Even without Dom’s pull, Romeo would still have fallen down the other side of the wall with a thud. He still would’ve yelped quite a bit as he slipped, curled into a ball to prevent his head from being hurt and freeze for a second to get the shock and pain out of his system. But other than ensuring that such things would happen (left to his own devices, there still is a small possibility of a graceful landing despite the alcohol in his blood currently), Dom’s intervention only gave Romeo more reason to pick and tease the boy throughout the night. (He’s too young to be a threat anyway. Annoying yes, but actual competition to the deaf blonde, fat chance. Or so he thinks).

“Ha. She knows you’re too frail to do that.” He gave Dom a wink as he gave the boy’s arms a not-so-light pinch. “Eat a bit more and start hitting the gym. Girls love guns like these.” Cue in bicep flexing. The Irish boy’s narcissistic as hell; heaven knows he’d be making sure his body’s in tiptop shape. “Come on you little brat, Tinkerbell’s leaving us,” he chuckled as he gave the boy a slight shove and ran beside the blonde, casually putting his arms over her shoulders. “So, whatcha think about ditching the annoying fucker over there and getting some alone time for ourselves?”

Dominic really wanted nothing more then to bury this freak six feet under right now, he was just as bad as meta's that messed with people's minds. He was just so damned obnoxious and rude, and his petty attempts to infuriate were working, and Dominic hated that Meta's had this kind of power against the general populace.

He continued to demean Dominic in front of Damia in a way of trying to woo the poor girl, Dom just hoped she wasn't as foolish to fall for his tricks. If she did he would lose what respect he had for the woman, and pity her. Leaving the comforts of the dormitory to be harassed by the walking tin man, what fresh hell is that.

He felt a pinch on his arm, and fought every urge to kick the boy in the testicles knowing it could possibly turn into a brawl at the doorsteps of the institute. So he decided to just keep quiet as they walked along the road, listening to Romeo's attempts to pick up Damia. Fucking Meta

The last thing Damia had expected was to feel Hotstuff’s arm wrap around her shoulder. ”What?” She glanced his way and was surprised at how close he seemed now. Damia took a slow breath and tried to force herself to relax. It was okay so long as she didn’t give away her discomfort.

Everything else had been fine. She could accept their politeness and ignore whatever bickering or verbal flirting she cared to, but this was something else. Suddenly her response actually mattered. Damia didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to offend him by pushing him away. After a moment she realized that what she needed was a way to get him to give up on his own.

Damia looked over her should at Dom. Could he be the solution? No. That would just lead to more bickering. Besides, he looked uninterested in jumping in. Turning back to Romeo Damia forced herself to smile faintly as she tried to gage what she could say to him, but it was like trying to read a foreign language. How did normal girls do this anyways?

The younger boy’s silence was music to Romeo’s ears, at least to an extent. The Irish boy would’ve preferred if he voiced his irritation out – because it not only is an explicit acknowledgement that he’s managed to get into the boy’s nerves but it would also provide Romeo with more openings to attack the boy, sort of – but then he saw how the boy’s face scrunched up even under the dim light, and was enough. For now.

When Damia asked what, he simply turned to her lazily and gave her probably one of the sleaziest grins she’d ever see in her lifetime. (Romeo insists he’s drunk. I say yeah, let’s just go with that). “I asked if you want to ditch Little Miss Sunshine over there. I promise I’ll take care of you.” He promptly looked over his shoulder and gave Dom a ‘suck on this’ wink, as if rubbing the fact that he’s making progress with Tinkerbell and the younger boy isn’t. If you can call this progress anyway. “No? Oh not yet. Sure.”

“Hey Twerp, walk faster. We’re heading to the lake.” He leaned in close to Damia and then whispered (though considering how inebriated he is at the moment, it might not been as soft as a whisper should be). “We’ll ditch him once we get there, don’t worry.”

Dominic walked behind the two, making a mental note of what was going on. He could read Damia's discomfort the moment Romeo wrapped his arm around her shoulders, not only that he won't stop hitting on her, egging her on to go out alone with him. So he picked up his pace as they walked down the road and made his way to Damia's other side, she looked like she could use some saving right now. "My name is Dominic, not twerp, not anything like that" He really just wanted to go off on him, just call him on all his flaws. However there is one rule he knows, don't start a fight with a drunk. Let alone a drunken Irish version of Colossus.

This didn't mean he was going to stay quiet though, he had to say something to try and help out Damia. "Why don't you let go of the girl so she doesn't pass out from the sleaze oozing off you" She didn't seem to want to try and defend herself against him, it was either that or she didn't know how to react in these types of situations. Some one had to try and help her with that, that was if she was going to survive in the world.

Even Damia couldn’t help but find herself disgusted by the sleaze that oozed from Romeo’s grin. She automatically smiled back, but no amount of effort could have hidden her lack of enthusiasm. Hopefully he was too drunk to notice.

When Romeo promised to “take care of her”, Damia concluded that she should say something. She opened her mouth…. and he turned away. She sighed inwardly. Luckily, he seemed willing to postpone the subject to later.

Damia held her breath as he attempted to whisper in her ear. When they got to the lake? That wasn’t exactly… as much later as she’d hoped. She would have preferred later in the sense that he would just forget about it. However, since Damia had lost her first opportunity to say something she couldn’t find the nerve again.

Then Dom came to her rescue. Hoping he’d be too distracted to notice, Damia shrugged off Romeo’s arm and took a couple of small steps away. The situation wasn’t exactly resolved but she did feel better with some space of her own.

