It was getting colder with December approaching. Kiara wasn’t too fond of the temperature change and she didn’t really like to see the trees so… nude without their leaves. Nevertheless, given her parents had always told her it was healthy to take a stroll around this time of the year, the blonde had opted to make a brief walk to the lake. A grey beret sat on top of her curls, maintaining extra warmth since most tended to escape by your head.
With hands tucked into the pockets of her coat, she eventually took them out upon sitting down at the sand area near the water. It was calm out, much to her relief. It gave her a decent moment to decently plan what to do for Christmas in her head, what to buy Jackson. In the process, fingertips absentmindedly racked through the loose sand, enjoying the grainy texture against her skin. After another minute or so, a repeating motion got her to dig two holes, one at each side. That was until something sharp suddenly dug itself through delicate skin. Shard of glass.
Kiara immediately retracted her hand, wincing as a rather loud ”Ouch!” could be heard before she quickly inspected the deep cut that nearly ran in the middle of her palm. ”Crap,” the blonde muttered as her other hand attempted to find a handkerchief in her pockets, to no avail. She hoped it wouldn’t get infected seeing the grains of sand already clung to the wound. In an attempt to stop the bleeding, even though she sort of expected it might have the opposite effect, Ki squeezed her hand shut. Maybe it would stop? If not, the trip back to college would come sooner than expected.
