That's Just How We Are (Cam/Noam)

Calliope was in her room with the door closed. She was circling through the clothes in her room but she couldn't find something she was looking for... At the same time, she was singing along and of course dancing to the music that was playing loudly. It was probably hard to ignore. After rifling through the clothes in her room, she turned the music down and opened the door, skipping quickly into the bathroom. There on the floor she found a shirt and threw it on, which was too big for her so she tied it up at the corner.

Was it Josh's? Cam's? Noam's? It sure smelled like guy's cologne. Yeah, it must have belonged to one of those guys. At any rate, she went on her way back to her room.

It seemed that she'd finally noticed the presence of someone else; ahh, it was only Cam. Had he been in the common area the whole time? She stopped on her way back to her room and turned to look at him. "It's orange." She said, pointing to her hip to draw his eyes to the lace underwear she wore, "You hate orange."

Callie was singing loudly. Again. It wasn't anything Cam wasn't used to, and he didn't mind that much. And when he did, he just put on his headphones and did his own version of rocking out. He had been doing just that in the common living area, trying to read his textbook, but to no avail. Today wasn't a day to do homework, the fates had decided. And his brain capacity just didn't want to. He didn't want to.

It wasn't the singing that caught his attention, but rather, Callie bolting into the bathroom. Cameron got up and went to the mini fridge for a snack. There was rootbeer in here somewhere. Sugar would definitely help him concentrate. Grabbing a can out of the box, he stood up and took a sip. Oh he noticed the underwear alright, they were florescent and ugly, but they were underwear none the less. On Callie. "I dunno," he said, tilting his head to the side, "you sort of make them look good."

He opened up the rootbeer and approached her, giving her a little spin and checking her out. "Oh yeah, you look good, but no, not orange." He sighed, and shook his head in disappointment, taking another sip out of his can. "You want one?" He asked, and then went to the very next subject in mind. "We need to make a video today, I haven't in so long." Yes, something new had to go up on his YouTube channel, stat.

Noam, of course, was procrastinating, like always. There wasn't a time where he ever wanted to do homework, but it really did have to be done. He always said in his defense that he worked best under pressure, which was partly true. Right now, he was sprawled out on his bed, staring at the ceiling, completely and utterly bored. What better way was there to escape boredom than go bother roommates? He thought he'd heard some sort of song- which he'd been okay with, but he'd prefer some sort of song from a musical.

So, Noam picked himself off of his bed, and walked out of the room, noticing two of his roommates talking. And Callie was wearing his shirt. Which did sort of unnerve him, but Noam could deal. After all, it was just one shirt, and he'd be able to get it back somehow. He was about to fly at them, just for the sake of it, but realized that it really wouldn't be a good idea... which was actually a first for Noam. Well, maybe not a first, but it was definitely a rare moment.

He walked over to the living area, smirking slightly. It'd be fun to fool them into thinking that he was up to something...

Calliope complied to the spin, stopping and shrugging with her hands. Cue a frown when he said no to the orange. "I'll make you love the colour one day." Callie replied. Personally, her favourite colour was yellow. Anyone setting foot in her room would figure that out pretty quickly. But orange was bright too, and even if it took another three years and more subtle flashing, she'd find a way to make him appreciate.

"Not one of my own." She reached over with her best effort and tried to take the can from him. Just for a liiiittle taste. "Video? What are you thinking of doing this time? Oh, is this shirt yours? It doesn't smell like you or Josh..." Of course she was aware of his growing youtube channel, but first she kind of wanted to know who left their clothes on the floor of the bathroom.

She turned on a heel when she heard footsteps behind her. It was Noam! "Noammie," Callie called, smiling. Him and his gorgeously curly hair; she loved that. But every time she asked if she could touch it he refused. "You wanna drink or something?" She asked, looking at his Cheshire grin with a little confusion. "Ohh, was it the music again?" She knew that he was a musical theatre kinda boy, which was a bit of a contrast to the harsh beats of the music she danced to.

"Aw don't give me that look baby face," he said, smirking as she look so disappointed. "Try black next time, red's good too." Cam relented the can to her. "I'm not really sure, whatever comes to mind..." He leaned over her and smelled it a bit. "Nah, that ain't mine." Then he gave her shoulder a little nudge. "Come on, you don't know what I smell like yet?" He asked, giving her a wink and then laughing at himself. Sometimes he had too much fun. "Doesn't smell like Josh's either, must be Noam the gnome's." Hey that was a good nickname considering he just made it up on the spot.

Speaking of... "Hey, you're gonna be in my video right?" He asked his other roommate, brow raised. "What're you doing sneaking around Gnomey?" Cameron asked. Leave it to him and Callie to badger the brunet. Oh well, Noam should've been used to it by now. "You can have a rootbeer if you want, nice of Callie to offer them to you." He gave her a little shove in an attempt to get her back into her room and went into his.

