Lost pencil. (Alyssa)

Rebecca picked up her paper for what felt that the hundreth time, she was sure she had a pencil just a moment ago, and then she went to go get a book and when she came back it was gone, with a quick survey of the room she was sure that someone did not steal her pencil and went back to finding it.

"Should of brought a pen..this stinks" Becca mummbled to herself.

She huffed and pushed some of her hair out of her face and decided that she could just finish her reading and then maybe if she remembered it all she coudl right it all down once she got back to her dorm, that was, if she could get past the thought that she had actually lost something to finish reading her book.

After about 5 minutes of reading Becca couldnt take it, she had to find her pencil, there was no way it just dissapeared, only she could do that! She pushed out her chair and crawled under the table, maybe she would findd it under here, but all she succeded in doing was bumping her head on the underside of the table.

Sitting down under the table Beca wanted to cry, she knew it was just a pencil but she was not used being so frazzled that she actually lost something, expecally in a library, the place she was the most comfortable in.

Hanging out in the library wasn't usually the first place she went. But with her father being home and her brother had class, she went to the only other place she could think of. She saw a butt before she saw the face. A pencil sat at the bottom of her shoe and she wondered who was looking for it. It was your normal yellow, number two pencil.

"Hey, girl! Are you looking for this?" she said, bending to pick it up and wiggle it between her fingers. She could see she was almost wanting to cry, but she wondered what was wrong. "Hey, are you going to answer me?"

Rebecca took a deep breath trying to control the fact that she wanted to cry over something so completely stupid when she heard someone call out to her, trying to crawl out from under the table would of been a normal responce but all Rebecca could think of was that she would probably bump her head and look stupid so she just offered a smile.

"Oh! um...sorry..Yeah thats mine, thank you!"

Becca ran her sleeve over her eyes to make sure there were no tears that had falling by mistake and did her best to sloowwly come out from under the table, succeding in getting out without a bump on the head.

"I dropped it, and I just..couldnt find it." With a sigh Becca tried to smile and look super friendly, hoping she didnt look as awkward as she felt. "Hi...I'm Becca.."

Alyssa glared at the mouse like thing. She didn't want to be in the library. She had actually hoped it would be completely empty, so she could just brood in one of the chairs and not come in human contact at all. But something about this girl, she was probably easy to manipulate.

"Yeah, yeah," Lyssa said, waving her off vaguely. She didn't have time for sniveling girls, she wanted to find her book and get the hell out of dodge, which was going to be hard if she didn't get away from this girl in time. "Names Lyssa." She walked off, heading towards the shelves, unaware of what she wanted to find.

Rebecca smiled but it was short lived as she watched the other girl walk towards the books, quickly following her Becca did something she never really did, she offered help.

"Hey um..do you need help finding something? I spend a lot of time in here, I could..help if you needed something?"

Becca really wanted to make more friends and at this point she was willing to do anything, even if it meant her having to start talking alot more, which was something she hardly ever did.

Alyssa whirled on the poor mouse and glared her down. What was this girl thinking? Didn't she know her at all? Perhaps she was new, and this could make an interesting conversation. "You're not scared of me?" she asked, running her hands absent-mindedly as the shelves.

"Haven't you heard of my reputation? What I've done over the past year?"

She wasn't in the mood for mind games and she turned to face Becca.

Rebcca flinched and she couldnt help but feel like she was backing herself into a cage when something that was said confused her. Why would she be scared of someone she had just met?

"Scared? no i just..what reputation?..I dont talk to people..so.I dont really know ...um..should i?"

Flinching again when Alssya looks at her, she was getting very curious of the seemingly angry girl infront of her and all these questions were just making it worse, she now really wanted to get to know her and find out why she was being kind of deffensive, and what kind of reputation did this girl have that she expected everyone to know about?
