Mondays were always a bit tiresome. After a nice Sunday relaxing on her day off, Charlie always grumbled at being thrown back into the work week. Yes, she loved her job, but sometimes she wished she could just sit at home all the time and just work on her novel; it was such slow going, having so little time to work on it. But still, making donuts was fun, and her new employee, Callie, was simply wonderful - they had a lot in common, including their love for dancing (even though Charlie easily admitted Callie was way better than her), and they spent a lot of their breaks turning the music up loud and shimmying around the break room.
Which, actually, was what they were doing now.
Charlie had sent the other guy working their on his lunch break, so they were currently the only two in The Holey Place. Charlie didn't really expect anyone to be coming in for a while - it was the slow period of the day - so she saw no point in hurrying up their break. Therefore, she was a bit surprised when the bell went off signaling that someone had stepped into the building. Hurriedly tying her hair back up and checking her make-up in a mirror, Charlie asked,"Callie, honey, would you mind getting that customer? I should probably go check the batch that's cooking right now." She trusted Callie completely - she was a great worker, and she knew the young woman would be fine on her own. Even though she had only been working for a week or two, she had shown promise from day one.
Charlie quickly darted from the break room towards where the donuts were frying, carefully pulling them out and placing them on trays. A fresh batch of Raspberry Romeo's, one of her absolute favorites. "Everything alright, Callie?" she called up, just in case she needed any assistance.
