The night had passed, long as it was, but the morning came with little greeting either. Lei slept until it was nearing close to lunch time, his body and mind both completely worn out, but it couldn't be helped. He hadn't slept a full night's sleep in days and he wasn't about to wake early. He as sure he'd be able to get out of his classes that day anyway given the circumstance.

Lei exhaled softly, his casted arm resting against his chest, though it was stained red with the discoloration caused by his blood. Lei whimpered slightly as he woke, another bad dream, but he didn't seem nearly as upset about it. Perhaps it was a different sort of bad dream? Who knew, but for now he rested there.

Leiken's eyes would slowly begin to flick open, a small groan passing his lips as his arm weakly raised, attempting to sling over his face in order to shield those eyes from the light of the infirmary.

Juniper had heard about what had happened to Lei - well, sort of. She knew he had been hurt very badly, and that he was still in the infirmary being treated for his injuries. That was all she really knew. She still didn't know him all that well but, being the girl she was, she wanted to help him any way she could.

After getting the okay from the doctor, she decided to pay him a visit after classes were over. She knocked lightly on the door to the infirmary before poking her head inside, glancing around until she caught sight of him. It wasn't until she got closer that she realized how bad he looked, but she managed to keep a bright smile on her face as she sat a tray of soup and tea by his cot, with a stuffed spider she had got for him tucked under one arm. A weird gift to most, perhaps, but she had found out he liked the creatures, and always thought that stuffed animals made everything better.

"Hey, Lei!" she greeted him quietly but with enthusiasm. She noticed the way he was grimacing at the lights and went to turn down the intensity a bit, since he was the only patient in the room. "How are you doing? I thought I would come by and see if you needed anything - I brought some soup and tea, which always makes me feel better when I'm sick." She wasn't sure if it would do the same for injuries, but she wanted to believe it would. She held out the spider then, a light grin on her face. "I brought this to keep you company, too," she told him, placing it on his bedside.

Lei jolted slightly in a startled manner as he heard his voice so suddenly. He had not fully been awake, at least not mentally, and his daze had drawn him to easily fall into that start. He lowerd his arm with a pained sound. Exhaling a heavy sigh as he looked toward the source of the voice. Though he was surprised to see it was the girl who helped him the morning before to make the cupcakes that were likely growing stale on vincent's desk. All that hard work put to waste.

"H..hey Jun.?" he stated in a questioning tone. "Wh..what are you doing here? " he questioned wondering if the girl had been injured somehow that had landed her there by coincidence. He slowly propped himself against the bed a little closer to upright, making small noises as he did so. "Soup and tea? If I had cam's roast beef to go along with it i'd be in heaven. " he stated slowly but more clearly than he'd been able to speak the day before.

He made a surprised sound, looking to the plush spider, trying not to die from the amount of cute he was experiencing between the girl and the plush spider. He picked it up calmly, hugging it into his arms as he spoke softly, "thank you, Jun i love it being here with me." he stated though he looked to the other two teachers who were still sleeping. "everyone's been so good to me.. " he trailed off.

Juniper hadn't meant to startle him, and winced as he jumped slightly at the sound of her voice. "Sorry!" she said in a whisper, glancing to the two other teachers in the room she hadn't really paid attention to. "Oh... I didn't realize they were still here," she said, looking back to him. "I wanted to make sure you were okay. I heard what happened and... Well, I was concerned. I always look out for my friends." Because that's what he was to her. A friend. It didn't take much in her eyes.

She chuckled at him, taking a seat and pulling up next to his bed. "I think it would be best for you to stick with foods that would be more gentle on your stomach since your body's working on healing itself right now, but I'll talk to him about getting that made for you soon." And she would, too, if that's what Lei wanted.

Juniper was glad about his reaction to the spider, smiling down at it before looking up to meet his eyes again. She tried not to let her gaze drop to the numerous bruises she saw all over his skin. "I'm glad you like him," she replied. "Stuffed animals always make me feel better when I'm down." She looked over to Orion and Vincent as he did, her smile widening. "Looks like you've all had a busy night," she said, turning back to him. "You don't have to tell me what happened, but I want you to know that I'm here to listen if you do," she added, going to adjust the tray towards him so he could reach the food more easily. "I'm just glad you're alright."