”It’s okay,” she tried to reassure them and keep things from escalating. ”I just-“ Damia cut herself off. Better to keep this a group thing. ”We’re almost to the lake anyways.” Then she gave the guys a reassuring smile, letting her gaze linger on Dom in the hopes he’d see the ‘thank you’ in her eyes - and that Hotstuff wouldn't take offense.

There’s really no point in saying that Romeo didn’t notice, much less care, about the sleaze he’s supposedly oozing. Even if he was sober, he wouldn’t really stop; he pretty much believed that he’s among the most sought after beings in the whole wide universe and anything he might ‘ooze’ actually brings pleasure and satisfaction to anyone and everyone.

In any case, Damia’s polite smile did nothing but affirm in the Irish boy’s head that the blonde totally wanted him. If it wasn’t for Dom’s timely interruption, Romeo might’ve already had his way with Damia. (Consent? What’s that?). He was already poised to carry her off so they could get away some time away from the young boy. (With his silver plates he’s pretty sure carrying her off wouldn’t be a problem; and with the training he’s been having lately, he can easily run at his top speed without even feeling the weight of his ‘armour’).

But as much as his hormones were telling him that he needs release and he needs it now, his pride just couldn’t let the boy talk him down like that. “Until your balls drop down to where it should be, I’ll call you with whatever name I’d want to, turd,” he sneered. In his drunken state he couldn’t really multitask as much, and thus when his mind focused on thinking of things to make Dom feel even more miserable than he supposedly was, he barely noticed Damia slipping away from his arms. “Stop being a jealous prick. I mean, she’s way out of your league dimwit.”

He could’ve said more, but then Romeo noticed that they’re already in the lake by then. Already his drunken mind shifted from Damia to Dom to swimming in the lake. “Finally!” the boy yelled as he stripped down to nothing, doing what he thinks is an artistic pose for a second or two before running to the cold lake water.

Even in the dark Dominic was still capable of reading the appreciation in Damia's eyes as he stood up against Romeo for her, and gave her a little brother grin before nudging her arm with his selbow. However his smile soon dropped when Romeo decided to open his mouth again to spew more babble trying to infuriate, which was working, but he would not reply to him. That would just get the two bickering again, and he really didn't want to do that. All he really wanted was to get out of the institute and do some painting somewhere quiet, but he guessed that really wasn't going to happen tonight.

It seemed that they were already arriving at the lake, and by Romeo's enthusiastic response it was time for some fun. So when he went running towards the water Dominic couldn't help but grin and look at Damia. "Is it wrong of me to wish he would drown in that lake?" He half joked with his grin before setting his bag down on the ground and started to pull out his oil paints and a few small canvas's. He was all ready to do what he wanted, but there was one thing wrong, it was still a little too dark for him to get a good sight to paint. Luckily enough there were a few pieces of dry wood around the beach, so he gathered them up and put them in a pile.

"Your more then welcome to stick around with me if you want to. I'll be starting a fire soon to get some light around here. However if you want you can go ahead and join the tin man splashing around, though I'd be kind of disappointed if you did" Dom said as he pulled out some paper, and his lighter. Lighting the paper as kindling he placed it under the wood and watched as it slowly started to build the fire to a respectable level, but still not exactly bright enough.

Damia had no idea how lucky she was that Dom had stepped in. She may not have been entirely oblivious but she certainly had no clue as to the extent Romeo’s vanity and hormones were influencing him. Had he actually tried to force himself on her their little ‘get-away’ would have certainly taken a very dark turn. The only question was how traumatized she would have been.

As it was, Romeo’s reaction to suddenly realizing that they had arrived came as a quite the shocker.

Damia’s eyes went wide. All she could think was ’oh my god… not happening…’ but it was and, try as she might, Damia couldn’t look away. Not even as he posed for them. 100% exposed. Her face was burning red by the time he hit the water. Yes, it was a safe bet that she had never been face to face with a nude man before - a fact that she had absolutely no hope of denying.

There was a good chance that she would have simply walked away right then and there if Dom hadn’t said something. Raising an eyebrow, Damia couldn’t quite tell if he was joking or not. Surely he didn’t actually want Romeo to drown, right? The grin seemed to be a decent indicator that it was a joke, so she went with that and offered a small shake of her head.

“Sure.” Of course Damia would stick with Dom if he was going to start a fire! As it was, there wasn’t really much light out here. While he started the fire, she helped gather some more small branches and twigs. Damia added those to the small fire he had going and then looked over his supplies. Paint? The fire probably helped but was it bright enough to paint by? Well, it must be if he was going to paint. Damia could have asked about that but she actually had a different question on her mind.

”Do you already know Romeo. Is that why you called him Tin Man?” Damia wasn’t certain but last she checked the nickname she had heard for him was Hotstuff.

Unfortunately for Dom (and to an extent, Damia), Romeo grew up in the woods, so swimming – or rather, floating – was more or less second nature to him (along with hiking, trekking, tracking and hunting). There’s a pretty small chance that the boy would drown despite his inebriated state. His speed in the water, however, diminished a whole lot, to the point that he almost seemed stationary for a good minute or two. He’s also less aware of the obstacles around him, which explained the pained yelp that escaped the teen when he got out of the lake after a few minutes.

“What the fuck? Who put a bloody stone in my path?” he growled, hopping on one foot as he gently massaged the other. He quickly skipped to the fire the two had made when he saw it, as the night breeze were beginning to blow and by gods was it cold. “Woah, the twerp’s a painter I see,” said Romeo, pointing at the canvas with a finger and making weird shapes with it. Then an idea hit him. “Well then twerp,” he added, chuckling slightly as he nestled in the sand, “Paint me like one of your French girls.”

Yup. He just said that. Complete with the pose and a suggestive wink and all.
