Just relaxing (Levi)

Today had been a gorgeous day, making staying indoors for the whole thing that much harder. School was bad enough, but when you had good weather taunting out all day, it just made things go by so slow. By the time school let out, some clouds had rolled in, covering up any rays that the students could soak up. Neila let out a sigh as she walked home, the weight of her backpack slowing down the small girl. She had so much homework already, the school year just started.

Not that it was a big deal if she didn't do it. As long as she handed in her assignments and did well on tests, she didn't even have to touch her homework. It just meant more stressful nights of studying. But she didn't mind, it was a nice trade off to not have to do work everynight. She liked to have her evenings to herself.

Getting back into her dorm, she threw her bag into her room, flinging herself onto the couch in the common area. It didn't sound like anyone else was home yet, so she decided to just play some games. Turning on the TV, she loaded up Dark Souls, and began playing.

It was a little while before the door opened, she glanced over for a second, only able to look away for a moment, as she was in the middle of an intense battle. "Levi, hey! How was your day?" she asked him while staring at the screen.

Levi had also been driven inside by the weather. He'd planned on walking into town and hanging out with Evan during his shift at the pet shop. But by the times his last class of the day was over, his boyfriend had sent him a text telling him not to come. He couldn't leave work to pick him up if it started pouring.

He wouldn't mind walking in the theoretical rain, though.

So instead, the sophomore trudged upstairs to his dorm and kicked open the door. He jumped a little when he realized Neila was in the common area, but shrugged slightly when she greeted him. He wasn't exactly close to his roommmates.

But he was more disappointed than grumpy, so he dropped his backpack on the floor and flopped onto the armchair by the TV. He tilted his head back over the arm of the chair so he could watch the screen upside-down, then finally actually answered Neila. "S'okay, I guess. I was gonna walk to the pet store and see Evan, but it looks like it's gonna rain."

Speaking of the pet store, he'd need to get up in a little bit to check on his bunny. But Dragon could wait a few more minutes, and Neila's game had already drawn his attention. She kept playing as he came in, sitting in an armchair watching her play. The game was really hard, especially the level that she was on, so a lot of her concentration was going to that. But she was still listening to Levi. "Aw, that sucks. It didn't look like it was going to rain all day." she thought that there wasn't enough clouds for there to be a huge downpour, if it were to rain, it would probably only be a little bit. But she hated getting wet, but that's also why umbrellas were invented.

After a while, the character on screen died, Neila letting out a small sigh. "Dark Souls. And its really really hard, but I like it. It's kind of like a big world dungeon fantasy kind of game." she explained with a small laugh. She was never good at describing games, at all. A lot of people probably missed out on playing an awesome game because they listened to her lame description. "Wanna play with me? It's easier with someone else."

"Still might not. And I don't even care if I did get stuck in it, but..." He shrugged awkwardly, as it wasn't the most comfortable move when one is lying on his back on the couch. He also didn't think his roommate wanted to hear too much about him and Evan. Even Sam got bored of listening about that, and Sam was his best friend ever.

The game looked pretty cool, if way harder than Mario Kart. Levi wasn't really a gamer; he was more inclined to sprawl out on Sam's bed and watch him play than anything else. But when Neila offered, he figured he could try.

He did need to start talking to people who weren't Evan or Sam.

"Um, okay, sure." Levi twisted around so he was sitting up on the chair the proper way, and looked around for another controller. "Just tell me what I'm supposed to do, and I'll try not to get you killed to badly."

((Two things: 1)Wow im so bad, such a late post! Im so sorry! 2) Dark Souls doesn't have local multiplayer, but we'll just say it does for convenience sake.))

"Well there's always tomorrow." she said happily. She always tried to look for the good in a situation, no matter what. There was always a way to put a positive spin on something. Plus being stuck here playing games with her wasn't that bad either. At least she hoped not.

She handed him a controller, happy that he agreed to play. "I'm sure you'll do fine. Here, i'll choose an easy character for you." she leaned over and pressed a few buttons for him while he held the controller, setting everything up. "Your attack is right trigger, your shield is left, and your magic is A." she tried to explain it as simply as possible. She knew if she went into the complicated real explanation on how to play, he just wouldn't want to anymore. "So how is Evan?" she asked casually as she started up the game, waiting for it to load.

"Oh, um, 'kay." Levi looked down at the controller as she explained the buttons. He could manage A and B just fine, or colors, but he'd always had trouble with the triggers. He was going to mix them up. Hopefully, spamming the magic button would help.

He ran his fingers over the buttons again, trying to memorize them. Levi almost missed the question, but then looked over at his roommate and smiled. She asked, so it was perfectly okay to ramble on about Evan. "He's doing okay. He's always really busy though, with classes and work and physical therapy and stuff. I wish I was eighteen so I could move in with him instead. No offense."

When the game loaded and he had control over his character, he quickly went through the buttons, trying to map them for his fingers. Levi did better than he'd expected, but he'd mixed up attack and shield. "Okay, I think I'm ready to kick something's ass."

She watched as he fiddled with the controller to get used to the controls, glad that she did an okay job explaining things to him. This was a pretty hard game, but she was there to protect his character, so they should be able to stay alive. It would be fun, nonetheless.

She laughed. "None taken, I totally know what you mean. It would be nice to be out of here, though it is fun to live with you guys." they weren't the closest that room mates could be, but she enjoyed his company.

"Alright let's do this!" She got the round loading, "So you're going to move in with Evan when you turn 18? When's that?" she felt a little bad for not knowing when his birthday was, but she had a bad memory to begin with. Even if it was last week, there was a big possibility that the memory slipped her mind, if not only for a moment.

"I want to, yeah. But it's not for another two years. I can't move without Ba...my dad's permission." And that was only if he could afford to pay his share of the rent. Levi was looking for a part-time job in town, but he knew it would mean a lot of saving up. If he moved in with Evan, there was no way his dad was going to pay for college. (Not that he was planning on going anywhere but Greenview anyway.)

Levi focused on the game and cast his magic spell at the first thing that moved. Either it wasn't a bad guy, or he missed, because nothing happened. But then something came running towards their characters, and he hit A again.

"Yes!" He hadn't killed it, but he also hadn't died. Levi went to attack again, hitting it with another magic spell. "How many hits does it take to kill these guys?"
