A dissatisfied grunt escaped the teen as he sat up from his bed, roused from his sleep by the loud ringing of his alarm clock. He just sat there, staring blankly at the wall in front of him, rubbing his bare stomach absentmindedly as he yawned. It took a few more minutes before he finally turned his alarm off and stood up, grabbing a white towel as he went out his room for a bath.
Saturdays were supposed to be sleep-in days. While Romeo isn’t the type to party all night longyet, he does stay up all night playing video games in one of his other friends’ rooms. And last night was no different, as he stayed up in his friend’s Leroy’s room as they tried out the newly released Modern Warfare sequel. (He’s getting better at playing with them now, winning in 3 out of the 15 rounds thath they played). He would’ve played more really, had he not remembered that he still has to meet someone at 11am (so early!) in the library for a group project.
The bath did little to wake the Irish boy up, the boy’s eyes still half-lidded and yawns still escaping him periodically as he walked out of his room in the barest of clothes – shirt, shorts, jacket, shoes. Hopefully he doesn’t get a cold.
Entering the library with a messenger bag in hand, he gave the librarian a smug wave before looking for his brunette groupmate. The library was mostly empty, so spotting her wasn’t as hard as he would’ve thought it’d be.
“Sorry I was late babe,” he said, flashing a haughty grin as he placed his bag on the table, taking a seat opposite her, “Alarm went off late.” More like he woke up late despite his loud alarm, not that she needs to know that. “You computed the standard solution concentrations yet? No matter how hard I try, I just can’t get the whole titration thing. And I haven’t made much progress with the discussion portion of our lab report. Those different kinds of acids and bases just screw me up so much.”
Despite his failings though, Romeo would like to insist that he’s not dumb. Slow and a little dense, but not dumb.
