on for much longer.”

So what if he’s a little too forward. He’s already done moving in circles, time to get to the prize he wants.

A few more teasing here and there and before they knew it, their desserts are already done. After calling for a waiter and promptly paying for the bill (he made it a point to leave quite the tip, considering how much he enjoyed the experience), he stood up and gave his arm out to Andi, signaling her to wrap hers around his. “So, where are we off to next? Or do you need to get back to school and do homework already?” He leaned in close, his mouth a mere millimeter from her skin, and whispered, “My house isn’t too far from here. And I’m fairly sure no one’s around.”

Hopefully that’d do the trick.

Andi truly was enjoying herself in Ethan’s company. He had managed to make her abdomen hurt with laughter, her eyes to tear up, and body to completely relax in the forty-five minutes they spent in the ice cream shop. She managed to eat all of her dessert without spitting it back out or choking on it in all of her laughter fit, tease with Ethan, and grow closer to him all the same, and she could honestly say that she was having fun.

When Ethan stood up, so did Andi, locking her arm with his as they walked outside. She listened to his easy words, shivering when he got closer and whispered to her. She looked up at him, his playful eyes looking at her, and she smiled back at him, her free hand coming to brush a strand of dark hair off his forehead. It ended up landing on his neck, fingering the soft hairs at the nape of his neck. “As much as I would love to have fun in your house with you, Ethan,” she whispered back, “I actually do have to do some homework. One part of it is an essay from your father.”

She then made a split decision and leaned in the tiny bit forward and pressed a soft kiss to Ethan’s lips, savoring the contact for a few seconds before pulling back. “Thanks for a fun afternoon. We should do it again sometime,” she told him, her voice a bit louder as her arm slithered down and took his hand, her fingers tugging him towards his Jeep so that he could take her back to the dorms…and back into solitary discomfort.

Ethan would be lying if he said that Andi’s decision not to go home with him didn’t disappoint him one bit. In fact, he could feel a bit of self-doubt creep at the back of his head, asking himself if he’d been a bit too strong over the last half an hour or if it was the opposite. They had good rapport in the beginning, easily volleying flirty remarks here and there, and he’s fairly sure she wanted it as much as he did. Dang. Has he been misinterpreting her friendly teasing as something more all these time?

And then bam came the answer.

How he wished he was prepared for it really. Then at least he could’ve made it last longer, go a bit deeper. If he wasn’t going to get laid tonight, might as well have one sultry kiss right? “You’re such a tease, you know that?” laughed the boy as he let himself be led back to his jeep, helping Andi up before going to his own seat and starting his car. “Fine. I’ll drive you back to your dorm now,” he said as they got back to the main road, “But I do have to tell you, my bed would be extremely cold tonight. Just saying.”

A few more minutes and they’re back on the school parking lot, his right hand firmly placed on her thigh the whole drive. “So, see you next time?” asked Ethan, flashing her a grin. “Oh! And before I forget,” he promptly grabbed a red marker from the compartment in front of Andi and uncapped it, writing his number on the length of her arm. “Call me?”

She huffed playfully. “I am not a tease!” she retorted, knowing she was lying just a tad as she said that. She really, really liked Ethan, and if he felt the same way, he would chase her like she wanted him to. His hands were warm on her waist as he helped her into the Jeep, making her shiver again as she waited for him to drive. Pretty soon they were off down the main road again, and he was making another sad but smart remark, making her laugh as she propped her legs on his dashboard again.

“My bed’s going to be cold tonight too, White,” she told him matter-of-factly; it had been a while since she had last seen Lukas, and truth be told, she was a little bit sad that he wasn’t so interested. Her eyes landed on Ethan’s face as his hand held her thigh firmly, and that tiny bit of sadness disappeared. If Lukas wanted to leave her high and dry, well, she had someone to take his place, someone who made her laugh and played with her like her personality wanted to be played with.

He pulled in the parking lot and she smiled at him, lowering her legs. “Most definitely,” she promised, wanting another evening like the one they had just had. She laughed when he grabbed her arm and wrote his number on her skin in bright red; it would take a while to get off, but she could smudge it enough that other people wouldn’t be able to read the numbers. “I’ll call you when I’m free again,” she told him with a promising smile as she leaned in again and kissed him, a bit more firmly and a bit deeper, before grabbing her backpack from the backseat and exiting the vehicle. She waved and walked backward to him before turning and running to her room.
