Ash smiled at her agreement on the name. He really did like the name Max for the pup. It suited him pretty well. He continued rubbing Kuma's back and scratching behind his ears. The dog was great, definitely one that Ash would base how he raised Max off of. Tae had done a great job with Kuma and Ash liked that a lot.
He smiled wider when she said she'd help. "Puppy books and toys, sounds like you may be my new hero." He laughed lightly. He still had a few toys from King, and a book or two, but it was specifically on how to raise a good Rottweiler pup. Max was a tad bit different. Hopefully the toys would be good enough though, they weren't in too bad shape and they were small enough for a puppy, but not small enough for Max to choke on it.
Ash stood up as the dogs ran off across the space chasing after each other. He looked at Tae and felt her fingers lace with his. He smiled and looked up at her after he squeezed back. He had been slightly caught off guard by the question, but he knew how to answer. He wanted to be friends of course, but he really wanted more than that. "Well what I want is to be more than friends, but if you don't want that, I totally understand and I can handle being just friends." He rushed the ending a bit because he felt the stutter creeping back in.
This would either be the best decision of his life...or the worst.
