So wrong place to sleep! <Zaer and Jalen>

After the run in with Aki and an overnight stay in the infirmary Kessa hit bottom, instead of avoiding sleep she slept almost all the time and today was no different, yet she didn’t want anyone to find her and began to sleep in the most unusual spots to slumber.

She would skip math today and started to look for a spot where there wasn’t going to be any traffic. Wandering the halls with her wrist that was placed into a splint because she had broken it and her collarbone diving into too shallow water after a drowning person that she would later learn was Aki after she had let loose and lost control on her, Kessa had vowed to keep well away from the girl.

There didn’t seem to be anyone near the training rooms and careful checked the sign up sheets for one that would be void of any activity that day, or at least she hoped that would be the case.

Entering the empty room that had had a bench in it that she would drag by the door so she could sleep behind it without anyone seeing her in there even if they opened the door and took a peek in.

Unknowing to Kessa it would be the wrong place to sleep as others would come just a few hours later.

Jalen hadn’t started training again, beginning to get a full grip on her powers. She didn’t think they could develop further, but she was starting to get really bad headaches again – a sign of her powers growing. At least that’s how they had manifested before, so why should these headaches be any different. The blonde passed by many training rooms, many of which were occupied. Only one seemed empty, so she silently entered the room and shut the door, taking her scarf off and placing it over the knob.

The blonde was starting to get back in the swing of things, wearing her usual getup off black high heel boots, skinny jeans, a band t-shirt, and dark eye makeup. Jalen put her book bag down and started to whistle, the sound waves appearing short and close together. She held her hands up in front of her, collecting the waves in a tight ball, which wobbled between her palms uneasily. To anyone watching, it would seem like Jalen’s body was wiggling and being warped, but really it was just the air in front of her.

She smiled, finding this new ability interesting. Jalen knew she could manipulate sound waves, but containing them was a form of manipulation she didn’t know she could do. It happened accidentally a couple of weeks ago when she was singing in the shower and brushing her teeth, a small ball of sound had gathered in her hand which held the brush, bursting out in a loud pop. She thought something had fallen from the side of the tub, and it took her a while to figure out what she had done.

Now she was standing in a training room by herself, ball of sound waves between her hands which she simply kept rolling around, knowing that if she slipped, a very loud bang would be heard.

Zaer was in need of some training. Really, lately he had been doing quite well. He had given up completely with water and ignored it, making it go away as he more concentrated on ice. Some kinds of wall techniques were what he had been working on lately, and they were useful. Of course, he had been working pretty hard lately to keep his powers in check and work on them. They needed the practice and all that jazz to get stronger. Well, he needed the practice anyway.

He was listening to all the rooms, seeing that most if not all were used. The list had said there was only one free room, and there was a scarf on the handle, so someone had to be in there. Well, hopefully they would be in the mood to share the space with him. Hopefully. There was the chance he could run into someone with a personality like Zac or Mia who thought they were all that or who hated humanity. So that led him to be slightly apprehensive about going in there. Although he really did need to practice......

He sighed and just went in. There was a familiar face there, one he had seen around the campus before. He couldn't remember her name, but he knew she was a pretty nice person.
" Uhh, do you mind if I train in here too?" He asked, trying not to startle her. He wasn't exactly sure what she was doing and didn't want anything to explode.

Dinner with her mother and two sisters was a blast, they gave her a necklace of a foal and her sisters gave her a bracelet, the warm, the love the connection between them strong, Kessa was happy to be with them away from the institute that she had called home for the past few months after learning of her “ability” yet she could not control it even with the help of the institute she wasn’t any closer to control then that day in the kitchen when she saw that kids face on the TV screen.

After dinner on the way home the winding road and the darkness a truck appears and her mother over corrects sending the car out of control over a rail and down the steep hill, the auto rolling over and over until it hit’s the bottom of the cavern it bursts into flames.

Kessa is enveloped in the fire and screams as the flames burn thru her fair skin.

In the training room behind the bench where Kessa hid herself from view still trapped in her nightmare she tosses and turns, her screams now could be clearly heard by those around her.

Jalen held the ball of sound in front of her with ease, her dark eyes glancing up only once when she saw someone come into the room. She smiled, letting her collection of sound fade away into soundwaves no one but her could detect. That, or something that could hear really low pitched noises. “Not at all, the other rooms are all booked,” she said, doing her best to be nice to the guy who just decided to come in. She didn’t see it as rude, it just made sense for her to use the room too – that’s what they were there for.

It also helped that he was cute.

The blonde was about to introduce herself, but the sounds of someone moaning and squirming about came clearly to her sensitive ears. She spun on the spot, following the source of the noise until a girl about her age was seen, about to roll onto the floor from the bench she was snoozing on. Jalen rushed to her side, pushing her back on the bench before she fell to the hard gymnasium floor. “Are you alright? This probably isn’t the best place to sleep,” she said, holding the girls shoulders, shaking her gently.

Jalen glanced at the boy in the room. “I’m sorry, I don’t know your name but,” she glanced back at the sleepy girl, “he and I were going to train together. You’re welcome to stay if you like.” The blonde smiled, thinking about telling the girl that if she needed someone to talk to, she was a good listener, but not when there was a third party. The redhead was probably feeling embarrassed enough at this point.

Zaer was a little confused at this point. He was glad that he could train, and maybe even with another person. That would realy e the best. When the girl he was talking to rushed over to someone else Zaer didn't really know what to do. The way her fce was scrunched up made her look like she as in pain, and that wasn't good. Really, it wasn't.

" Umm, should we be trying to take her to the infirmiry or something? I mean, she doesn't exactly look all happy and rainbowy you know?" He said. Zaer realized he hadn't said his name yet, and rolled his eyes at himself.

" I'm Zaeric by the way. Or Zaer if you prefer." Or Z, or whatver else you feel like calling me. He thought. The blonde girl was cute, and he had to smile wider just thinking it. It'd be nice to get to know a few more people. And didn't he recognize her from around the institute? Zaeric tried to recall her name, but had no luck. It just seemed to slip away, even though he wa sure he knew it.
