Set September 16th!


The big 18. Finally an adult and finally old enough to do whatever she wanted. Senior year at Hammel and things were supposed to be going great. Of course they weren't going as well as she'd like, but that was just how her life seemed to be. The more she thought about how old she was getting, the more depressing it seemed to get. After this year she'd have to make a choice: go back to California to start college there, or stay in Vermont and attend the U of V. It wouldn't have been a difficult choice if nothing had changed for her. If she'd kept people at an arm's length her whole time at Hammel, she'd be going straight to California. But she hadn't. There were those few people that she let in and couldn't just leave behind.

Lani was one of them.

Despite how awkward things had been getting between them ever since that awful day, she still cared about him. But things were different. Adrianna had spent a lot of time thinking about her relationship and the more she thought about it the more she wondered if it could even be called a relationship anymore. Adri loved Lani, there was no doubt in her mind, but it wasn't the way she'd thought before. She loved Lani the way she had loved Craven, the way she loved her mother. He was part of her life, a permanent part (hopefully), but not the man she'd spend the rest of her life with. They'd drifted and she knew he felt it too. They still had yet to discuss this whole thing, but she wasn't going to do it at her party. If anything, she'd act just the way she always did.

This party was meant for her to let loose and have fun, be happy and forget about the bumps she'd had the past month or so. It was open to everyone, but she'd been hesitant in the idea of inviting everyone. The last party she'd had turned into a disaster and that was because she'd even let Zac in. What would happen if Rhett came? Surely that would cause some serious awkwardness, especially if Lani and Odion showed up as well. It was times like this that she wished Craven hadn't moved away. She no longer had any best friends at Hammel. With Robbie off to college and Craven off with Gia, all she had was her boyfriend that very well might not be her boyfriend for much longer.

As she went around placing decorations, she tried to push back all of the problems. Today was her birthday and she couldn't allow for these issues to burden her and make her all depressed. With the decorations up and her party attire on, she sat in the common area, music playing rather loudly as she waited. Thankfully her roommates hadn't had much of a problem with her turning their room into a party venue.

With a final few spirts of hair spray, Neila was ready for the evening. It was her room mate's birthday party tonight, and they were having people over for the occasion. She was pretty excited, it was bound to be an exciting evening. Taking one last look in the mirror at her new dress she did a twirl, making sure everything looked fine. Once she passed her personal inspection, the redhead opened her bedroom door, padding out into the living room, where everything had already been set up.

She had wanted to help with that, but it had taken her a little longer than she thought to get ready. Her hair just didn't want to co operate with her today. But after much struggle she was able to manage the updo she had now. "Everything looks awesome, Addy!" she exclaimed as she looked around, then offered her friend a hug "Happy Birthday! I have your present, did you want it now before everyone gets here?"

The door opening was the indicator that one of her roommates was ready. And the power that followed the footsteps made it easy for her to know which one. Adrian's eyes snapped up to the phaser and she smiled faintly. Neila was one of her best friends, very peppy and upbeat, loved singing and dancing, it was like they'd been made to room together. Poor Levi had gotten stuck with both of them, but he never seemed to mind. At the personal nickname, Adri just smiled wider and stood up, smoothing her dress down.

"Thanks Neila, it surprisingly didn't take too long. You look so pretty! I love the dress," She said, giving the other girl a hug. The enthusiasm that was vibrating around the room had Adrian's mood lightening and she couldn't help but feel a lot better. Of course things had been rough lately, but it was nice having someone to take all of the depressing darkness out of the room. It used to be Adrian, now it seemed Neila was taking on that role.

Shaking her head, she gave a small sigh, "I thought I told you and Levi not to worry about presents. But I suppose since you already got it for me, I'd like to see it now, yes." She smiled brightly and let the other girl go to retrieve said present. Though Adrian hated people spending money on her, she wouldn't deny anyone a chance to get her something if they really wanted to. She was glad that they liked getting her things.

[Lani Hunter]

It was Adrianna's birthday and Lani was really glad for the opportunity to party and not have to dwell on things too much. It would be a nice break, hopefully, from the crazy that had taken over much of his life. It was a terrible fact that both of them realized they were drifting but oh well, it was Adrianna's birthday so Lani would be damned if anyone ruined it especially him. He had been more like himself recently and he knew it would be better now than what had happened between them on the track. He smiled as he got himself together. He was trying to not look like a 'box' as Odion called it, but hey, he only had so many options. So he was dressed in a pair of light colored jeans and a light gray button up. He rolled the sleeves and loosened the collar. He grabbed the small box in which resided Adrianna's birthday present.

