The Basics

Name: Alexandra Bora Choi
Nicknames: Alexa, ABC (her dad only)
Age: Sixteen
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Chemical/Nuclear Modification- Alexa's power, should she be infinitely more powerful than she is at the moment, would be known as 'alchemy' in ancient times. Her ability allows her to first identify the chemical composition of an object that she touches, and (technically) move and shift around the protons, neutrons, and electrons to chemically change the properties of the object in question. As long as Alexa knows what both the chemical in question and the target chemical are, she can (theoretically) change them at will in several seconds. After any modification that she can handle at her current level, she will fall asleep in about five seconds afterwards and would not be able to wake up for at least 30 minutes. If she pushed herself beyond her limit...
Unfortunately for her family and herself, actual 'alchemy' in the traditional sense is as possible for her as soaking up the waters of the Pacific Ocean with a paper towel. The concentration required for the nuclear modification follows the scaled model of "difficulty = molecular weight of the chemical^4 * mass of the object^2", meaning that the difficulty of nuclear modification increases exponentially as larger the atom is. When her power had just begun to surface (an extremely volatile period for her ability), she was unconscious for nearly 3 months after accidentally turning 1cm of solder wire (tin & lead) into silver and gold.
She has much easier time with Chemical modification (given that electron is 1836 times lighter than proton), though in her current state she can only manipulate objects equal or lesser in mass of an unopened soda can. In addition, she can only accelerate an already possible chemical reaction (rather than inventing new processes like she can with nuclear modification).
Because of the interference from the complex waves of bioelectricity, Alexa cannot manipulate something that is alive at the moment. In addition, because it would be quite impossible for her to "touch" gaseous substance long enough to change it, her power is not practical for use on gases. She can, however, 'time' her reaction so that a particular modification would take place moments (3~5 seconds at her current power levels) after she breaks off physical contact. Finally, despite having the ability to insert and remove protons and neutrons, she cannot cause a nuclear fission (short of pushing a button that causes a meltdown at a nuclear power plant, that is).

The Details
Hair Color:Very dark brown (dyed, naturally black)
Eye Color:Dark brown
Any Piercings?"What?! Why?! It hurts! And they have clip-ons now, so why would anyone actually pierce something?!"
Any Tattoos?Too scared of the pain (that would be inflicted by her parents and older brothers if she ever got a tattoo)
Any Scars?None
General Appearance: Alexa and her face full of soft, round features and the not-very-intimidating slim figure standing at 5'4'' makes her look cutesy, rather than attractive as she would like. Her preference for simple shirts and jeans (courtesy of having grown up with two older brothers who really, really wanted a little brother) does not help with her wishes, and even when dressed up for a special occassion, her overall impression does not change. Her slightly messy short hair that only comes down to her neck probably doesn't help either.
She has a slight tan and a 'sandal tan line' that is almost obligatory of anyone who has lived in Arizona, and despite the climate of her new surroundings can sometimes be seen in them ("Old habits die hard!"). She has brought sneakers for colder weather, but prefers the freedom the sandals provide. For now, anyway.
Personality: Alexa has been raised like a precious little princess by her parents and raised like one of the guys by her two older brothers. As her parents were mostly busy with their work, Alexa grew up to be a very outgoing and outdoor person who can't handle inactivity or boredom. A type of person who would laugh at herself rather than brood and sulk after being made fun of, she is very lively and generally easygoing.
Of course, this also makes her very impatient and restless. Very rarely would she be willing to just laze around her room; there has got to be something she could do. And in such times, she can become irritable and short-tempered, and extremely annoying when she pesters people to do something fun.

Secret: Her father named her Alexandra Bora Choi because he is a huge Agatha Christie fan, and "The A.B.C. Murder" featuring a character with the initials ABC (Alexander Bonaparte Cust) was his favorite work of hers. After finding this out from her mother, Alexa gets really angry whenever her dad used the previously appreciated nickname, "ABC".

