The Basics
Name: Brilliance Cairo Gideon
Nicknames: Professor G, Bri
Age: Twenty Seven
Orientation: Bisexual
Desired Rank/Job: Researcher
(Brilliance's areas of study is how Power Exploitation, Origins and Manipulation. In other words, she focuses on where a power comes from, how to use it and when it is best to use it)
Powers:
Emotion Doubles
Brilliance's power is a rather unusual one but basically she can summon creatures that are made of pure energy to assist her in a lot of ways. These creatures look like giant Lego block figures who all have a combination of energy facial expressions ranging from angry to happy. They are her emotions. In other words, these constructs will embody those said emotions depending on what emotion Brilliance used to create this block creature.
She can't control the creatures once they are created which is why Brilliance has to focus on the created creature's purpose before creating it. Sometimes, her powers can go haywire and she'll create something like an anger double block man and said blockman could destroy her laboratory. That is why Brilliance rarely uses this power unless she has to. She has to be careful even when flirting with someone because she could create a perverted blockman that could grope the person.
In terms of the physical characteristics of these blockmen they are rather large. Each of them stand at six feet, four inches tall and are bulky. They are colored coded based off emotions. For example, anger would be red, happiness would be a bright yellow and sadness would be black. They are decently strong with each of them being able to bench press two hundred pounds. They are not fast. They can only run as fast as an overweight person who hasn't worked out in a while could.
These blockmen can only exist for a maximum of one hour at a time and that is just for one blockman. She can create multiple blockmen but that takes a lot of energy, concentration and a lot of annoyance. She can only create up to four at a time and each of those blockmen can last for five minutes at a time. While she is using her power Brilliance can look like a brain dead zombie sometimes depending on how many blockmen she made. If she makes four of them she'll actually lose her emotions and be emotionless with the emotions she used to create her minions. This could be particularly dangerous for her. For example, if she creates an adrenaline based blockman she would lose her adrenaline rush which can affect her flight or fight instincts. Not good when she is faced with a life or death situation.

The Details
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Hazel
Any Piercings? None
Any Tattoos?
She has a tattoo of a Lego Malibu Barbie Doll over her heart.
Any Scars? Two scars are on her back from when she first materialized a blockman and got into a fight with it. Clearly, Brilliance lost that fight.
General Appearance:
Brilliance is rather tall compared to the average woman with her stance being at six feet tall. She is slender in build and works out enough whereas she doesn't have a trace of fat on her. Her glasses always covers her face as they are way too big. Her hair is always rolled up into a bun. She doesn't like nail styles and often bites her finger nails. Basically, she looks like a nerd at all times.
Her clothes aren't much to talk about. She barely has any as she wears the same thing almost all of the time. Brilliance is under the impression that wearing blue jeans everyday of the week is okay because she believes that blue jeans goes with everything. Tee shirts are her favorite. To her, there is absolutely no need to do major shopping for clothes. There is no clothing item she believes to be true more for than shoes. She isn't the stereotypical female and goes shoe shopping often. Instead, she'll wear a pair of plain jane tennis shoes or running shoes. Her favorite brand is New Balance. She does a lot of writing on her clothes. Most of the things she writes on said clothing are derogatory and utterly nasty. They tend to be messages to people about the things that she hates and the people that she hates.
Personality:
Brilliance is an absolute geek. She loves dungeons and dragons, Munchkin, trading card games like Pokemon and cartoon animation of the Japanese persuasion. She has been known to spend large sums of money on trading card games, manga books, comic books and has been known to spend even more cash on upgrading her computer. Sometimes, she can completely detach herself from the world and trap herself in the world of comic book reading and World of Warcraft mastery.
In terms of research, Brilliance can be just as lifeless. She has been known to lock herself in her laboratory and research countless subjects for hours on end without rest or even stopping to use the restroom. In some ways, she is crazy and needs help. But she doesn't think so. Her devotion makes her a good scientist but a rather horrible person when it comes to social interaction. Once she is zoned in on something she has been known to completely ignore people, their problems, questions, concerns and their lives.
This woman probably will never have a significant other unless said person loves to be ignored and to be placed on the back burner for Brilliance's obsessions. She probably won't even go out on a date if she is just too busy with something. The main reason why this woman can't keep someone in her life that is special is because she places her research, her action figures, video games manga and Japanese things ahead of actual people.
There are a lot of emotions in this woman. She understands that some people are worried about her. That angers her though which explains why her anger blockman comes out so often. She doesn't understand why people can't just mind their own business and let her be herself. Sometimes, her sad blockman comes out in the end.
