[Chester Douglas]

Considering recent events, Chester was actually in a better mood than he thought he would be in. He was still not sure where he stood with Cameron and that was not a good thing for him. It was a constant point in his life that he knew where he stood when it came to Cameron.

Shaking his head, he shoved one hand in his pocket while the other adjusted his bag strap. He needed to go home. Clear his mind, talk to Alex maybe. Maybe the butler would give him wise words.

He looked up, his eyes catching a movement in the corner or the pond. A familiar blond came into sight and he frowned slightly, wondering why he looked so familiar. Pinpointing his thoughts on the boy, Chester's frown turned into an eyebrow raise as he walked over to the boy.

"I knew you looked familiar." He smirked, scrutinising the blond. "You actually look good in the light."

"Oh, look at that," Rhett said without turning his head towards the ginger. "you don't. But that isn't really news, is it now?"

Throwing another handful of fish food in the pond, Rhett turned his head towards the other boy at last and offered a very short and nigh honest smile. He knew there was almost no point at all in lying to Chester, he did look good, and he knew it before turning his head, but he couldn't find himself from answering snappily at that. Just as he himself was being scrutinized, Rhett did the same to Chester, and a several memories from a few months back came into his mind. It had been a good night, not only a lot had been done, but a lot had been said as well.

It was really hard to find someone like Chester around Hammel, and although initially he was glad he hadn't run into the other boy in all this time, Rhett was also glad that they had finally managed to do so now.

"I would congratulate you for recognizing me with my clothes one," He said while returning his attention to the fishes. "but I know you cheated."

Rolling his eyes, Chester waited until the other boy turned to him and his thoughts flooded in. Like anybody could actually hide their actual thoughts from him. He didn't say anything about it though, he simply smirked, lending him that obnoxious look he was notorious for.

His statement had Chester chuckling as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I hardly think it was cheating. I try not to waste my time remembering people I have no use for." He said, leaving it open for interpretation. "Never pegged you for a fish feeder. I always thought they hired people to do that." He paused before raising an eyebrow. "Are you the person they pay to feed the fishes, Goddard?"

"Well," Rhett offered Chester another very short smile, "I'm flattered."

Being the mild jerk that he is, it probably would surprise most people to learn that Rhett in fact does like animals. He had a dog, Trouble, that, even though lived in France for the moment, was still his. It was the reason why he had started liking animals, Trouble was Rhett's best, and probably only, friend, and was his constant company for several months before giving to his little sister back in his motherland. He missed that dog.

"You know, most people think fish have a memory span of minutes," he continued feeding the Koi. "I envied them for that, but in fact some can remember for about five months, and I mean," he lifted his shoulders, "don't get me wrong, it's still enviable, but it was a tad disappointing. I still like them," he looked at Chester and handed him the bag of fish food to the ginger, offering him to join in the feeding, "no one's paying me to feed them, they don't need to and I don't either. Bartenders' salary is good enough at The House."

Surprised at the sentimentality the blonde was exuding as he thought of his dog back home, Chester couldn't help but think about Lexus, his horse. It was probably not a coincidence that these two were actually similar in that they would rather show affection to animals than to human beings.

Chester held his smirk as Rhett spoke about the fishes. He was having a little trouble wondering why in the world this boy was being so sad. He raised an eyebrow at the offer of the fish food before laughing shortly in derision. "You work at the House? They actually let you in? I didn't know they were looking to cheapen the joint."

"Now that," Rhett said to Chester, mildly knowing how he had in mind from Rhett's speech, "that is saddening. Feeling a bit off today? I knew that telepathy talk was, well, just talk."

Rhett seemed to remember a Chester more more know-it-all than this, but hey, Rhett couldn't real point fingers. Rhett's meta ability was mostly passive, and maybe because of that it was more active than abilities that were supposed to be activated by will, like Chester's telepathy. Then again, he was quite sure that the ginger wasn't in control of his ability yet, maybe it was a low-use day, or maybe he had tired it enough already.

"They don't, they give us uniforms," Rhett placed in his mind images of it to see if Chester would, and could, grab them. "That way we all look burlesque-y and not cheap." The blonde turned again towards the pond to continue feeding the fish, "But, hey, at least they let me in," he smiled softly, "you know, play good and on May when you become legal, I'll invite you and get you a discount."

"I'm the saddening one? You admire fish for their short memory spans yet I am the one who's sad? I'm sorry but I'm not the one who wants to forget about my ex who hates me." Chester raised an eyebrow with a sideways smirk.

If the blond was looking for a punching bag, he was really unlucky finding one that punched back.

"Can't quite see you in fringey leotards and make-up, blondie." Chester shook his head in amusement. "And that's very generous of you but I could buy the land off the lot. There's no reason for you to give me a discount." He responded in a lazy drawl.

"Oh, Alexander," Rhett smiled, "you have indeed lost your game. I was totally thinking about you when I said that." The blonde gave Chester a fake saddened look with a small shake of the head. "So I wouldn't waste my time remembering someone I have no use for," Another dim smile found his way into Rhett's face. "Like you said."

No punching bags were in this scenario, and it was a fact Rhett was aware of. Chester was just as good as Rhett when attempting to attack or defend himself with words, or maybe even better now that Rhett has started making progress in being a nicer guy, but it didn't mean the blonde was willing to make it any easier for Chester. Where would the fun in that be? Nicer guy or not, Chester had opened a topic that Rhett was not going to ignore, or forget, he was going to take advantage of it.

