I'm Siiiinging in the Rain~! (Kiara)

Dancing in the rain had always been a goal on the blonde’s bucket list, but it had never tempted her to do so at school where follow students could witness such crazy behavior. Here, however, it did not bother her at all. Aiden didn’t judge her for silly decisions; instead he often found himself participating thanks to the applied puppy dog eyes and pout. Today had been no different. He was correct to assume that cover would be appropriate at this moment though. As Aiden moved to sit up straight, Ki felt coldness rush over and arms went to embrace herself after he had tugged her onto both feet again. The proximity of his body had helped her preserve some warmth, as well as the physiological process that got caused by the sudden change in mood. When the young man spoke, she managed to collect all their belongings and then found herself being guided towards the rather cozy looking shack, despite its real purpose.

Once inside, the more pleasant temperature didn’t immediately gain any effect. Ki was shivering a tad bit, making sure to keep her teeth at a decent distance from one another because a clacking noise threatened to be made. This did not stop her from placing a hand into her best friend’s though. Her other arm snaked underneath his armpit, hooking it in such way to rest her hand upon his bare shoulder, resting her chin on top as well. This also provided them to be close, but that’s what the blonde could use at this point, so she was convinced no protest would follow. Exhaling a soft sigh, eyelids gave in to gravity as feet allowed her to sway to the music. Almost absentmindedly, a soft voice broke free as she ever so quietly sang along with the lyrics. It might have only lasted a second or five, but even than it was rare. She had never before done so around Aiden either, despite their close friendship, because she had convinced herself that he would not give her his honest opinion. That he would tell her he loved it, even though he didn’t.

”Do… you think we can shove our beds together tonight? Or that we’ll fit in one bed? I’m positive I’ll be cold the rest of the night.” Hesitating for a small second, Kiara added, in a whisper, ”You could keep me warm”. Of course they had already done that before, but no longer than an hour or so. Ki might have dozed off in his arms, yet this was while cuddling. Not while actually going to bed. Hearing the song come to an end, the blonde’s voice filled the shack once more. ”Maybe we should head back. I’m really cold.” She gave a weak chuckle. Kiara knew Aiden might have offered his shirt had it not been soaked, but all that would really help right now were some covers and her puzzling herself into his side. ”I promise I won’t snore or steal your covers.”

Pulling back enough to glance at him, the young woman offered her sweetest smile. ”Please? You can choose which side you sleep on.” A little bit of compensation, right? It was only fair. Then she let go of him and switched off the stereo, gathered their belongings again and let him teleport them back to the parking lot. She made sure to help him in the vehicle before getting in as well, knowing it might have taken some energy. ”Oh, and shotgun on the bathroom!”

Aiden could see Ki's teeth chattering, and so when he pulled her close and she wrapped her arms around him, he attempted to warm her up at least a little by running his hand up and down her back, trying to get the circulation going.... Or something. It seemed like the right thing to do, at least. He desperately hoped she hadn't gotten too chilled; it had been fun dancing in the rain, but it wasn't worth getting her sick over. Ever since they had ended up tangled on the sand, he had felt a pleasant warmth throughout his body, and so he felt fine, even if he hadn't put his shirt on yet (not that it would have done him much good, it being soaked and all).

He closed his eyes as well, letting the music guide his feet across the dry wooden floor. After a few moments another voice joined into the song, and he smiled. Kiara never sang in front of anyone. "You should sing more often," he murmured. "It's soothing." It didn't last long, though, and he felt a little emptier when she stopped.

They danced until the song was over, and then they pulled away. Aiden still felt warm, even while Ki still felt cold to the touch. "Of course we can," he murmured in response, brushing back a wet strand of hair from her face. "I don't want you to catch a cold because we were idiots and danced in the rain." He grinned at her, then reached down and grabbed his belongings. "Yeah, let's get going. I'm afraid this storm is only going to get worse." It was actually a bit frightening, teleporting in a storm, but he knew he had to get them back before Kiara started shivering too badly.

They teleported back to the car and were soon back to their hotel room, where Aiden offered Kiara all the blankets he could find while he pushed the two beds together. It wasn't perfect, but it would work. He switched into a clean pair of sweatpants while Kiara used the bathroom, until they were all nice and comfy snuggling in the bed. Aiden refused to think of it any other way than two good friends keeping each other warm. The storm continued, so Aiden closed the blinds and wrapped his arms around his best friend. "Goodnight, Ki," he murmured, already half-asleep. "Sweet dreams."