"I need video ideas!" He yelled, waiting for some feedback as he searched for his video camera and tripod.

"I'm no gnome," protested Noam. "Sure, my name can sound like Gnome, but that's if you mispronounce it. It's noh-um, not gnome!" He chuckled. He should've known- Cam and Callie were just trying to ruffle his feathers, weren't they? Their dorm certainly was interesting, the four of them who lived in there were quite the odd group. Except, Noam would like to say that he isn't odd.

"Yeah, it was," he told Callie. "Though, I prefer musicals or old rock. Dude-" He called everyone 'dude' -"you should listen to some musicals. They're frigging epic. With your singing and dancing, you'd be a natural," he promised her. "Though, I'm not so sure about Cammy…" there was a mischievous look in his eyes. "I'm so in for a drink right now. Root beer is the best."

"Sure, I'll be in your video," he agreed. "What do you vant me to do?" He took on a Russian accent for the last bit. "I ken do vatever you needs me to do. Ideas, hmm?" The accent faded at the last bit. "Well… we could do a skit of some sort?"

"Black's not on the colour chart." Calliope fussed a little about it. He was so weird when it came to orange. The food, the colour, and really anything associated with it he didn't like. "Red's a step in the right direction though. I'll see what I have, but I really thought that me in orange would start to persuade you." Oh well, next time!

"I know what you both smell like. It goes Josh. Then you." She stated her obvious pecking order; and anyone else would have figured she was swooning over the thought of Josh.

When he called Noam by a new nickname, Callie allowed him to defend himself before she waved a hand at the whole thing. Plus she was drinking, so if it weren't for the rootbeer she would have weighed in sooner. "He's not a gnome. He's more of a... Tadpole. Pollywog, even."

Then it came to Noam's smackdown judgement of her music, as encouraging as it might have been. "But girls do run the world, dude." Callie said with a shrug. Her music was awesome. Beyonce was awesome. "But I bet I'd make a pretty useful Mimi from Rent. Minus the drugs, and stuff."

Callie fell into Cam's nudge and it caused her to move a few steps towards her room. She was confused as to why, and then she looked down. "Right. Pants! Sorry..." Callie smiled apologetically at Noam before ducking away to find a pair of light grey sweat pants. She listened in as Noam threw on an accent, and she laughed to herself when she thought of Ravyn's reaction to hearing such a thing.

"Why don't you sing one of your new songs, Camomile? I accidentally heard you practicing last night." Yeah, she accidentally had her ear pressed to the door last night when she heard him practicing.

Cameron laughed. “Orange is also close to skin color,” he suggested with equally suggestive eyebrows. “Stick to that and then we’ll talk.” Oh yes, she was the one missing out.

“Noam, Gnome, Polly, it’s all the same to me,” Cam said flippantly with a wave of his hand. Honestly, if Gnomey couldn’t lighten up, then they were going to have a very long school year. “Besides, you get to call me Cammy. We can call you Polly. Fair trade.” And if Noam disagreed, he’d be promptly tackled to the ground.

Cam snapped his fingers towards Noam. “Old rock, yes, I can play guitar or something. You two can dance.” Not that he was a bad dancer, he just didn’t want that kind of spotlight. You know, the one where he ended up flailing all over the place like a miserable dope. “Get me on some drugs and you might have a deal,” he said with a devilish smirk.

“Skit is good,” Cam agreed, turning his attention to Callie, before pulling her into a noogie. “Seriously?! You are forbidden to listen to me!” He laughed, releasing her and draping an arm around her shoulders, camera and such under his other arm. “No, I won’t be serenading you today,” maybe another day, “I say we go with a skit.” Plus, he needed someone on his side. And he really didn’t want to sing.

Putting the camera in the middle of the common area, Cam pressed the recording button and focus on Noam. “Dance monkey!” He commanded, you know, as if his roomie would actually agree.

Noam rose a few inches off of the ground, just for fun. Flying around the living room was one of his favorite things to do while bored, and right now, Noam classified as bored. A bored Gnomey probably wasn't in the best interest of Cam and Callie, anyways, but that was what the video was for- hopefully. He landed gently onto the ground, knowing that if the camera caught him flying, the video couldn't be shown to anyone outside of Hammel. He enjoyed being a meta, but he knew the risks well enough to actually use the reasoning side of his brain. "Fair enough," Noam said with a shrug.

He floated a foot above the ground with a smooth takeoff, just for the fun of it. "Boys AND girls rule the world," he protested to Callie. "Why can't there be equality? Seriously," he shook his head, pretending to be upset. Sticking out his tongue to show that he was joking, he looked over to Cam. "Oi. Not a bad idea," Noam called over.

