Back At Your Door - Thomas

[Sett Richmond]

Sett was ruthless. He had employed his sweet, sweet sister as his reconnaissance partner in order to snag Thomas. The past few weeks, he'd been riddled with images of the small French young man and he just couldn't stop them from invading his nights.

Sakhmet had been more than willing to help him. She was a true romantic which was why he didn't divulge her in what he was planning to do. She would surely knock him down a peg or two for pissing all over the sacred art of courtship.

It was raining. Heavily, for a summer night. He couldn't believe he was stealing a scene from a really cheesy romantic movie that had been deemed the best romantic movie ever made since Gone With The Wind. Yeah. Sure.

Slipping his phone out from his pocket, he looked for Thomas' number and typed in.

Hey, where are you?

Clearly he was no wordsmith. Pressing send, he waited under a shade before Thomas replied.

Thomas was in bed, as always, his sheets twisted around his barely clothed body, and his hands twisted around the hard cover of a good book. His eyes peered through black frames - his far too dorky reading glasses were the only thing that kept him from getting headaches when reading. He read as the main character and her love interest climbed into a cave to avoid the rain. Their romance had been building for the past few chapters, and Thomas' eyes grew wide as the book mentioned them moving closer. Their eyes locked, their hands yearned, and just as their lips were mentioned, Thomas' phone went off.

His immediate reaction was to ignore it. His guess was it was a friend wanting to go out, and Thomas was not leaving this room to go into the heavy rain outside. He wanted to go back to reading, but felt this nagging that maybe, just maybe it was...

It was Sett. Asking where he was. Thomas was not going anywhere, even for Sett, so he replied shortly in an attempt to discourage a request to go to Kali's.

Hahaha at home. What's up?

Thomas rolled over in his bed, throwing his book to the side, and putting his phone on his chest. A smirk filled his features as he thought about Sett, and his hair in this rain.

Perfect, thought Sett, smiling. Fiddling with his bumped and scratched up phone, the shifter finally replied with:

Come downstairs, please. The please was added as an afterthought. He figured if he were to ask someone to come down in the rain, he might as well be polite about it. Even if everything was a complete and utter farce.

Before he hit send, he put in a wink icon for measure. And when it was sent, he immediately regretted it. But he could do nothing about it but hope Thomas didn't think he was too cheesy for having done it.

...

Oh hell, let him think Sett was cheesy. He had nothing to lose tonight.

Thomas smirked wildly as his phone vibrated against his chest and lit up his room. He grabbed it and turned over, reading it while lying on his stomach and kicking his feet up to rest on his quads, like he was posing for the teen protagonist in a romantic comedy. The position was short lived as Thomas registered what was on the screen, jumped from his bed and did the most unfortunate dance to the various items in his room (Imagine something like this). The song he sang was a half French, half English jumble about him having game, being desirable, and having a boy waiting in the rain for him.

He stopped once he realized that he was leaving an incredibly attractive boy in the rain waiting for his response, and essentially mashed his thumbs into the keys to make some attempt at a hard-to-get, not totally excited message.

"It's pouring out there! Are you crazy?"

Sett grinned at the reply, shaking his head at how hard this actually was. He was just glad the rain was sort of warmish tonight. Even though he was not effected by the cold anymore; his manifestation made sure he remained as warm as possible at all times, he figured he didn't want Thomas to get sick. Not on his watch.

Quickly, he responded.

Then get an umbrella. It's not so bad. Just get downstairs, Thomas.

Thomas paced back and forth in anticipation as he waited for the text from Sett. He expected something quick, snide, and dripping with sarcasm. Instead, he got something more... eager. More excited - and it made Thomas' stomach fill with butterflies. He realized he was shirtless, again, and wasn't looking to continue this as a trend, so he threw on a blue tee shirt that sat in a bundle on the floor. He hadn't noticed his glasses were still on, but ran to his front door and slipped on his flip flops.

Umbrella. Did he have an umbrella? "Tabernac...." He scurried through their closet to see if Sloane had one. He pulled one animal print umbrella out, and opened it in his apartment to see two of the arms on the umbrella had broken. He doubted it was hers at that moment; Sloane had no use for broken things. Or people. Perfect. He threw it back into the closet, and ran out his front door and down the stairs.

The door was left open, his lights were left on, and Thomas was left with nothing more than the urge to see his face. And kiss it.