It might relieve her to know that he had bought it, not stolen it. Though the money was another story but that was beside the point. Lucky for Adrianna he had decided agaisnt giving her the ring he had found, it was kind of creepy if he looked at it too long and it didn't really suit Adrianna's personality. Lani had spend a long time considering her before he had made his choice he really hoped she would like it. So with that in hand and an easy smile on his face Lani made his way out of his room humming a happy tune. He hopped down the stairs to Adrianna's room, why was it starting to feel like he didn't go there as much as was normal. He shrugged it off and made his way to her room following the music. His smile only grew as he peered inside. Seeing Adrianna in her dress only brightened his day even more.

She looked outstanding. Lani didn't waste any time as he moved quickly into the room and grabbed Adrianna from behind lifting her into the air and spinning her in a circle. "Happy birthday!" He cried as he did so and finally set her down grinning like a fool at her. Yeah he was in a great mood at the moment and he was not going to let anything ruin that or Adrianna's party. This was a day to celebrate the birth of one of the greatest people he knew. He stole a quick kiss from her, not wanting to make things too awkward for her roommate. Well, any more awkward. He nodded his head in greeting to her, it was so sad he had never met any of Adrianna's roommates though he probably had class with some of them.

"Aw, thanks! You know me, I had to get a new dress for the occasion!" If she was known for anything else then being a gamer girl, it was her love for dresses. She always had to buy every cute dress she saw, even if there was no occasion for it. But when she saw this dress last week, she knew exactly what it was meant for: Addy's party. It was nice enough for the occasion, but not nice enough to out shine the birthday girl. She looked truly beautiful this evening.

Neila watched as Levi came up behind Adrianna, picking her up into a greeting spin. She looked away respectfully as they kissed, giving him a small nod and smile in greeting. "I'll go get your present." she told Adrianna before zooming back into her room

[Robbie Wilkes]

After much coaxing and, of course, promises of slavery and debt, Robbie managed to get Dani to follow him to Adrianna's party.

Coming back to Hammel and talking up security was weird now that he was no longer a student and the feelings of him being that "stupid dumb jock with the high school girlfriend" cropped up. But he couldn't care less. One of his good friends was having a birthday party and he had to be there!

Armed with her birthday present, with help from the perfume lady at the mall, Robbie went to pick Dani up and went to Adrianna's dorm, a place he knew from memory.

Seeing a few people he recognised, Robbie detached himself from Dani with a huge slobbery kiss on her lips. "You'll love it. You're amongst your peers. Enjoy! I love you." Blowing kisses to her already turned back, Robbie approached Adrianna just as she was released from the kiss she was sharing with her boyfriend.

Unintentionally bumping into the redhead and apologising, Robbie held up the gift bag for Adrianna. "Happy 18th!" He rushed her and pulled her off the ground, not really caring that her boyfriend was just there. "You look smoking, Aid." He handed her the bag and pressed a kiss against her cheek.

Adrianna smiled brighter if possible at her roommie. “Any excuse to get a new dress right?” She asked with a giggle. Her and Neila shared the love for dresses, thankfully Adrian had learned that she was not alone when it came to obsession of cute dresses. It just showed how much they were alike, and it was one of the many things Adri loved about her roommate. And though Neila thought she wasn’t outshining the birthday girl, Adrian would disagree because her best girl friend looked absolutely adorable and could definitely steal the spotlight if she wanted.

Hearing the loud whooping and feeling herself being lifted off the ground, Adri let out a squeak until she realized who it was. Once he let her down, she smiled wider and wrapped her arms around his neck to give him a proper hug, and was thankful when Neila went to get the present because she really didn’t want to make things awkward. She blushed as he kissed her, and had to admit she wished he’d lingered. First time in months that she’d wanted to really kiss him, but now was not that time unfortunately. Though she was extremely happy for his good mood, and was relieved by the brightness that was being cast off around her. It made being upset extremely difficult when she had one of her best friends and her boyfriend there to make her smile.

And as if the floodgates had been opened up, another familiar voice rang out and she almost had to do a double-take when she realized who it was. Ever since he’d gone off to college, Adrian hadn’t really seen much of Robbie, but she’d still sent out an invite hoping that he would come. He had been her best friend along with Craven and she’d missed spending quality time with him. In all intensive purposes, he was like an older brother, always there to cheer her up and threaten any guys that screwed with her.

For the second time, her feet left the ground and she laughed, “I can’t believe you’re here! I thought you’d be busy with college or something! I’m so happy you came! And thank you, new dress.” Her face lit up and she couldn’t help but feel special. For once in the past few months, all drama was forgotten and her birthday was actually going great.

