Alexis waited at the water fountain that sat in the middle of the mall, using the outer wall of it as a bench. She had finally given in to Braxton and his endless barrage of text messages. The guy had been after her ever since she’d met him back at that bar. She tried to explain to him time and time again that they simply did not play for the same team, but no he wouldn’t hear of it. It wasn’t that she had anything against him, she really didn’t, she just wanted to keep him from getting the wrong idea. Lexi adjusted her breast cancer bracelet which had ‘I love boobies!’ on it in bold print. She knew that it probably wouldn’t prove anything to Braxton but hey, she was about to take any hints she could put down to show to him that she liked girls and just girls.
She leant back on her palms, stretching out her back slightly. From what she could remember of Braxton was that he was a very funny guy, a total charmer and player. The way he tried to pick up Alexis and her friend that night was hilarious, but when he asked for her number she saw no harm in giving it to him. At the time she figured she could make a new friend out of it. She actually found his persistence kind of humorous. He never gave up and she decided that she had let it run on long enough. Today she was giving him a shot.
So here she was. Waiting in the mall at the spot they agreed to meet up. She wasn’t so sure of how this was going to go, or what she was in store for her. She let her head drop back, looking at the skylight just above. It was a cloudy day the best weather to spend indoors at the mall. Judging by the dark grey colour of the sky rain was going to start falling any minute. Good thing she wasn’t outside.
Alexis brought her head back up and started to look around. The mall was busier than usual, bustling with teens and a few adults. Once you grew up you realized the mall wasn’t all that magical. It became strictly business, but that didn’t stop the younger generations from hanging around like they owned the place. People came and went but still no Braxton. Lexi went back to watching the clouds. She got so used to all of the mall goers walking past her that she didn't notice the person walking up to her.
