Truth or Dare (OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS)

It was all Adrianna's idea.

Levi didn't even know all the people who had piled into the common room of their suite to play truth or dare, and he was pretty sure he would be happier sitting in his room, texting Evan. But his roommates had insisted that he come and play too, and so far, it wasn't so bad. They hadn't gotten around to playing yet, because they were waiting for a few more people to show.

The sophomore had claimed a spot on the floor, next to the TV. It really was a pretty friendly gathering so far, so he was happy enough. (Evan was right about him being more social with people who weren't friends with Sam. Levi would call him after and tell him about it, then ask if he had made any new friends.)

Levi chewed on his lip and looked around the room, connecting as many faces to names as he could. He didn't know everyone, but hey, this was for making friends, right? So he turned the person sitting at the end of the couch closest to him and said, "Um, hey. I'm Levi. What's your name again?"

(Levi will pick truth when asked.)

((Okay guys, this is a party thread! You don't have to worry about post order, so have your character jump in when you want, observing and responding to things going on. In your intro post, make an OOC note about whether your character will respond with truth or dare when asked.

Whoever asks them will jump straight to the question/challenge. Pay attention though! If you do not respond to the question within 48 hours of being asked, someone else is able to jump in with some kind of save/distraction, making it their turn. They can volunteer to answer a question or do the dare, or say something like "Come on, stop picking on him, let's dare Adrian to prank call Dr. Neville."

At the end of a response to a truth/dare, your character can present one to another. Try to include everyone in this. Make a note at the end of every truth/dare you complete with how your character will respond next.

These rules are in place to keep the game and the thread moving. By posting in this thread, you are agreeing to these rules. Levi will ask the first question/issue the first dare after a few people have shown up.))

AJ was on his way back from the cafeteria with two large containers of ice cream (one Neapolitan and the other some sort of nutty, fudge-ripple thing). He was thinking of stopping by Jared's or Kevin's rooms to see if either of them wanted to help him finish off the ice cream. But somewhere along the line, he got turned around and ended up in the wrong room. AJ tended to end up in the wrong place just as often as the new students, but it wasn't something he worried about. It just helped him stumble into more new adventures.

The room he had walked into was filled with people which was exciting because A) it looked like they were all having fun and B) he had found someone to help him eat the ice cream.

Setting down the ice cream on a table, he started looking around for some spoons. He would have asked, but he wasn't sure who actually lived in this room. After all, it would be rude to ask another guest where to find spoons, right?

He had just sat down on the couch, thinking maybe someone would just magically bring them out without him asking, when a boy he recognized from class turned to ask him a question.

"Levi, right, I knew that...well sorta...I was gonna guess Lorenzo actually, but that's close right?" he said, grinning. "You like ice cream? What's going on in here? Someone's birthday? Oh...I'm AJ. You asked my name, right?"

[Emilia Minks]

Emilia was walking down the hall. She had just been enjoying some alone time in her dorm while her dorm mates were out, reading the new book she’d gotten at the book store a few days ago, when noise from down the hall distracted her. She wasn’t sure if she was more annoyed or curious as she headed towards the sound.

As she got closer she was definitely more curious than anything else. Whatever was going on sounded like fun, maybe a party or something? Emi wasn’t the type to go to parties usually, but as she was already practically just outside the door, and with this noise she wasn’t going to be able to enjoy her book anyways, she figured she might as well check it out, maybe just pop her head in for a minute. She told herself she’d just check it out, and if it wasn't her thing she could always go get her book and head somewhere quieter.

As she walked into the room that the noise had been coming from she noticed two guys chatting, with ice cream sitting in front of them on the table. Anything with ice cream couldn't be too bad, especially if it was chocolate or coffee, so she decided she’d join them. One was that kid she always saw outside, “Hey you’re AJ, right?” She asked as she took the spot on the couch next to him “I’m Emi”. “What’s all this about? Some kind of party?”