Neila let out a small squeak as she collided with one of the new guests as she went to her room. "Sorry!" she called back at him as she walked to her room, fetching the small package on her dresser. The present was wrapped in shiny pink paper, tied off with a golden coloured bow. Inside was a white gold bracelet with a heart charm on it. She really hoped that Addy liked it. She actually spent a lot of time picking it out.

Skipping back out to the party, she waited for an opening in the conversation to jump in and give the birthday girl her gift. "Here you go! Sorry I didn't get you a card, I didn't really like any of them." she admitted with a small smile. She knew Addy wouldn't mind, she wasn't even expecting a present in the first place.

[Lani Hunter]

“You look amazing,” Lani said his smile growing. Oh what a glorious day for Adrianna. His hand reached into his pocket for her present but another person called out to her. Lani’s eyebrow twitched a little as said person also picked up his girlfriend and gave her a kiss, but otherwise his face was a mask of happiness. Adrianna was happy to see him and that was enough for him, today was all about Adrianna and he intended to dote on her all day. She was clearly excited to see the man from the way she started chattering away with him. Now Lani felt a little awkward, he didn’t know a lot of her friends and he was not going to be the type of guy who demanded her attention.

He glanced at the redheaded roommate who appeared back in the room with a little box in her hands. Was it irrational for Lani to worry that they had gotten Adrianna similar gifts? Oh well, Lani was having a hard time letting any sort of stress stay on his shoulders besides Adrianna wouldn’t want a stressed Lani. She would want to happy one that she loved. Well since everyone was handing over their gifts Lani dug his out and handed it over to her. “Happy birthday, Adrianna,” he said a bright smile on his face. What a beautiful day for such a beautiful person. He was so very glad that his masks were good enough again that he could be the happy person she wanted for this happy day. And Lani was happy, but he could hide the inner workings of his mind for a little while to have fun.

How he wished he loved Adrianna the way she wanted him to. He hated to think that they should have just been friends and their relationship was crashing because of that. Oh well, that was a conversation for another day and another day would not be this day nor any day close to this day. But he did love Adrianna. He loved her. But not the way lovers did.

[Robbie Wilkes]

[OOC: I am soooo super sorry for the late!]

Robbie heard the apology. "It's okay dude!" He called out without actually looking at the person, all attentive towards the birthday girl.

"Are you kidding? I wouldn't miss it for the world!" He announced before pointing over to where Dani was standing. "That's my girlfriend. I dunno if you've met her before but she's a little shy so we'll just let her stay where she is." Robbie waved his hand in dismissal. He loved Dani, he really did, but sometimes, he knew she needed to do things on her own time. Which was why he was giving her enough space. She'll probably gravitate back towards him and then he'll introduce her to Adrianna.

"Oh hey! I've never met you before." He pointed to Lani before turning to the redhead. "You either. I'm Robbie!" He beamed and extended both his hands towards the other two.

Adrianna was almost overwhelmed by the sudden burst of energy around her. It had been a long time since she’d had this much excitement around her. The old Adrian wouldn’t have been so overtaken by it, she’d have blended right in and taken it in stride. But there was so much attention on her and though sometimes she loved being at the center, she wasn’t used to it anymore. Lani’s compliment made her blush and she kissed his cheek in thanks. Then a present was being handed to her and another and she couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “I distinctly remember saying no presents you two, buttt I’m not complaining. Thank you!” She set them off to the side on a table designated for presents.

Her attention turned back to Robbie and she giggled. He was always so animated, so fun to be around and his personality was just to die for. Robbie was seriously a more crude, male version of her when she was at her happiest. Very bright and entertaining, extremely social and up for talking to anyone. He motioned over towards his girlfriend, and Adrian could have sworn she’d met the other girl at least once. DanI was her name, that was all she could remember though. The short attention span of Robbie’s had him moving quickly and as he introduced himself, she stepped in.

“Right, introductions! Okay, Robbie, this is my roommate Neila, and my boyfriend, Lani. Guys, this is practically my older brother. As you can totally tell the family resemblance in our very social ways.” Adrian laughed again and moved closer to Lani. For some reason, she almost stuttered on the word ‘boyfriend.’ It wasn’t that she didn’t think they were dating anymore, it just felt weird saying it now. She mentally shook herself and grasped his hand merely for comfort. “Alright, time to play hostess. Does anyone want something to drink? Coke, Mountain Dew, water?” She asked looking around at her friends.