Brilliance is a Buddhist and believes in peace. She doesn't like war nor does she really care for violence but that doesn't mean she has been a non-violent person. She just doesn't like unnecessary conflict which is why she likes to be alone. Bri has problems when it comes to not making some people want to pick on her. She hates being picked on.

History
Even in grade school Brilliance Gideon was always the odd ball. In kindergarten she managed to be the only child at her school to ever set off sprinklers inside the school with a lighter that she found, bring in a stray dog into class and was the cause of that same said dog taking a crap on a teacher's desk. It was clear to her parents from the start that Brilliance plus school equals disaster. She always got into trouble. Sad part was that she didn't want the trouble that she got into so often. She was just trying to help. She set off the sprinklers to try to get that stray dog some water. She brought the dog in because it looks thirsty and hungry.
Oh, but there was another problem. Even at home and while being homeschooled Brilliance was a pain in the ass. She would do things like create a bug collection in her room, those bugs would almost always escape their jars and then her parents' home would become an insect zoo for a day. Or there was that time where she put a wad of paper towels into the toilet and managed to flood the bathroom and two other room. Unfortunately, the water contained her fecal matter so the smell was really bad. While in the child stage Brilliance had a lot of issues with herself because she realized how much trouble she caused. Her parents tried to convince her that her actions were not that bad even though they were lying to her. Brilliance didn't believe them. This is what caused her to, early on, separate herself from people sometimes.
The blockmen didn't appear until Brilliance had hit her peak of loneliness. She needed friends or just A friend in her life. No child should grow up without some kind of companion besides her parents. The girl cried. She would wreck her room. She'd even hide under her bed for hours at a time to try to punish herself. When her sadness just couldn't grow anymore a sad looking man that looked to be made of giant Legos appeared to her and cried as well. Brilliance was freaked out, ran to her parents and explained what happened. Naturally, her mom and dad found her story hard to believe. When they returned to her room the man was gone. She hadn't figured out how to keep the blockmen around for long. Brilliance knew she made the man because the second he appeared she was happy again. It was as if the man had absorbed her sadness in order for her to smile once more.
Brilliance didn't seem like a very happy child. She would do weird things like go in her room for hours, never show much interest in making friends or even talk on the phone like so many others at her young age liked to do. Another major concern by her parents was the fact that they discovered that their daughter was talking to herself at night time. At least, they thought she was only talking to herself. The reason her parents thought this was because Brilliance would speak and nobody would answer but that didn't mean nobody was present to hear her speak. It was her mother that discovered that perhaps Brilliance wasn't normal. It was one faithful evening that Brilliance's mom came into her room and immediately pulled out a cell phone to call the cops. A huge block man stood in her daughter's room. Her father ran into Brilliance's room with a loaded shotgun. Bri stood in front of her creation as if to suggest that if her dad wanted to shoot "Mr. Blockhead", as she called him, then her dad would have to shoot her as well. Her mother stopped in mid-sentence while talking to a 911 operator and hung up the phone. Her mom discovered that it was Brilliance who created this rather unusual creature.
No 12 year old with Brilliance's ability to get into trouble should have a blockman gang to help her get into even more trouble. Her parents saw that having her around, trying to hide her abilities and keep the cops from questioning them about oddly dressed men running through the front yard and playing with their daughter certainly wasn't going to work out for long. Fortunately, her father received an email and a hardcopy letter in the mail from the Hammel Institution. Getting Brilliance to the school was a win for her parents and a win from Hammel. Goodness gracious, her parents needed a much deserved rest and Hammel needed to get her to the school so that she could learn to control her powers. In terms of level of power and ability, Brilliance had a lot of untapped potential.
Her years at Hammel was a little bit shaky at best. She still got into trouble. She pulled pranks, get into more trouble and become a headache to the staff because she needed attention. Very quickly the Lego blockgirl became a pain and a little brat. Her parents did the best they could to provide their odd little girl with attention but both of them worked a lot so Brilliance would be home alone often. Therefore, she was used to being lonely and causing trouble to get attention to the point where she brought that same mentality to Hammel.
Brilliance's ability to control her power didn't come over night. Her angry blockman caused untold property damage which wasn't Brilliance's fault. It was just a step for her to control that power. Also, she needed to vent her anger of not fitting in outside of this school, get all that sadness out and finally get over the things bothering her. It wasn't her controlling her power that was the key to her controlling said power. If Brilliance learned to control her emotions and not use them to cause mischief she'd actually be near perfect when it came to using her ability. However, her emotions needed work which was why counseling was given to her. This was one of the few times the school had to use emotional counseling to control something that could be turned on and off like a switch in one's head.
