once upon a time [Matt]

It had been four days since she had seen him, but those four days had been filled with schoolwork, tinkering with her bike, and generally dealing with day-to-day life. Right now she was staring at her phone, his number in her other hand, debating if it was too soon to talk to him. She was sitting on her bed, dressed in black boxers and a tank top with the X-Men logo on her chest, her damp hair in a ponytail.

Should she?

“What the hell,” she muttered as she entered his number into her phone. Once that was done, she put the number in her desk drawer and looked at the phone once again. Taking a deep breath, she slid the slider keyboard out and began letting her thumbs do the talking.

Hey Matt, it’s Andi. I know it’s only been four days since that awesome day at the café, but I wanted to say hi…and stuff. How are you?

She hit “send” and took another deep breath, waiting for him to reply back. She took out her ponytail and combed her fingers through it and leaned against her pillows, closing her eyes.

Matt had spent the last four days doing nothing but unpacking and spending time with his sister. He hadn't had time to even think about texting Andi for their “date” and would immediatly blush at the thought of it. Then of course Dani would ask just what he was blushing at and Matt would just look away fro her and clam up even more. Eventually she learned to stop asking. It wasn't getting her anywhere. Matt did know that Dani was getting suspicious and that was not a good thing. He knew he had to be careful about the way he acted in front of her. With that in mind He had been sitting at home that day I his room writing some stuff down when he got the feeling to text Andi.

Then of course he proceeded to fumble through his thought for the next five minutes o attempt to work up her nerve and actually text her. He just sort of stared at it almost wiling it to buzz or something. He wasn't aware of what exactly was going on but all he knew is that he was getting butterflies in his stomach just thinking about the girl who had stolen his notebook. And refused to give it back for that matter. While he was remembering their meeting Matt's phone buzzed. For a minute or two he just stared at it. Slowly he opened it and looked at the text from Andi.

Quickly writing out a reply Mat smiled nonetheless at the phone chuckling at her wording.

Well Hi, I a doing good how are you? Four days huh? Basically I've just been helping my parents unpack. How about you? How are you doing?

Matt smiled as he silently hit send and then moved over to his bed and sat down. There was no way he was writing anything else tonight. Setting his phone down on his pillow he had to smile at the ceiling. He slowly began to think again of their first meeting as he waited for a reply.

She sat there, wondering what he was doing. Was he busy writing another story? Or talking to his sister? Oh goodness, Andi had almost forgotten about Dani. Sooner or later, Andi would need to meet the girl. She thought about all of this as she sat on a chair in front of her vanity, various hair ties and brushes and other things scattered across the top, brushing her drying hair as the waves she desperately didn’t want ran across her fingers.

Her phone buzzed on her bedside table.

She turned with such a speed, reaching for the phone, that she fell to her knees with a loud thump, her fingers knocking the phone onto the floor. “That was not funny,” she muttered to herself as she slid the phone open, reading Matt’s text. She smiled and started typing, her thumbs flying over the slider keyboard.

I’ve been fine, just been working on school and my motorcycle and stuff. When I’m not doing that, I’m brainstorming ideas for our “date”. It’s been really boring since I last saw you.

She hit send, then realized how the text must sound. She smacked her forehead with her palm and stretched on the floor. “I’m such an idiot,” she muttered to herself.

Matt silently waited for his phone to buzz again, taking the time to get up and change into a pair of shorts. He wasn't going anywhere else and it was getting dark out so he figured it would be best to change now. Sighing he waited for the apparent buzz that would signal her return of a text.

Once finished he grabbed his notebook and went over to his bed to lay back down. He contemplating re reading some of his stuff and fixing a few things but he realized it was not going to happen. Instead he decided to work on his sisters present. Grinning he smiled. A lot of research had gone into this present. He was writing a story where, basically Dani, fell into the anime world and had to go on a quest to figure out how to get back to the real world. So far it was a secret from his sister, she just thought he was writing something as usual. Little did she know it was his present.


Matt heard his phone buzz and quietly looked it over. He didn't see anything wrong with the text and promptly began to reply to it,

You own a motorcycle? Awesomeness, though it really isn't safe is it? I mean... I dunno what I mean, it just doesn't feel safe.

