The boy didn't want to be troubled to day. He didn't want to be troubled any day. Life in Hammel was hard enough, knowing that he'd have to compete with others, not only just intelligence wise, but ability wise. People often made fun of him for "not having a power", but what he does have is a working brain. And a working brain is all he needed to get by. In his perspective all he did was go to a special school for special kids, but it was still school, no jokes aside. All academics were serious, even if he were taking classes with the older kids, but that was besides the point. He had enough knowledge to rule the nation, enough knowledge to not go to a school for the rest of his life.
Anyway, he loved going to the pond, just to relax and think. Even though thinking was something hard for him to do, because there would be so many things for him to think about, which were unnecessary. But the thought of thinking about unlimited things at one time was good for David. It was a fact that he was the smartest person in the world, unless there were anyone else with his power. But that was besides the point, he was working on a watch, that he could create out of garbage scraps, but he actually got the pieces and tools for this one.Scratch that working part out, he actually finished the watch on the way out of his dormitory.
Now it was a fact that he had nothing to do, so he sat down by a tree, and stared into the pond, thinking about various calculations that he's read from a college-level math book. He's noticed certain errors in the math problems that were stated down in the book, and he planned to call the school officials about that. The boy stopped looking into the pond for a few moments and withdrew a textbook from his backpack. The book was as thick at his arm, and when he started reading it, he was at the very end of it.