She graduated from Hammel to the relief of some staff members who thought of her as nothing more than a troublemaker. Brilliance was given a shot to go to Yale University. While she was a pain in the butt for a lot of people she was pretty smart. She went after a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. Even after getting the degree finding a job was hard after she left Hammel. She had no intentions of returning to the school to beg for a job because Brilliance believed that nobody wanted her back at the school. After all, as a teenager she was nothing more than an annoyance while she attended the school. She didn't believe anybody would forgive her and understand that she was just going through a lot at the times that she was causing the trouble that she caused.
Brilliance would get letters from Hammel to inform her of a class reunion, alumni association letters and even a letter to return back to the school if she was in need of a job. How did they know she was out of work? Brilliance would go back to school before she returned to Hammel. She honestly believed she'd be hated if she came back. There was no lack of ambition in terms of getting a degree because she went to graduate school at the University of North Carolina for her master's degree in biochemistry. Still, she couldn't find a job. Therefore, Brilliance became a waitress just to support herself after graduate school. A person with a master's degree in a very difficult degree area in biochemistry resorted to serving food. It was humiliating.
When this woman reached the low point of having to create constructs in order to keep herself happy that was when she received a letter from the Hammel Institution for the third time. By now, Brilliance got sick of these people mailing her. Just how in the world did they keep getting her address anyways? After reading the contents of the letter it became clear that these people knew of her abilities outside of a laboratory as mentioned in said letter. She had been avoiding these people for so long and didn't clearly understand that they were only trying to get her to the school so she could be around others like herself. Her parents shouldn't have taken her out of the school. She shouldn't have went to Yale. She should have went to the Hammel Institution. And so, she set off to become an employee of the school and research.
Coming back on this property again was a little weird. Some of the same people Brilliance met before were still there. Not to mention the fact that before she left the school as a teenager she said she'd never come back. Well, that didn't turn out to be the truth. In fact, not only was she back, Brilliance returned as a researcher to try to understand powers that people like herself had.

Roleplay Example
"Seriously? No, seriously. You use these kinds of locks? Some people in this world are probably stupid enough to get ran over by a boat on fucking dry land," said a dark and cold sounding voice. What kind of a jerk breaks into an apartment while the owner is away traveling to a funeral for their mother? This person didn't seem to care about the black ribbon posted at the front door. Typically, it'd symbolize a death in the family. Instead of sending condolences this person used the renter vacation as an opportunity to steal things from the apartment. Some people in this world had no respect for others and even less respect for the dead. In fact, the ribbon was taken down and stomped on by the person that was invading this space. The front door lock was picked. Somebody didn't get the double dead bolts which was a mistake when assholes like this robber was around. The entry took minutes. That was entirely too easy. Whoever lived here had to be dumb. Who'd live in these parts without adequate locking mechanisms? It was mad. It's like the owner was inviting thieves in or something.
The nerve of this asshole. It was a man dressed in plain clothing or at least what he'd consider to be plain. It was a biker's pair of leather pants, a red biker's jacket, no shirt underneath, much like certain teachers at schools, and black, steel toed boots. He just flopped down on somebody else's couch and grabbed a remote control to turn on the television. Quickly, he started working the controls to order pornography on this person's television without even considering that whoever owned this place would have to pay for the bill. This guy just wanted a place to crash for the night. But why? There had to be other places that were even easier to break into. Oh, but no, someone had to be insulting and break into the apartment of one of the Brotherhood's operatives. Obviously, this wasn't just anyone. This was done intentionally to get the Brotherhood's attention. However, this person had better be packing some serious heat if they knew what they were in for. This apartment didn't belong to just anyone.
The rent belonged to Jester Reeves but Jester never lived here. That insane maniac brought this place for his boss; Cody Marsh. The man in question? One of her old friends; Argos. He was in the mood for a booty call so he came to her place and just broke in. He always figured Cody loved the bad boy style that he always implemented. It was no secret that the woman had a thing for men that police officers loved to hate. His boots were muddy and the mud from those boots were all over her nice leather couch after he propped his feet up to the side. "The fuck is she? That bitch better be here. I'll slap her ass the second I see her for being late," he said. Late? What the bloody hell was wrong with this guy? She didn't even say she was going to be here. She hadn't seen this asshole in almost two years and even when she did see him they only said about five or six words to one another. There was nothing between them yet this god forsaken jerk couldn't understand that. He was always an ass to her. It was a degree of assholeness that even Cody couldn't stand sometimes. Gosh, he even spit his gum out onto her carpet where it'd be hard for her or anyone to get it out.