"Skit it is," agreed Noam. "IMPROV. WE SHOULD IMPROV IT!" Improv was the funnest for Noam- who had grown up improving with his theatre friends. He needed to Skype one of them soon... he made a mental note to do so. As the camera turned on, Noam returned to the ground.

When Cam pointed the camera at him, Noam obeyed and began to dance in a goofy manner.

"Cammy, Callie, Polly." Callie repeated, pointing along to them and nodding slightly. But then she shook her head and grit her teeth in an awkward smile, "It doesn't quite fit. We'll work on it though." One day they would find a fitting nickname that flowed along with the rest of them. He totally did look like a tadpole though, in a cute kind of way. She meant only the best with her nicknames.

She appeared in the room again, orange concealed and pants on. Cam caught her by surprise with his arm but all she did was laugh. "You can't really stop me, y'know." She replied, because really, how was he supposed to do that? Sound proof his room? Ha! "That's not fair. Noam thinks there should be equality, so you owe me a serenading." Callie said, poking him in the chest as she moved to sit on the couch in their common area.

"I thought you said you could dance?" Callie laughed as she watched Noam dance along; she couldn't really help it. She laughed at almost everything. She turned her head away to take another drink from the commandeered rootbeer can. What was with Callie and accidentally stealing things from people?

“No, what’s fair is if I serenade you both,” he poked his head around at Noam, “this can be arranged.” He watched her sit, and Noam began dancing like a moron in the background. Oh this was too rich.

Cameron laughed, mirth in his eyes as the other boy went along with his shenanigans, nodding his head a couple times, hand to his chin. “Improv it is my friend.” He announced, oh so very glad this would all be on tape from now on.

The blonde proceeded to go and sit on Callie’s lap. “Exhibit A of gender equality,” he said, now even more animated than usual. “Boys become useless animals, while girls rule the world. I’m good with that.” Cameron patted his own lap. “Oh Gnoooomeeeeeey, come joooiiiin uuusss!”

Noam stopped dancing like an idiot promptly after the laughing commenced. He did like the attention- though, looking like an idiot wasn't the funnest of things. Though, getting others to look like an idiot was also quite fun.... which, thinking about it, made him feel a little bit like Benjy. His brother was quite ambitious and sly- but Noam loved the kid nonetheless.

"Serenade! Serenade!" Noam chanted jokingly. He didn't really expect a serenade from Cam, or expect him to give one to Callie. Oh well- it would be quite fun to try. And if he actually got a serenade, that would be something to cherish and tease Cam about... because why not?

Noam flopped down into Cam's lap, mainly for the amusement of Callie and Cam. He frowned at the bit about boys being useless animals, but was back to grinning as he sat in Cam's lap. "This is nothing," he informed them. "I swear, this means nothing." He hadn't told either of his roommates about his...sexuality. Nor did he plan to anytime soon.

Wait, was the camera turned on them now? Callie shrugged at the thought; she really didn't care either way. Cam was suddenly more animated than usual, if that was even possible. He sat on her lap and she lounged out, draping her arm along the side as she still had the can in her hand. "It's not equality. It's role reversal." She joked.

If only Noam had mentioned something about his sexuality. Seriously, it would seem like it was planned that they'd thrown together a set of bi/pansexuals. Maybe Cam would get his threesome after all? Ha. If only they knew about it.

"I'm pretty sure girls run your life anyway," She said, reaching over and ruffling Cam's hair with her free hand, "I have the upper hand of actually being one. Soooo..."

Acting like an idiot in groups was the best way to be an idiot, though Cam didn’t mind making a fool of himself in any setting, so long as everyone was having fun.

If anyone would be teased over being serenaded, it’d be Noam.

Cameron laughed outright at Noam, wrapping his arms around the brunet’s waist and giving him a squeeze. “You saying it doesn’t mean anything means it means somethin’.” If anyone would be accepting, it’d be Callie and Cam, and then the latter would attempt to get into Noam’s pants.

“Good thing we’re not fat, eh Callie?” He said, looking down at her and giving her a wink. He sort of forgot they were on camera right now, you know, like people did this all the time. “Girls? Pfft, I run my own life thanks.”

Noam simply laughed as Cam gave his waist a squeeze. He knew he'd have to tell them at some point, but not while the camera was rolling. He knew he'd have to come out to them last year- he did feel slightly bad about hiding it from them. Soon enough, he promised himself- always the procrastinator. Whether it was important decisions or even homework, Noam always procrastinated, claiming he worked best under pressure.

"Hey, I'm the straight one!" he protested, grinning. Though, if he did mention something, he really wouldn't mind getting into Cam's pants. Really. Cam was quite attractive to the curly-haired teen.

"What are we even going to do? The camera is rolling, isn't it?" Noam questioned. "Improv time?"