"it's .. okay." he stated shifting in attempts to get more comfortable, but it was hard to do with how tender his body felt. He was sure he 'd be fine soon enough, but having laid in the same spot with his body aching like it had been, he felt a bit stiff. He shifted a bit, sitting up as he exhaled slowly, though he tensed a little. "H-heard what happened?" he sputtered out. "What exactly did you hear?" he questioned worriedly. Oh god, if anyone knew he'd ended up there because he lost control for being rejected he'd just die right then and there.

"but cam's roast beef...i could die happy if i ate that again." he stated remembering how orgasmically delicious it had been. "ohh ple-please do. " He stated pulling the thin blanket over himself a bit further. "They used tow hen i was a kid.. but they stopped for a long time. this is just so nice though. How did you know I liked spiders?" He questioned as he hugged the plush toy.

"y..yeah... the cupcake thing..didn't turn out so great. He wasn't into me after all." he explained a little sadly. Thinking that everyone was still asleep. "thanks.. i appreciate that, but this is one of those things that is to embarrassing to even talk about...all that needs to be said is...that he does not love me, but i do thank you still.. without your help i might not have ever got them done right.. I'm only sorry that they went to waste." he mentioned lightly.

"ho-honestly.. me too.. I didn't think i was going to be at first. it hurt so much i thought my heart was going to explode."

He seemed upset when Juniper mentioned she knew what happened, so she quickly backpedaled to calm his mind. "I mean, I didn't exactly hear how it happened. I just heard you'd been hurt. And I, um... I heard you scream, yesterday. The wind carries sounds to me sometimes, I'm not sure who else heard it, but I don't think very many people know." She did hear a lot of things that she didn't mean to on the air, although sometimes she did it on purpose too; it was a useful trick. "Please, relax. Everything is alright." She spoke in a tone that her mother had always used to comfort her when she woke up from a nightmare, calm and gentle.

"Well, I'd rather you didn't die, but I'll see what I can do," she replied, grinning cheekily. She looked down at the plushie again, hit with a small wave of nostalgia. "Yeah, I used to have so many when I was a kid, too. Don't tell anyone, but I still sleep with my panda plushie." She chuckled a little, looking up at him. "Oh... Lucky guess?" Sometimes she felt she had an almost ESP sense, she thought - for some reason, when she had seen the spider, it just seemed perfect for Lei.

"Oh, no," she sighed, sorrow touching her features when he mentioned the cupcakes not working. "Oh, Lei, I'm so sorry to hear that." She clasped her hands together and looked at the ground, obviously upset with this fact. "I understand. I just wish it could have worked out in your favor." Ideas of what could have possibly happened to make Lei this injured whirled through her head, but she didn't ask about it; he had a right to his own privacy. "Don't worry about that. I'm just glad I met you," she told him, letting a smile touch her face again. "We'll just have to make another batch sometime."

She grimaced as he continued, clutching he hands more tightly together. "That sounds absolutely terrible," she murmured, reaching her clasped hands up to press against her own heart. "I can't imagine how that must have felt."

"Y.. you heard me scream?" he stated with an embarrassed expression. his features becoming smothered against the plush spider and his own knees as he drew them closer to himself. Cringing as he did so due to those bruises. "I hope not many know. I don't want too many people to know about me getting hurt espe... especially don't tell Odion."He stated as he gripped at his chest a bit. "Last thing i need is that kid torturing me while i'm recovering" he gave a small, quiet laugh to jun as he shook his head.

"I am not going to die." he assured her with a chuckle. "At least.. i hope not." he suggested. "not unless you can die from a broken heart." he noted with an exhausted tone. "you must be good luck then." he stated quietly still. his features flushed a little bit to her reassurance, "I'mg lad i met you too.. " despite having her say his name reminded her of a fungus.

"Like my soul was being ripped away from my body. Like someone was peeling my skin off and stabbing me through the heart." he stated with a shake of his head.

