To Be with You (Leiken)

[Juniper Birdsong]

Juniper paused as she entered the food court, looking around for a familiar face. Not seeing Leiken, she found a table near the edge of the area, perching lightly in the edge of her chair. She wasn't quite sure what this was - she didn't know if she should be so dreamy as to call it a real date - but she had gone to the trouble of dressing up in a cute, feathery dress with light leggings and some flats. Also, after having received her gift from Amos - a hair straightener! - she had taken advantage of this excuse to use it. It felt weird to have her hair all straight and not getting in her face, but it was sort of fun to try something new. It nearly reached her hips, it was so long.

She gazed around the room again, biting her lip a little nervously. Leiken had told her to meet him here, but she was a few minutes early; she had been way too excited to run the risk of being late. She couldn't help but wonder what he had in mind, and so she played idly with a strand of hair, trying to keep her heart from beating out of her chest.

Lei had already arrived, much too early, he had to in order to get everything he needed ready. After all, he had very little funds left to pull this off with, but it was important to him to spend one more night with Jun before he would leave for his trip. He didn't know what would come of it, but he knew if he did not tell her where hew as going it would be devistating for her to find him absent without a word. Not only that, but he wanted to spend time with her in the sense that he wanted to pretend that this particular day was new years day with her. He wanted to hold her, to kiss her, to wish her luck for the new year and hopefully for them in that new year.

There was so much to say, yet so little time to say it in.

Lei walked toward her table, at last, holding a box in his hands. The fabric of his outfit holding to his figure tightly as he walked. The shoes he were giving him a little extra height as they tapped to the floor carrying him a little too gracefully over to the table Juniper waited at. "You're early, Princess." he stated happily. Looking her over somewhat, a little surprised by her hair, "Your hair..." he stated as he stared at the straight strands.

WHERE WERE HIS CURLS!? Yes, his, curls. He loved her curly hair so much, but he was surprised to see that they were gone. Sure she still looked beautiful, but the curls!

Juniper's eyes caught sight of Leiken, and she absolutely lit up. She had to keep herself from jumping out of her seat and tackle-hugging him, and instead just fidgeted in her chair and waited for him to reach her. He looked as wonderful as always, of course, and she smiled brightly as he spoke.

"I didn't want to be late, so I came a little early instead," she replied, her cheeks dimpling from the strength of her smile. "I'm really excited." She didn't know what he wanted to tell her, but she figured any time spent with him was going to be amazing no matter what happened. As his eyes seemed to look over her hair, she giggled a little nervously.

"Amos got me a straightener for Christmas, so I thought I would try it out. I'm not sure if I like it more or not, but it was sort of fun." She ran a hand through the unnaturally straight strands. "What do you think?" She turned her gaze to look at him again. She remembered on Christmas when he had cut his own hair, and he had asked her what she thought about it, so she thought she should return the question.

Unable to contain herself any longer, she launched out of her chair and gave him a hug, uncaring of what the people around them thought.

"you're so adorable Princess. I am really glad that you came. I was hoping I could spend time with you before new years." He stated as he sat down in the seat across from her after placing a soft kiss upon her cheek. Placing the box down infront of her with a smile. "I got us some vegan dounuts. I hope you don't mind that?" he stated as he smoothed the ruffled fabric at his collar a bit.

"You're still so very beautiful, bu..but.. I am so used to seeing your curls. I kind of miss them already, but it does show off that beautiful face you have alot more this way." he stated extending a hand in attempts to draw his fingertips along her cheek.

Though he made a surprised sound as she launched herself to hug him, his face reddened a bit deeply , he looked around slightly. Though back to her before wrapping his arms around her tightly. Gripping her firmly against his chest, a happy sound escaping his lips, he hugged her as if he were hugging her for the very last time. Perhaps a little to tightly as he breathed in her scent. "oh princess..." he cooed to her as he held her.

God would he ever die if Cam happened to see them. He was sure the other man would tease him to death and where they were in sight of the donuts place he could only imagine that if cam had been working he would have been rolling in laughter by now.

Juniper laughed lightly, her cheeks flushing at Lei's words, as usual. "I love spending time with you, no matter the day," she replied, her smile unwavering. However, it was a special time of the year, and she was looking forward to spending the time with him on such an occasion. The kiss made the butterflies in her stomach go crazy, and she watched as he sat across from her, giving an eager look as he told her what he had gotten. "Oh, that's wonderful!" she exclaimed. "I love donuts from The Holey Land!" It was one of the few places in town that had such vegan options, and the fact that Lei had gone out of his way to get them made her giddy. "Thank you!"

She looked down bashfully as Lei called her beautiful, her fingers lacing together in her lap as she gave him a shy smile. "I kind of miss them too," she replied,"But... Th-thank you. You're so sweet." She lifted a hand to trace against his as he reached out to her.

Juniper was surprised with the tightness Lei hugged her back, but laughed as he wrapped his arms around her. She wondered if he was embarrassed by the sign of public affection, but she just couldn't help herself. And by the way he was holding her, she had a feeling he didn't mind. She pressed her head into his shoulder before finally pulling away, giving him an apologetic look. "I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself," she told him with an embarrassed smile.

She settled back down in her seat, although scooted it a little closer to the table so they were still close. "So, what did you have planned?" she asked curiously. She still didn't know why they were at the mall, other than the doughnuts that he had so generously bought for them.
