Trying to Make my Other Selves (Sidra)

Duplication. Of all the powers she could get making more of herself? She wished she had something cooler like flight or phasing, or even reading peoples thoughts. But no she can make more then one of herself and she still could not figure out how she did it. She stood in the middle of the room trying to remember, every time she had been thinking of two things that needed to be done at once.

She put her hand on her head. Ok! So, think of two things to do at once. She had to really think, she had homework to be done and wanted to work on this more. She was suddenly torn thinking about the catch up work she still had and she bit her lip. A funny feeling happened at that moment and when she turned her head an identical body stood next to her.

"Yes i did it!" her and her duplicate said at the same time. That was a little creepy.

"Lah-dee-frickin' dah," A voice called from the other side of the room, a bathrobe being belted around her waist. Her clothes were in the locker room, and it was best to have something available to wrap up in for when she re-hardened, as it were. Clothes didn't shift with her when she went intangible, a fact that Sidra found most annoying.

"Your first time, princess?" The Georgian accent was cold, but that wasn't uncommon for the gothic teen. Though her face wasn't painted in complete white face, but she was pale. In fact, none of her makeup was one. The usual carefully painted gothicness wasn't there. It wasn't a part of her molecular structure so didn't stay when she went intangible. Another annoyance.

Sidra MUCH preferred going in the opposite direction of diamond hard, at least then she still looked like she wanted to. Her custom fangs wouldn't fall out, and her carefully constructed outfits for the day didn't fall off.

Tieing the belt she stepped over and studied the duplicate and the girl. "Looks all right but what if I poke it?" She did so, the jab of her forefinger sharp and meant to inflict pain. Her irritation at how her abilities worked and their limitation had to be taken out on someone, and the poor excited duplicator was it.

She was disappointed when her good mood was ruined already. She yelped in pain when she was poked by the other girl she pushed the hand away. "Hey! I'm the real one thats not nice." she said rubbing her shoulder where she was poked and looked at her duplicate thinking for a moment. Well at least they could mot be told apart that was promising.

"And so what if its my first time? I'm new here this is pretty good for someone who is just learning." she reached her hand out and touched her duplicate which disappeared. She suddenly got a feeling of exhaustion and sank to a sitting position trying to collect her head again. That was weird.

"whats your ability anyway? Poking people?" she asked looking up at the other girl.

Sidra snorted impolitely. "Pretty good, sure. Whatever. Usually more than one pop out a time. It's CONTROLLING them that's the hard part." Not that she had any real authority on the matter, Sidra was just being Sidra.

Crossing her plush black terrycloth covered arms over her chest, she sneered, but the effect was lessened as there were no fangs to make it that much more menacing.

"You could say that. I go intangible or as dense as a diamond depending on which way I want." The only problems were she couldn't keep her damn clothes or makeup. And if she ever wanted a tattoo, she'd be paying for it several times since ink wasn't part of her molecular structure either. God it sucked.

"You can't hide behind the excuse of I'm new," she made her voice go up an octave and let it draw out into a whine, "Forever you know."

"But while i am I can still use it." she said getting to her feet running her fingers threw her hair she got to her feet trying to keep herself from losing her balance again. "Look making one duplicate takes a lot out of me, when I get a little more trained then I can probably do more." she sighed and looked at the other girl. "whats your name?" she asked wondering if it was one on the list of people to avoid, if not this girl probably should be put on it."

After a moment she put her hands on her hips. "Can I practice with out an older student being mean to me?" she asked wondering why she seemed to be attracting people with attitude. Was anyone in this school happy about anything?

"My name is not one you need to familiarize yourself with. And good luck on practicing at all if just one duplicate wears you out. Poor wilting flower." The last sentence was said with exactly the kind of quaver that left no room for thinking it was anything but mockery.

Spreading her arms wide, Sidra let out a bark of laughter that, had she been back home, would have sent her younger brother scurrying away because Si was not to be messed with. "Maybe you should go do something a little less taxing. And leave the practicing to people who can actually utilize the space well enough for it to matter, huh?" Flicking her wrists in a 'go on shoo' move, Sidra arched her eyebrows. Perhaps she had forgotten for the moment that she wasn't in all of her gothy regalia, but rather a simple black terry cloth robe with terry cloth bat wings sewn onto the back. One of her very first modification jobs.

"Or," a sinister grin spread across her face, "You could stick around and let me see how well I can walk through people. I haven't really tried that one yet on purpose. Who knows what will happen."

"I am not going to let you scare me." she said firmly crossing her arms slightly. Inside she was freaking out. "I was in here first and I want to practice." she said wondering if she thought of three things she needed to do she could pull two instead of one out. She sighed after a moment putting her hands up. "Its a big room lets just split it, I'll be over here doing my own thing and you do yours." she said moving away rolling her eyes. She knew she should be afraid of the girl but thats what she wanted. She told herself she must be brave even if it was insane.

"And if you try to go threw me I'll tell a teacher, that seems like an attack." she said clearly a kid making a comment like that. Why would she have such faith in the teachers any other way. Oh to be young. She took her breath as she started to think of three things to try to duplicate herself again. She managed one who looked confused and she sighed a little annoyed. Was she supposed to be able to make more then one?
