Romeo doesn’t cuddle. He does stay for a few more minutes (mostly to ask if they have snacks hanging around and munch on them instead of actually having the whole pillow talk thing) but he rarely stays the night and never really spoons anyone. It’s not that he finds the whole thing inherently wrong or disgusting, but it’s just that he has this idea that cuddling usually means attachment. And while he wants people to desire and want more of him, he also wants to be clear that he’s not looking to settle down with anyone any time soon. He’s too young to be tied to anyone, he says. He doesn’t want to miss out on the excitement just yet.
The Irish boy got a little too drunk this particular night though and found himself extremely spent after two rounds of the horizontal tango that he didn’t really mind when Melissa – his blonde lab partner in their Chem class (he was really surprised when he saw her in the frat party actually; she didn’t seem like the ‘sneak out of campus’ and ‘party with the college kids’ type of girl in class, which made it extra fun for him) – pulled the blanket over them and wrapped her arms around his bare waist. He was just about to close his eyes and sleep when her door opened and revealed her boyfriend, all 150lbs of Russian muscle (Dominic was part of the school’s football team), hands balled into fists and muttering expletives under his breath.
“Fuck!” was the only thing Romeo could say before an icicle was thrown at him, dodging the said projectile just in the nick of time. Normally in situations like this the Irish boy would turn his metallic form on and stand his ground, but he’s still a little tipsy, so instead he quickly jumped off the bed and grabbed his clothes, drunkenly walked around Dominic (even tripping the angry Russian in the process) and ran out of the room. (But not before telling Dominic that Melissa kept on repeating how good he was at what he’s doing and how her boyfriend knew not how to use his equipment properly).
Despite the mess he made (he trashed the common room in an effort to put ‘obstacles’) he knew Dominic would easily catch up to him if he didn’t get inside a room quick. His room was no-go; Dominic knew where he was and that’ll be the first room he’ll go to once he and his girlfriend settle things. He was still debating where to go to when he saw a small light from a door a little across the hall.
“Hey! Could I hide here for a bit?” he said, a little breathless and slightly slurry as he closed the door behind him, groping the side for the switch to dim the lights. “Angry boyfriend. You know how it is.”
