Orion chuckled at the offer of more hugs. "Fantastic," he replied with a smile. He didn't even think that the hugs would be anything more, but that was just him.
He shot Lei a sympathetic look as he drove, but made sure to keep a sharp eye on the road. "I understand," he replied quietly. "That would indeed be horrible. Well, then, we will avoid accidents today!" he declared optimistically. The fact that Lei was worried more about the other people that would be involved in an accident rather than himself made Orion's heart twinge sadly. Lei really was quite selfless - he just didn't seem to realize it.
"The older models are very interesting to look at," Orion agreed with a bob of the head. "Not as accurate or effective as the newer ones, of course, but still incredibly advanced." He smiled. "The museum has other things too - a piece of meteorite, sundials, a spectrohelioscope... It's pretty amazing."
"Oh, you've heard of it!" Orion smiled as Lei declared his delight. "Wonderful. It really is fantastic." It was great he had a place so close to home that he could visit as much as he wanted. As Lei got out, Orion headed inside, stepping quietly into the front room.
"Aye, I love coming here when I get the chance," he replied. Before going to the front desk, he added,"Oh, he worked on tons of things - telescopes and manufacturing machinery and tons of other inventions. He was granted 119 patents for his inventions in his lifetime. It's incredible." Orion took a step, then glanced back and added,"Oh, he was the governor for a while too."
He greeted the lady at the counter with friendly recognition and, before too long, Orion slipped her a couple twenty-dollar bills and walked back over to Lei, nodding to the back of the room. "Right back here." He pulled open a door that led to a small room, with a staircase leading downward into a dimly lit passage. "And down we go!" Orion went first, and the stairs easily held his weight until he got to the bottom.