Matt blushed at the next few lines of text and immediately looked it over before taking his time to reply. How did he want to reply? Matt was not sure but he knew he better do it soon.

Our date? Oh right. It has been really boring since I've last seen you also. Mostly its unpacking unpacking unpacking. There is not a lot of time for just sitting around. My parents want everything unpacked. And soon. That just means I'm doing the brunt of the work.


Matt had to send the text over two it was so long. He hoped that she wouldn't mind. Pressing send he set the phone down and waited for her reply.

[Andi Thalis]

She was laying on the floor of her dorm room, looking at her ceiling as she waited for Matt’s reply. Her hair was fanned out on the carpet, red undertones glowing under the dark brown as her hazel eyes analyzed every crack, every chip of paint on the ceiling. Really, she was pathetic. Waiting for a guy’s text message? It was so unlike her. She was an attractive, sexual young woman who could catch any guy she wanted, if she set her mind to it, yet she was waiting for a text message from a guy she barely knew.

What in the hell was wrong with her?

Her phone, currently residing on her stomach, buzzed twice, sending a pleasant sensation through her body. She lifted the phone up and over her head, sliding it open to read the two text messages from him. “Aww,” she said as she finished reading, and started replying.

Yeah, I have a motorcycle, and it is quite dangerous to ride, but I’ve had instruction on what to do if something should happen, so I’m good. And AWW! Unpacking sucks! If you ever need help, I’m here! Anyway, I was thinking bowling…does that sound like fun?

Hitting send had never felt so good. Andi smiled and got off the floor and laid in her own bed, placing the phone on her abdomen as she closed her eyes, waiting.

Matt let himself get absorbed into the story and was happy to wait for the text from Andi back. He knew he was not the most attentive person, especially when he was absorbed in his writing, but he kept an ear out for the phone if it were to buzz. He was just writing in some of the characters from Full Metal Alchemist when he heard it buzz again. Quickly finishing up that part Matt slid the phone back over to look at it.

Looking at the text he smiled.

As long as you have had instruction then I can't worry too much. You do seem like the type of girl to go on a motorcycle ride, not to mention own one. Its all good though. I think the worst part about it was carrying all of Dani's boxes up the tower. That was torture. Up and down those endless stairs. Other then that it was fine I guess. We are almost all settled in. Bowling sounds good... Though I have never been. You'll have to teach me.

Matt clicked the button that was send. He went back to writing Dani's present while he waited for her to text him back.

[Andi Thalis]

She felt herself nodding off again, dreaming of a dark-eyed boy who gave her quiet smiles and wrote stories of magical lands that came to life. She could feel her head moving from its upright position to list to the side, her body making itself comfortable despite what the girl wanted. The last four days had taken a lot out of her, but damnit if she was taken away from texting Matt before they planned their date. She blinked her eyes a couple of times slowly, noticing that the sun had died outside and the only light she had was from her lamp.

Her phone buzzed again and her hands were slow to react, making sure her heartbeat wasn’t erratic before she opened her phone and read the text message. She smiled at the bike mention, for everyone she had met told her that she didn’t look like the tough chick; she looked like a cheerleader, to be honest. Her thumbs started texting back.

You’re not the first person to say that I don’t look like a biker girl, and that’s fine with me and I’m sorry about so many stairs, the realtors think that bigger is better, therefore more of those evil stairs. About the bowling…I’d love to teach you!

Smiling, she hit send and waited for his reply.

The time was flying for Matt. He was so absorbed in the story that he barely recognized the fat that is was already dark out. He only really noticed when the shadow from his small lamp loomed over the bed and notebook. He was Aware though that it was getting harder and harder for him to read the notebook and what he had already written. Frowning he got up and turned on a lamp that allowed enough light for him to write and not wake up his parents who were just down the hall.

After moving back to the bed he realized that he had missed her text back. Smiling he realized that she must be sleepy, after all it was getting late. Smiling he read the text that was definitely from her, as it just had her sort of voice. He chuckled at how she didn't care if people said she didn't look like a biker girl. Smiling a bit he made out his reply and smiled all the while.

