A dozen light-bulbs, screwed into wooden blocks, sat scattered around the perimeter of the empty training room. In the center Roland sat cross legged on the floor holding his hands closed together so it looked almost like he was praying with his eyes closed. He was wearing his two metal rings on his middle fingers and sparks were flying off of them in small numbers. He had shed his over shirt and was wearing a simple black tee and a pair of clean jeans. Roland's hair rose on top of his head as he focused and static crackled in the air around him.
Roland threw his arms out and opened his eyes. His arms were no longer the solid fleshy appendages he had grown up with, in there place were spattering, shifting arms of pure electricity. Roland still had trouble assuming his full electrical form at will and controlling it so he was focusing more on getting each part of his body to change individually as a workout. This was the third time in a row he had succeeded in calling out his electrical body's arms and he grinned.
"Now comes the hard part." Roland whispered as he looked around the room.
Roland was still trying to get used to the low level static electricity his body liked to emit from time to time, not to mention how when he was frustrated or angry he tended to feel himself slipping into his electrical body or accidentally causing electrical equipment to overcharge. He needed to learn how to control his body's output of electricity and how to master his electrokinesis and he thought this was one way to do it. The goal of the exercise was to get every light bulb he had set around the room to light up. That was simple enough, the hard part was directing and controlling an electricity blast with enough energy to power the bulb but not too much as to blow it up.
Roland extended his pointer and pinky fingers out and watched as small beams of electricity shot from his fingertips and into two of the bulbs. Each bulb glowed brightly and held firm and Roland grinned as sweat began to form on his brow.
"Okay now to do two more" He said
Roland extended his power into the bulbs beside the ones he was currently powering when he felt it happen. He lost focus for a single second and his power loosed itself. The two bulbs he had focused on popped and so did about four other ones. Roland felt his arms slacken and they returned to their normal human form as the electricity repressed itself back into his body.
"Great, that went well."
