Dani hadn't meant to get caught. Shoving aside the point of "when does she mean to get caught", she's still really irked at this one. It was supposed to be simple, just set the cups in the room and leave. And generally, if anyone sees Dani doing something, they either leave her be or report her to staff, but the trouble with Hammel is that there's always some new person that doesn't get it. Today, a girl tried to confront her about what she was doing. This lead to Dani being in the hall for much longer than she had planned, and so the person she had been pranking showing up and... yeah. Turns out the person she's pranking this time isn't afraid to, and this is a direct quote, "Mess you up for that". And then AngryChick's friend showed up. Dani decided then would be a lovely time to make a break for it.

Sprinting through the halls, out the building, and around the school grounds, Dani managed to nearly lose her pursuers. Unfortunately, "nearly" wasn't enough, and before long Dani found herself pinned down in the courtyard, trying to fight two girls at once. She managed to kick one in the mouth and wrestle one arm free from the other girl, and so far they hadn't managed to land a hit on Dani's pretty little face. But they did hit plenty of other places that were starting to hurt like hell. If she could just stand--but she was still outnumbered. There was no Robbie to drag her from this fight, not today.

On the other hand, she was glad Robbie wasn't here. If she got caught in this, she could call self-defense because these girls are kind of beating her to a pulp. (And we're not talkin' tasty orange juice, kiddies.) But if Robbie, on the other hand, had gotten into this one and helped her out, there would be nothing to keep him from being expelled this time--everyone knew he was walking on a tightrope without a net here since his involvement at the Talk. Dani really wished people would just let it the frack go already, it's been, what, a month and a half and the majority of the school was still shooting him dirty looks.

Back to the fight now.

Dani managed to roll and soldier crawl a few feet, then kicked out at the girls one more time and made a flailing half-upright escape while tripping over her own feet. She really hoped being at least a foot shorter than these girls would be to her advantage somehow. She felt the collar of her shirt grabbed, and she was being roughly yanked backwards. Not just by anyone, or even the girl that was after Dani in the first place. No, this was one of the thugs from the other day, the tall one that tried to beat Robbie in the first place.

"Frack," She choked out, "Don't you people let anything go?" The girls were caught up now. Before they could do anything, Dani stomped on the guy's foot, hard, and was released. She stumbled away a couple steps, then turned to face her pursuers.

God, this was not going to go well.

"I'd put her down, if I were you," Izzy said. He almost cringed as he said it though. Seriously, who talked like that? It sounded like a hero out of a Western or something, and nobody watched Westerns anymore. Though, really, Izzy liked to convince himself that it was more of a comic book/super hero thing, and he did like to think of himself as something of a hero.

Because everyone knows that heroes confront girls.

"I mean, seriously," said Izzy. He was taking steps closer, and wishing he was about twice the size. Or that he had a more offensive power. Or that he even had control over his own power. Because the last time he'd confronted anybody, the best he'd been able to do was slow down time slightly around them. Oh, yes, so very scary. Mia was surely cowering at the very thought of Izzy.

A few more steps, and Izzy was probably standing right next to the girls now. The one being kicked looked, uh, scrappy. Also vaguely familiar. Izzy glanced at her, almost wishing he could signal. Just because his power sucked incredibly didn't mean that hers wasn't awesome. Maybe she just needed a few seconds. He'd bought her that, what with his super awesome entry.

"There's two of you, one of her," said Izzy. "It's not exactly fair. And you really don't want me to get involved. Oh," Izzy turned to look at the main building, "plus there's probably a teacher around or something. Pretty sure detention sucks."

Dani actually had one power. And it was usually kind of awesome. Today, though, Dani really disliked it and wished that she had something more awesome, like super strength. Or Cryokinesis. Or, really, anything that could be used offensively. She could probably do something to freak them out, like... Oh! Using the apparently not-a-threat guy's distraction time, she focused on sounding like a lion, thought of growls and roars, then opened her mouth to roar at the people, get them to let her go maybe, and was not disappointed.

No, she wasn't disappointed. She was embarrassed and outright devastated, but not disappointed.

Dani meowed. A cute, sweet, innocent-sounding meow that brought to mind the image of a dainty, wide-eyed kitten. The girls were confused, and Dani was able to shove away from them and run to the blonde guy's side. She hated that she needed his help, but need it she did, and for all she knew he had this awesome-amazing power that he just really didn't want to use. Maybe it was a hulk-smash kind of thing that took him being angry. Or, or, maybe it was shifting into a wolf, and it took concentration and time.

She just really hoped he knew how to run. And/or fend for himself. Because Dani was about to freaking sprint for her dorm. She opened her mouth to tell the guy to run, and was angered at herself when all that came out was "Mrrrew."

Okay, yeah, she was officially screwed. She sounded like a kitten and she had to deal with getting away from these freaks and making sure this kid got away, too. Because now she owed him one, and getting him away would make them even. So she had to make sure he got away, so she wouldn't owe him one. She hated owing anyone anything. What she ended up doing was tapping his back, not taking her eyes off of the girls still standing in front of her. The girls were obviously trying to figure out if they could take Dani now that there was a guy there, too, and it looked like they were deciding on the "most likely, yeah" option. Dani mouthed "run" at the guy as soon as he looked at her, then turned to do just that.

Hopefully he would follow. If he didn't, Dani would have to go back for him. And she didn't want to go back to deal with that.

Times like this made Izzy wish for super awesome control over his sorta-cool powers. Just a wave of his hand, and he could freeze them all in time. Unfortunately, Izzy's powers had a tendency to be freakish. He was counting on one particular nicety of his powers: they seemed to pull through whenever he needed to help someone else. So as Dani pulled alongside him, Izzy raised up his hand, fingers splayed, focusing. Bend time, get it to obey you.

At first, the small group of girls were moving faster. That bit of deliberation took nearly a third the time it should have. Realizing this, Izzy desperately tried to push the other way. To picture them moving slower. About this time, Dani was meowing at him, sounding eerily like a kitten or something. Izzy caught the mouthing though, and wound up nodding.

One last thrust, then Izzy was turning on his heel, scrambling after Dani. He ventured a glance over his shoulder, and was pleased to see that he'd slowed time down around the girls. They wouldn't be stopped, but what should be a sudden dash at Izzy and Dani would instead be a decidedly slower starting off. The girls moved as though they were swimming through jello instead of air. Looks of shock showed on their faces too, doubtless brought out by the sudden appearance of Izzy moving incredibly fast.

"I don't know how long that'll work!" Izzy called, stumbling along the unfamiliar ground. "It's not exactly reliable."

More running for now, less talking. They needed to put some distance between them, something Izzy was definitely okay with.
