I Need You, Friend (Cole.)

Jalen hadn't been this sad in a dog's age. Actually, she couldn't remember ever being this sad. Right now she was wishing more than ever that she had someone to lean on, preferably female. But that just wasn't going to happen.

Taking her phone out, she sent a text to the only person she thought she could vent to and would understand:

Send to: Cole

Message: Cole, are you busy? I could really use some cheering up - I just dumped Cody.

Putting her phone down beside her on her bed, she sighed. Would Cole even be sympathetic if she was the one who dumped Cody? It was worth trying. Even being reamed out for this would be better than the void she was feeling in her heart.

[Cole Kessler]

Cole had been playing Black Ops for most of the day. It was only when his phone buzzed wildy in his pocket that his attention became divided. As he died in-game once more, he took his phone out and nearly dropped his controller as he read the message. He quickly typed out a response:

Send to: Jalen

Message: No shit? I didn't see that coming. I've gotta come into town and pick up some smokes and food. Want me to come get you? You can tell me about it then, yeah?

Jalen picked up the phone as it blinged, hoping it was Cole. An itch of a grin passed her face - it was.

Send to: Cole

Message: Please. Girls dorm, room 406.

She closed her phone and sighed, letting the phone simply drop from her hand. Did Cole really need those things, or was he just trying to make her feel better? She didn't really care. Turning on her side, she let her eyes close and let the tears come once more.

This suck fest better end soon. She thought to herself, knowing that maybe she should tidy up her appearance before she went out, but sleep quickly took her by surprise.

As he read the message he wasted no time in getting into the car. Cole drove through town, waiting until after he picked Jalen up to get what he needed from the store. He pulled into the school parking lot and pulled his phone out after he'd parked.

Message: Hey, I'm in the parking lot. C'mon, I'm hungry and IHOP sounds amazing right now.