"Good, because I don't wear them." For a minute there, Rhett wondered if that was Chester's lame image of what burlesque was. "I don't think you could, but your parents could..." Rhett pondered while looking away, "then again, are you still stealing from them? You know, maybe you could, you're right." Rhett shrugged lightly and returned his atention to the fishes. "How silly of me, really, I mean, you barely accept a kiss and declaration of love from the person you're in love with, how were you going to accept my birthday gift? By the way, how is Cameron doing?"

Chester tried to make sense of Rhett's words but found that he had no idea what the blond was talking about so he just kept quiet and shook his head in mild amusement.

"Thank God for mankind's eyesights then." Chester smirked at Rhett's response to his statement. "And no, that is not my lame image of what burlesque is." He chuckled, not offended at all that he thought so. Chester always found it easy never to be offended because that was what made people so easily angered. When he didn't have much of a reaction to what they deemed offensive.

But it did surprise him when Rhett mentioned the stealing. He didn't show it, as a lazy smirk hid it well enough. "I'm sorry you had to correct yourself there." He said before rolling his eyes at Rhett's accurate description of what had happened between him and Cameron. Yes, he was deeply disturbed that someone else knew about it but he was smart enough to know that he shouldn't react to it because that would be the ammo Rhett needed to think he won this whole game they were unwittingly playing.

"I would ask you the same thing about Odion but oh I'm sorry. He's actively avoiding you right now, isn't he?" Chester asked, feigning concern for a second before smirking. "Has Ulrich got you on such a tight leash though, Goddard? I'd have to pay him a visit one of these days and see what it is about him that has you so...uptight."

Rhett couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head at Chester's silent response. Rhett: one, Chester: zero.

"Oh, then you just pictured me in that attire for your own amusement?" Rhett wondered out loud. "Well, in your mind is the only place you'll see me like that, in case you had your hopes up."

Unfortunately for Chester, even if he could hide his physical reactions to Rhett's words, the facts couldn't be hidden from Rhett's ESP. The boy was full aware he had hit a soft spot, but he wasn't surprised, his words hadn't been random, his comment was tailored specially for Chester with the objective of touching, and rubbing, that soft spot. The sole mention of Odion and Ulrich only confirmed it out loud for Rhett. Things were getting serious.

"Well, he has a new boyfriend, I can't blame him if he's trying to not make him jealous because of me." But Rhett already made Lani a bit jealous, and this was not the reason why Odion avoided Rhett. "Or are you good friends with Ducky?" There, nice and simple. "Oh, but I like the leash," Rhett threw another handful of fish food to the pond before sending the ginger a smile. "And the spanking paddle. We like to keep it fun and, well, you know I'm a bad boy. I should be punished."

Rhett's chuckle should have angered Chester but all it did was make him chuckle himself. If these minor victories helped Rhett sleep at night, then why not let him have it. Besides, the boy was talking in riddles and who has time to solve riddles? Not Chester, obviously.

"Oh I truly hope so. It's torture enough to have it in my head, why would I want to actually see it in the flesh?" Chester shrugged, his eyebrow quirked mid forehead.

"Goddard, you are so adorable." The redhead ruffled the blond's hair as emphasis. "The way you still think you could effect any outcome despite knowing you've lost him."

The question posed, followed by the statement made Chester genuinely chuckle. It also brought a disturbing mental image which was probably going to scar him for life.

"You are one twisted motherfucker, Goddard." He wiped his mouth and chuckled behind his hand. "You probably already knew that. Seeing that you actually willingly fell in love with Odion Martins of all people."

"Oh, I've been told so before," Rhett said at Chester's sarcastic compliment, "thanks."

Contrary to Chester, and maybe even Odion himself, Rhett didn't believe he had lost the ginger. Granted, things had changed considerably, and Odion wanted little to do with Rhett, but if history had showed something, is that at the end of the day, they always end up together in some way or another, and history is definitely cyclic. Maybe Rhett had lost Odion romantically, but did that matter? Rhett had Lani at the moment for that, and while the blonde and the ginger remained at the same school, Rhett really doubted that they were going to be simply strangers who don't interact with each other. It wasn't ideal, but it was something.

"You gingers simply have a way with me," Rhett chuckled, although knowing that, in fact, was actually true. "Firecrotches and all that, how can I say no?" An amusing though passed through his mind. "Maybe I'll go hit on Ducky next, if Cameron decides to talk to you again, ask him to introduce us, would you kindly?"

Chester simply rolled his eyes and shifted his weight to his other foot, wondering why he was still here. It wasn't to prove a point. He was probably beyond that. And it was definitely not because he wanted anything from the blonde because...no. Even though the blonde was probably one of his best lays, he wouldn't want a repeat of it.

"No, you're just very easy to satisfy." Chester drawled lazily before scrunching up his nose at the blonde's next words. "Don't stoop so low. Do you want Odion to kill you? I mean, that's just wrong, going for the ex's brother. Then again, you're insane enough to think you can. Who am I to stop you?" He shrugged.

"God, as much as this has been so utterly fascinating, I'm going to have to cut it short. I have to...shoot something to feel joy again. I'd say have a good day, but you'd probably forget it in three seconds." He nodded with a smirk before turning on his heels, still wondering why in the world he even stopped to talk to the blonde.
