Cole had barely gotten home after getting his cast off. His leg still itched up a storm, but at least he could scratch the itch now. Rayne had scurried off to work, hopefully she wouldn't be in too much trouble being late after taking him to the doctor. Cole was bored without her though.

He put down his controller and picked up his phone. Flipping through the contacts, he came across a name he hadn't thought to text in a while. Possibly because the guy he considered a bro didn't even come see him after the accident. If Jalen knew, how could Zac not?

In Zac’s defense, he actually had no idea about what had happened to Cole. Sure he noticed that the boy’s been practically absent over the past few months, and while he would’ve checked up on him if he could, life’s been busy. The holiday’s aside, there’s also been the issue of him trying to dissuade both his best friends from their current romantic endeavors. And we all know how fruitful both of his pursuits have been.

While he was surprised, he didn’t feel at all threatened. Cole’s always been Cole, and he believes that when it comes to him, the boy’s all bark and no bite.