"Yeah," Juniper replied quietly, her eyes softening as he curled in on himself. "It was horrible. You sounded... You sounded like you were dying." The last word was a little choked, and she cleared her throat, looking away for a moment before looking back again. "I don't think too many people know. I mean, I'm not going to tell anyone that you don't want me to." She shook her head. "No, of course I won't tell Odion." She wasn't quite sure why he specifically should not know, but she would do whatever Lei wished.

"No, you're not," she told him firmly, as though she had any control over whether he did or not. When he continued, though, her heart ached for him. Broken hearts were the worst, and there was nothing that could heal them but time. "I know it hurts now, but it will get better with time. I know that's not really comforting to you now, but..." She shrugged. It was all she knew what to say. She smiled, though, as he said he was glad he met her too, and she blushed slightly and glanced down. "I'm glad. I just wish we could be meeting again under different circumstances."

She winced sympathetically as he explained how he had felt, closing her eyes and pressing her hands against the side of her head. "That's horrible," she replied in a hoarse whisper. "Are you feeling better now?" She dearly hoped so.

"I would have...but we have good teachers here. " he stated looking to where the other two had been. Though they had gone on for now to do their own routines he hoped they would come back to speak with him later. Or at least after he'd recovered fully. "They took care of me and Mrs. Ken did too." he stated with a faint smile. "Thank you." he stated with a slight relieved tone.

"I know. I knew all along it wouldn't work out, but part of me just hoped it would by some miracle fall into place. I'm a horrible person." though he didn't elaborate on why he felt that way due to the fact that it would give too much away about the ring of emotions he was feeling right then. "It's alright. At least we meet again. " he stated with a smile to her.

"A little, but i am a little hungry. " he stated to her weakly.

"We do," Juniper agreed. Unlike many students, she was quite close to most if not all of her teachers; they always had wisdom to share, and she wanted to get as much knowledge as she could before she graduated. "Oh, Mrs. Ken has helped me before too," she added, thinking back to a couple times when she had been practicing training and accidentally hurt herself. It happened to almost everyone. "She's wonderful."

"You're not a horrible person," she told him quietly, resting her hands on his bed. "We all do dumb things when we're infatuated with someone. It's just human nature. We just need to learn from our mistakes and continue on." She smiled gently. "Trust me, I've made my share of dumb decisions too."

"Well, I can fix that!" she told him, reaching to pull the tray of food on her lap so she could hand the bowl of soup to him. "I would eat slowly, to make sure it goes down okay. But I think you should be fine. If you're still hungry afterwards, I can look into getting you some more solid food." Perhaps not roast beef yet, but maybe some toast or eggs. She didn't want to upset his stomach, after all, especially after what he had just gone through. He had been in enough pain as it was.

He nodded firmly, agreeing with her, "She is, Even despite me being so bother some to her, and her family." he stated in a tone that wished he could express the proper apology. That's right. He'd figured it out. The more he sat there and though the more it made sense to him. From the time the doctor had said she knew vincent very well to the sight of their matching wedding bands. He was sure of it now.

Leiken laughed slightly, "I tend to make them alot. " he stated raising a trembling hand to brush over his own hair to comfort himself in his own thoughts. "You? Impossible..." he stated looking to the girl there. "You've done nothing but help me since we met. Look at you i mean. Coming to see me even though I wasn't the nicest person." he stated with a tinge of regret.

Leiken carefully took the soup though the bowl rattled somewhat in his hands. He nodded to her gently seeming quite thankful for the soup and he immediately began to spoon it into his mouth. Sipping it off the spoon carefully as not to take in too much at once. The last thing he wanted was an upset stomach or to hurl on the nice girl because he ate to quickly.

Leiken made a happy sound as the warm soup touched his sore stomach, it felt soothing, yet it stung slightly at the very same time. Making him a little nauseated, but he did best to ignore it. He needed that food on his stomach, he ate so little as it was, plus she had gone out of her way to make it for him. "It's very good." he stated as a matter of fact. It was delicious to his tastes and the feel of it sliding down his throat was far more satisfying than he would have imagined.

"I'm sure you're not a bother," Juniper replied lightly. "It's her job to take care of us, after all. If we didn't go to her with our troubles, what would she have to do?" She wasn't quite sure what had happened to Vincent, but she was pretty sure he was doing okay, just healing from whatever had happened.