Any Other Important People:
History
Alexa was born to a father who had just became an associate professor of Chemistry at a local university, a mother whose novel had become a mild success, and two brothers who have been anxiously waiting for their youngest brother and instead got a sister. While the unplanned third child had put some strain on the family's financial health at first, her parents had devoted themselves to their respective work to provide for the three siblings while letting Kevin and Nathan help out with raising Alexa. Kevin and Nathan, very disappointed that they didn't get a younger brother, tried their best to make Alexa suitable replacement by making her watch sports matches whenever possible.
Consequently, Alexa grew up as just one of the boys in the Choi family despite her mother's late (far too late) interventions. While she wasn't particularly spectacular at any of the sports that she tried as a child, she had made up for her lack of natural talent with her seemingly never-ending enthusiasm. She has also gotten in trouble several times for pestering her busy mother (who always had a too near of a deadline) to play when her brothers were off doing something else without her. Her father's influence could not be ignored either, however. A scientist's household true and true, the Choi family was quite exposed to the father's work and interests. Alexa was no different, picking up things here and there that would later help her with her science classes.
Unfortunately, raising an extra kid that hadn't been planned for began to take a toll. Her mother was especially stressed, who have been having trouble getting published after her initial success right before Alexa's birth. The usually cheerful atmosphere of the Choi household slowly became heavier, and even Alexa could tell that something was wrong. After accidentally learning that their family was having financial problems, Alexa herself became troubled and began to obsess over it all the time.
This worry was filling her head when she grabbed a coil of solder wire for her brother, who had been working on a class project. Without warning, she immediately collapsed and could not regain her consciousness for three months. While Alexa was still in the hospital, her father had discovered something very strange; the coil of solder that Alexa dropped just as she became unconscious had an unusually shiny parts at the end. It was a weird twist of gold and silver, and just as her father suspected what Alexa could do, so did the Institute as Alexa's bloodwork went through the system.
Faced with possibly losing their daughter to the government forever, Alexa's parents and brothers chose to send her to the Institute instead. After a brief physical therapy, Alexa left for her new school... and her new life.
Roleplay Example
"Stay here. Do not follow." The two security guards tasked with Nicole's safety immediately stopped, knowing full well the ill-tempered yet cold lawyer habitually fired her auxiliary staff for the tiniest infractions. "I will be back in two hours, so get a suitable transportation ready by then. I'll either have to go back to the office or to my father's house." The guards, miraculously having lasted for a whole week without losing their jobs, didn't respond; they already knew she wasn't going to wait around for their answers.
The door creaked as Nicole pushed it, and it somehow grated her nerve. The recent strings of development had made her job, legal and illegal, much more stressful. She could practically hear the storm brewing as so many different factions of bitter enemies, pathetic ingrates who do not deserve to be her father's children, and the mortals.
"Ha."
Nicole let out a laugh, savoring the word 'mortal' in her head. She was one now, and she had even gotten used to referring to herself as 'Nicole'. It was the only rational thing to do, preventing any confusions by utilizing two different names for herself. Her mortality, and that of her father, was a cruel, brutal reality that needed to be acknowledged, examined, and dealt with. Avoiding it wasn't going to cut it.
As Nicole stepped into Mount Olympus, she immediately frowned. 'Of all the places that the business at hand could be discussed, he chose this place?' She disliked the way her job forced her to visit places like these. Being a legal representative and an advisor for the family meant meeting many of the self-important immortal pests whose only wisdom was choosing to stay loyal to her father. Slightly cringing at the unsuitable music permeating throughout the place, Nicole looked around for her business appointment. 'Of course he is late. What else would I expect from a common lowlife?'
The headache was getting worse, and she needed a drink. Nicole approached the bartender and waved a hand, at which point a glass of wine was instantly poured for her. Sighing deeply, she took a sip and mindlessly looked to her left. A tall, thin man was shamelessly flirting with some girl, which irritated Nicole for some reason. The irritation, however, was quickly swept away by astonishment as the flirting man turned around and showed his face.
"Prometheus." It was a quiet statement of mixed, conflicting emotions. Nicole- no, Athena's memory began to search back. The molding of the mankind, the knowledge, Pandora... her father's wrath... and the consequent punishment. It was the first time she had argued with her father, and with the strongest intensity bested only by the times she argued for the Achaeans and Odysseus. 'He does not deserve such punishment,' she argued, and for the first time in her life her father had ignored her advice. She remembered feeling like a criminal who got away at the expenses of her accomplice. The last she had heard about Prometheus was that Hercules had freed him. Here he was now, in one of the innermost layers of her father's organization.
Her father hadn't told her anything about Prometheus joining his rank.
The last anyone heard from him was the brutal punishment her father had dealt on him.
Nicole continued to stare at him with a strange mixture of accusatory glare, guilt, and sympathy. Already her mind was considering the possible courses of action available. Intimidate him so that he won't even think about revenge? Entice him with favors and benefits so that he'll lose his willpower? Quickly and quietly eliminate him just to be safe? Prometheus was an incredibly intelligent fellow. Nicole would have to be very careful and very elaborate in dealing with him, whatever that may entail.
