Olivia lay on the floor of her room, the door locked and the shades down. All of the lights were off and she had a warm washcloth on her head. She was covered in every blanket she owned and had a bucket next to her, just in case. She hadn't eaten all day, and it had to be at least 4 pm already. But even at the thought of food, her stomach heaved and threatened to push up whatever she'd eaten the day before. She felt awful. This was the sickest she had ever been, and it sucked. She couldn't sleep. She couldn't eat. She was freezing but burning hot to the touch. Worst of all she had a pounding migraine that felt like shards of glass in her head.
She moaned and rolled over onto her stomach, then pushing herself up by her palms. For a moment she just stood there on her hands and knees, squeezing her eyes shut and finding the will to stand up and flick the lights on. She groaned again at the brightness and grabbed a pair of dark sunglasses, also pulling on some warm sweatpants, a T-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, and a sweatshirt, followed by a hat and thin gloves. Even after all of that, she was still cold. She couldn't just lay here all day. She wanted to at least return a few books to the library and maybe get a few new ones. It's something she had been putting off for a long time, and what better time then when she had nothing to do than lay on the floor feeling sorry for herself?
Olivia stumbled tiredly down the hallway, clutching two books in her hands. One of which she had neglected to finish. The other one she had read simply for a class. It really depended on her mood to tell whether she liked to read a lot. Usually it was just a good pass time. She stepped out into the cold air (cold to her) and in the direction of the library. She knew that she looked awful and strange covered up like this, but the flu was going around and people would understand. At least they should.
After what seemed like a freezing walk that took forever, she finally reached the building. At this time Olivia was seriously regretting her decision to come here, but it was way too late to turn back now. She entered the library and dropped the books off, then gazed at the shelves and shelves of words and pages and covers. It was all a jumble to her. Without a second glance she pulled a thinner book off the rack. A split second later she realized it was the wrong book to choose. The domino affect took it's toll and a ton of books dropped off of the shelf and fell on the ground in a cluttered mess. She sighed sadly and started to lean down, but then got dizzy all of the sudden and ended up on the floor herself. There she began to stack the books. One by one. This had truly been a day from hell.