"I think as long as we learn from our mistakes, it's okay to make them more often than we would really like," she mused. Life was a learning process, and if one was perfect all the time, what was there to learn? She chuckled at his comment. "Not impossible at all. I've done plenty of things I wish I hadn't. But I've learned not to regret anything, you know? Everything happens for a reason." She smiled and patted his knee under the blanket. "You're nice enough, Lei. And no one deserves to go through something like this without a little help from a friend." True, he had his teachers, but she hoped seeing someone close to his own age would also be beneficial to him.

She watched for a moment to make sure he wasn't eating too fast before pulling out a journal from her messenger bag and beginning to write in it. She settled more comfortably into her seat, not planning on moving for a while longer.

Glancing up as he spoke, she grinned. "I'm glad. I wasn't sure what kind you would like, so I got just regular noodle soup." Just like what she did for Amos. "Oh, and that's mint tea in the mug, if you want any. I made it with fresh mint leaves." A moment later, she went back to scribbling in the journal, tucking her legs up into the chair to be more comfortable. "Just let me know if you need anything else," she added.

"That's what she said." he stated though he wasn't saying it to be funny. It had been what she said when he first woke. Leiken exhaled heavily, still feeling terrible about it all, though most of all he felt as if he were going to fall to pieces. The memories of his dreams plagued him so strongly and it was not aiding in the situation nor the thoughts that had gathered within his mind due to the chain of events that had occured.

Leiken smiled faintly before that lip would quiver, "Part of me...wishes that i weren't so stupid." he stated choking back the urge to break down right there infront of that girl. "Does it? What reason is there for it? I don't see what good has come of me having fallen for a man who would never want me." he stated with a tear-choked voice. But he lowered his head, taking in a shaken breath, trying to avoid sheading tears despite the emotional and physical pain he was experiencing.

"It's good. Thank you for taking care of me." he stated gratfully. Giving a happy sound as he slurped the noodles off the spoon. He took the mug of tea after setting the near-empty bowl aside. his stomach aching with pain and nausea he opened that mug. Breathing in the scent of the mint, he'd always felt better after drinking tea with mint leaves, it soothed his nausea and that thought alone made him not hesitate to sip at the tea quietly.

The crestfallen look on Lei's face made Juniper just want to hug him, but she wasn't sure how he would feel about that. All things considered, she still really didn't know him all that well, as much as she wished otherwise. Maybe sometime in the future, it would be a possibility.

"You're not stupid," she murmured, reaching out to brush her fingers across the smooth fabric of the spider plushie. She was a sympathetic crier, and the tears she saw in his eyes made her own water, and she brushed the back of her hand against them and hoped that he couldn't tell. "I wish I could tell you," she replied in a shaky voice. "But I don't know. I just have to believe that there's some reason for heartbreak." She had never personally experienced really bad heartbreaks, but she had had her share of crushes that never turned into anything, and they hurt bad enough. "And it's okay to cry if you need to," she added quietly. "Sometimes it helps. I'm not sure how, but it does for me."

"Anytime," she replied, sniffing slightly and taking a deep breath before smiling at him again. It was slightly watery, but she was doing her best. She just hated to see people in pain, whether physical or emotional. He seemed to be getting through the soup okay, and was even drinking the tea when that was done. "Is everything going down okay?" she asked, looking up from a doodle of a spider she was drawing in her journal.

"You'd be surprised." he stated when she declared that he was not stupid. Though academically speaking he was not, he did do alot of stupid things, and had very poor judgement. Alot of which had stemmed from psychological issues. Lei gave out a heavy sigh as the girl tried to persuade him otherwise.

"I don't know of any reason why it would be okay to feel like this. " he choked out as he let out a heavy sigh. Trying to push the emotion from within his body in one good blow. Though he looked back toward the sympathetic hippie and smiled vaguely. "i won't cry. i've done enough of that lately." he stated though the look in his eyes did not seem as sure as his words were.

he nodded slowly though he tried to fight back the nausea so that he would not upset her by getting sick. He set the items aside and laid gently back against the bed. Hoping that it would help settle his stomach better, " y..yeah.. Everything is fine. I am just full now thanks." he told her with a smile. "You don't have to stay if you have something to do..." he sighed.
