[Elroy Townsend]

Elroy tapped away restlessly at his computer, trying to perfect the video that he had spent most of the past week filming. The video in question just happened to instructions on how to craft traditional Maori sculptures. In fact, that was all Elroy's Youtube channel was. He loved art and this was the best way he could think of to share it with the world.

Unfortunately, he wasn't having much luck with it. The audio kept messing up and leaving out critical parts whenever he tried to cut this one particular part near the end of the video. It was starting to get to him, mostly because everything else worked just fine, so he decided to take a break before he actually got frustrated.

Elroy swiveled around in his chair, giving him a full view of the messy and unorganized room that he currently occupied. He didn't really bother much with cleaning up or other things that could get in the way of his "work". Up on the walls were various posters of old monster movies that Elroy massively adored: the original Godzilla, the original King Kong, and of course, the Creature from the Black Lagoon. There were more, but Elroy valued those three the most because they were all original posters that came out around the time of each of the movie's original theatrical release. His folks back home in New Zealand had acquired them from someone somehow, which Elroy thought was simply amazing.

Speaking of New Zealand, Elroy also had some artifacts from his homeland on a shelf to his far left. It contained various objects and pieces of art that were important to Elroy in some fashion or another. He even had a jar of sand from a beach near Wellington, which deeply comforted Elroy. Anytime he felt homesick, he could just hold that jar of sand and know that he had a piece of home with him.

After a few more minutes, Elroy turned back to his computer screen, hoping that this time would be the last, and he could finally share this video with the world. Before he could even resume his key-tapping, a familiar reflection appeared on his computer monitor.

"Hey there, Chawers!"

"Uuugh," Tak groaned, flipping through her chemistry textbook for the hundredth time. "I don't want to do this anymore." She had been working on homework for about ten minutes, long enough to drive her absolutely mad. Chemistry could be interesting and all, but not when you were learning about atomic weight and mass and all that other boring stuff that she had no interest in.

She flopped onto her stomach on her bed and sighed into her sheets, wishing she had something better to do. That was when she got an idea. She had seen Elroy in class earlier in the day, but that didn't mean she couldn't go see him again. He always cheered her up. Snapping her book shut and shoving her papers aside, she stretched and stood, figuring she should probably throw something on for the trip down the hall. She slipped on some cotton shorts and a tanktop, ran her carved bone brush through the tangles in her hair, and rushed out the door.

The trip was short - he was only two doors down. Not bothering to knock, she slipped into the common area and towards his room, where she gently opened the door in order to avoid bothering him if he was working on something, which he almost always was. And she was right - he was sitting at his computer, working on who-knew-what. She immediately darted over to him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, nuzzling into his neck. "Hey Elly," she cooed. She rested her chin on his shoulder, still embracing him, and let her eyes wander over his computer screen. "What are you working on, hun?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just some more of those art tutorial videos that I'm always doing. You know me, Chawers. Elroy Rodolph Townsend, the greatest artist to ever live!"

Elroy chuckled at that. He had always wanted to be an artist. More specifically, he wanted to make a feature-length film. Something powerful, dramatic, something that everyone would always remember and treasure in their hearts.

Well, he could dream, couldn't he?

Elroy was actually glad Tak was here. She always took his mind off of anything that might be bothering him and he was sure he did the same for her. Tak had been his best friend since he had arrived at Hammel, a little over four years ago. Their relationship had reached a point where they could do virtually anything around each other without being embarassed.

Elroy had gotten out of the chair in order to give Tak a big hug, just because he felt like giving hugs at the moment.

"It's only been three hours and I was already beginning to miss you. So, what's up, Chawers?"

Tak smiled, planting a kiss on Elroy's cheek as she continued to look at his work. "That's so cool. You're so cool. You know that, right?" She never got tired of smothering him with compliments. "And yes, most definitely the greatest artist to ever live. I've been practicing, you know; my sculptures are starting to look a bit less like shapeless lumps and more like actual things."

He was kind and patient enough to try to teach her, even though she really had no skill for the stuff.

She gladly folded herself into the hug, squeezing him tightly before letting go and tugging on her hair as she tried to think of an interesting answer to his question. "Oh you know, just living it up, as usual." She paused, then added,"And by that, I mean slaving away at chem work." She rolled her eyes. "I thought maybe you would be more entertaining. So, entertain me?" She grinned innocently. She was up for anything, even if that included helping him on his project. She wasn't exactly an expert on video editing, but she had picked up some tips in the past several years from watching him work.

