Another day, another detention, something that was pretty routine for Joshua Ortega. The young meta spent far to much time in detention for one person and hated every bit of it, but for some reason it just couldn't be helped. It seemed like anything the hyperactive teleporter did qualified him for detention. Texting in class, detention! Breaking curfew, detention! Answering when a teacher rhetorically asks "Do I look stupid to you?" detention! Teleporting into class twenty minutes late onto the teacher's desk, detention! It was like the system wanted him to fail, how could any of those instances ever be avoided? At least that's how Josh felt.
Regardless of how unfair the system was, Josh did have to follow it to some degree. He did usually attended the detentions he was given, Josh was at least smart enough to make sure his detention never escalated to suspensions or expulsion by ditching them. His parents and his grandmother would ring his neck if that happened.
So, there he was again popping into detention out of nowhere at the very last second before he was considered late. He plopped down into an empty desk and let out his "I can't believe I'm here again" groan. He leaned his head back as he rocked in his hair and drummed his fingers on the desk. He'd end up changing positions and making several different noses throughout the hour as he waited rather impatiently to be released from his captivity. This time however, Josh wouldn't be spending detention alone, he glanced over at the door as someone else walked in, someone he hadn't seen in a while.