Well, you certainly have that “spark” that is common in all bikers I suppose. Its all good. Going up and down the stairs may be mundane and boring but it serves it purpose All right then. Bowling. Frankly all I know is that you put the ball down the path and try to knock down the pins.Other then that I'm fairly clueless... Do you know where the bowling Alley is? I don't I'm afraid.

Matt smiled and hit send on his phone trying to get the thing to send. Smiling he set his phone back down in its usual place and went back to writing.

To keep herself awake, Andi got off her bed and placed her phone on her bedside table, walking to the center of her room. Taking a deep breath, she started doing some yoga while listening to some calming music. She was partway through a set when she heard her phone buzz. She smiled and walked over, cocking her hip as she opened her phone and read the text message.

Sometimes, the boy was just too cute.

Thank you for the compliment! And you’re right about the bowling, but there’s also a way that you throw the ball, and a certain position you have to be in after you throw said ball, and all that fun stuff. Don’t worry, I know where it is…do you have a car? Unless you want to ride the bike…[/size]

She didn’t know how he would feel riding on the back of her bike, so she hit send and went back to her yoga.

Matt himself was fairly awake but the time was passing quickly. He was absorbed in the writing and he was almost done with the story. Now he just had to figure out the ending. Sighing h began to rack his brains for the ending. He just couldn't figure it out. That in itself was annoying to him. He knew how he wanted it to end he just couldn't figure out How to make it how he wanted it to end. Sighing he head the buzz of his phone with a new text message. Smiling he looked over at it and took his time to reply.

You are quite welcome, and there are positions to this game? I don't have a clue do I?Awesome that you know where it is. Yes I do have a car. A blue Honda Civic actually. I think though that me on a bike would not be a good thing. I might fall off... Nope, I'll leave the bike riding to you. Your good at it.

Matt hit send and tried his hardest to figure out the details of the story.

She finished a set of meditative moves as soon as she heard her phone ring. Feeling tired, and a bit energetic for all of the weariness she felt, she picked up the phone as soon as she sat on the bed, opening it with practiced fingers. She smiled at his confusion of the game of bowling and blushed at his compliment, even though he wasn’t there. Her thumbs started moving again.

Not really positions, just a certain way you stand after throwing the ball down the lane…I’ll show you once we get there. How about, the night before the date, I’ll text you the address so we can both meet up there? I think it would be easier, but if you want to drive together, I can come over and we can use your car.

She hit send and stretched out her body on her bed, waiting for his reply.

Matt Finally figured out the story he had planned. Now all he had do was type it out and hide it. All in all it was pretty long around fifty pages front and back. He was going to have a lot of tying but that was okay. Eventually he would bind it into a book for her but his money needed to be saved at the moment.He read the text that came along and replied with an easy movement.

I see, And the driving is up to you. As long as I don't make an utter fool of myself I'm up for just about anything. When should we be meeting again?

Matt sent the text with a sigh and looked over at the clock. It had gotten late and he did need to be up in the morning Dani had said something about moving more stuff. Honestly the girl had too much stuff.

It was getting late, and Andi was yawning by the time she got Matt’s message. After this, she would sleep, she told herself and she picked up her cell phone and looked at the message. It made her laugh a little; Matt was too cute sometimes. Her thumbs moved over the keyboard.

We can meet up later next week, since I think I have some pretty big tests coming up this week and next. I’ll text you the address at the beginning of next week, and we can meet up at the bowling alley. I know it’s late, and I’m sorry for keeping you up. I’m gonna go to bed now, goodnight, Matt. <3

She hit send and hooked the phone to the charger, waiting until the red light came on before turning off her lamp and slipping under the covers. Thoughts of coffee and Matt danced in her head as she closed her eyes, and she fell asleep with a smile on her face.

Matt was almost asleep when he got Andi's text. He looked at the phone halfheartedly before sending a casual reply to the other girls phone. She would get it int the morning anyway and he was sleepy.

All right, sounds good. Its ok. I didn't mind being kept up And its just about bed time for me also. I shall await your text miss witch, and have a good night.

Sending the message through the texting world Matt put down his phone and turned it off waiting for it to charge. He got up and turned off all of the lights to then go back and lay down. Letting himself fall into the world of Dreams Matt had a smile on his face as he anticipated the text that would occur.
