Hey, it didn't have to be just coffee! It could be more, but Mia had made herself clear. She wanted Cam only as a friend and Cam was trying really hard to play by the rules laid out. "How do you know it's not fun? You could just go along with everything I say," he shrugged, "you can't rule it out until you've tried it." Come on, give him a shot! He watched her with amusement. "Uh-huh, right." He said. She was blushing too. "Working together would be awesome!" He agreed. "Maybe some of my awesomeness will rub off on you."
"Thanks," he said, closing his hand around the light as it faded away. "I wouldn't trade it for anything else," he said. "But anyways, that's why you have me for a friend. I can brighten anyone's day." Yes, he was quite confident in himself.
"I think you need to stop worrying about that, and have some fun with me." He offered her his most enticing smile and prayed it would do the trick.
Cameron was watching Spike with awe. "Get used? I doubt I'd get used to how cool he is," he smirked at her, "and so well behaved. I would've named him Mr. Corn though." Spike crawled his way back to Mia, Cameron enjoying how close he got to be to the girl. "So you're telling me you could've been sneaking around with Spike this whole time? How sneaky," he said, commending her. Cameron would have to keep a closer eyes on her hands.
"Come on, I wasn't gonna say anything about Dunkin's! You've heard of them but not McDonald's?" He asked, shaking his head. "What a backwards world you've lived in." He laughed a bit. "I'll be sweeter once we get those doughnuts. My treat, seriously, don't worry about it." He'd get a job soon enough. Then they could go out all the time!
"You like me," he said with a triumphant smile. Good, he wanted to be liked. Thankfully, the mall wasn't too far from the school, and he was happy to note that he had plenty of change. Enough even to tip their server.
Sauntering through the doorway of the shop, Cam waited for Mia, latching an arm through hers. "Anything you want is yours," he said, his eyes on the menu hanging behind the bar. His eyes landed on the shop keep, sending her a wink. Today was going to be great. He'd already decided.