Elroy loved it when she complimented him like that. It made him feel accomplished, as if he really was as great as he made himself out be.

"That's wonderful! I'm glad you've been paying attention. It's good to know someone does!" He really was happy to know that she had actually been improving through practice.

Elroy considered her comment about him entertaining her. He wanted to finish editing on his video, but he also thought that he could definitely do better than that. Also, Tak probably knew less about video editing than him.

"Well beautiful, if you want, you could help me out with my video. Or we could do something much more entertaining, like, say...singing? Or dancing? Maybe both! Anything you want, Chawers!"

"You should start a club! Like, a sculpting club. Or film making. I'm sure there are other students interested in that stuff, and you'd be a great teacher." That might actually be a club she would be interested in joining. Other than swimming, she hadn't found anything else in the school's extracurricular activities that perked her interest, other than possibly the Environmental Awareness Club. It could be fun!

"I could totally help you out," she replied. "Not that I could do much other than nod and pick pretty music to play in the background." Tak grinned. "But you know I'm always up for singing. And dancing. Hey, remember that sexy hotel dance video I showed you? Of that super hot guy? We should totally reenact it. Or we could blast Gangnam Style really loud with the door open, and see who joins us." She was obsessed with that song right now, and she had mastered the dances that went along with it. Because, you know, it was such a difficult dance. Not. At least she made it look kinda attractive.

Elroy smiled and looked out the window as he thought about his options. He did want to finish the video, but it just didn't seem like something that he was going to finish today. Besides, Tak always took precedence over his videos. An amazing person like her didn't deserve to, no, would not be ignored.

Hmmm.... Gangnam Style or sexy hotel dancing? Well, he definitely liked Peej Liguori, but sexy hotel dancing seemed more like something that was better with a single person. Gangnam Style was a song you could really dance to, and with multiple people too! Also, it was one of the single best music videos that Elroy had seen in a while.

Elroy grinned, and then laughed as he said,"We should totally do Gangnam Style. That sounds like it would be lots of fun. Come on!"

He turned around to his computer and minimized his editing program. In a couple of clicks, he was on Youtube, and after a little bit of typing, he was on the video for Gangnam style. Without a second's hesitation, he set the volume to the highest it would go and turned on the stereo system he had plugged into the computer.

Tak shifted from one foot to the other as Elly thought about their choices. Really, nothing could be better than dancing like an idiot. And once he seemed to agree with her, she grinned. "Gangnam Style it is!" She hopped up and down a little as he went to get the video set up, pulling a hair tie from around her wrist to tie her hair back in a loose ponytail; she loved her hair, but having it all the way to her waist could be a pain sometimes.

Who cared about the neighbors? As the song started blasting, Tak clapped and spun, already getting into the beats. She had the lyrics memorized too, so as Psy began to sing, she sang along. "Najeneun ttasaroun inganjeogin yeoja," she had no idea what the words meant, but the rolled off her tongue smoothly. "Keopi hanjanui yeoyureul aneun pumgyeok inneun yeoja!" She continued to sing along as she pulled Elroy into her dance, grabbing his hands and bringing him close. Tak did another spin, before lifting her hands above her head and twerking her hips back and forth. God, this song was catchy.

As the song reached the chorus, she stepped back to give herself some room. Giving Elroy a wink, she waited while the song paused. And then... "Oppa Gangnam style!" Crossing her fists in front of her, she bent her legs like she was riding a horse and stepped right, left, right, right, bouncing her arms as she did so. It was probably the most ridiculous dance ever, but it was also probably the most fun. "Come on, El!" she laughed, sashaying back and forth and cooing,"Eeeeey, sexy Elly!" Who could resist?

Elroy was reallly getting into the song now. He knew that the rest of the people on this floor would probably chew him out for this, but he really didn't care. He was having fun with his best friend Tak, and that was all that mattered.

When Tak yelled out her "Oppa Gangnam Style", Elroy did the same before crossing his hands over each other and stomping his feet as if he were riding a horse. God, this was such a catchy beat. He had no idea what Psy was saying, but he'd be damned if he didn't enjoy dancing like a retard without a care in the world.

Elroy moved around the room as the video reached the point with the dance duel between Psy and the guy with the yellow jacket. El put his hands on his hips and moved his legs from side as he effectively galloped around the room. The grin on his face stretched so far that it threatened to tear Elroy's handsome face in two.

Really, who didn't like to do it Gangnam Style?