Noam had heard that Truth or Dare was happening in room 210. That was more than enough incentive to get off of his procrastinatory butt and do something in the form of walking down the hall and playing truth or dare with a few other Hammel students. He was actually smirking as he walked in. Noam was legendary at TOD, at least in his own (special) mind. He wondered if the dares would be good, at least. Most of the time, people didn't give the best of dares, which got on Noam's nerves- at least give them something hard, not the easy-peasy dares that normally happened!

He waltzed in, wondering if he should sing something to announce his arrival. A smirk graced his face, and he plopped down on the other side of AJ. "I hope you'll all pick dare at least once," Noam announced, grinning.

"Name's Noam, in case you haven't heard of me. I'm the effing best at this game," he said, introducing himself in a humble manner(for Noam). "C'mon, who's going first?"

[Sayaka Ito]

How she had managed to find her way into this room was, really, anyone's guess. She had heard that some other kids were playing Truth or Dare, and ordinarily, that would not have interested her, but...it DID interest her. And she didn't really know why. Maybe it was because, for once, she actually wanted to interact with people?

Either way, the young eleven year old had found herself sitting with all these big people, a bit wide-eyed as she looked around curiously. She was, unlike the other people, not sitting, but standing there in the room awkwardly, looking between all of them with a shy look on her face. She held her hands clasped before her, trying not to appear as nervous as she actually was.

"U-Um...hello?" she queried of them all. Should she sit? But where? It'd be rude if she sat on the wrong thing. What if the owner of this room (whoever that was) didn't want people sitting just anywhere? So Sayaka just stood there. Awkwardly. She was used to being awkward, but she had hoped that might be different here.

(When the time comes, she will hesitantly pick dare. Poor girl.)

Word got around fast that a game of Truth or Dare was going on in one of the dorms. Dani had been out for a bike ride to catch a bit of fresh air, and had just gotten back to the Hammel dorms. As she headed back to her own dorm, she passed by a couple of students who were chatting loudly about it. Practically an advertisement. So of course she headed towards room 210 to check it out. After all, it was a fun game and could lead to some good stories for later.

It was clear that the place was crowded; Dani could hear the chatter from down the hall. She gave the door a light knock, trying to be polite, before she turned the doorknob and walked in. It definitely was crowded, and she scanned the common room for a place to sit. There was an open chair, but she decided to plop down on the floor, finding it more comfortable. She found herself sitting next to Levi, who she didn’t know too well, but this was an opportunity to make friends, was it not? “Heya, Levi.” Dani gave him a warm smile.

(Dani will pick dare.)

There were too many people there, and Levi was starting to feel overwhelmed.

"Um, no. Lorenzo's another guy." And he was pretty sure Lorenzo wasn't Asian, so he didn't know how AJ could get them mixed up. Levi wasn't good at putting names to faces either, but that was a bit ridiculous. (Even if he was Chinese with a Hebrew name.)

"And Adrian invited a whole bunch of people to play truth or dare for... well, I dunno what for. I do like ice cream though." Ice cream was good, and so was the general friendliness of all the people he only sort-of knew. This wasn't so bad.

In an attempt to be friendly, he waved at the nervous-looking girl standing around. She looked pretty young, but if she'd been invited to play, it was cool, right? "You can, uh, sit wherever. Find somewhere." Maybe after he'd had his turn, he'd go and grab his desk chair from his room, and maybe Adrians too, to give everyone a spot.

"Uh, hey Danielle. Adrian invited you too?" He was pretty sure the Electrokinetic was older than him, so he didn't know her too well. Still, it was better than sitting near the red-haired witch, Emi. At least he knew what she could do.

Everyone seemed a little antsy, so he decided to push the game along. "Um, I'll go first, since I live here. Noam! Truth or Dare?"

He'd picked on the vampire slayer because he'd seemed the most anxious to start, and because he was pretty sure the loud boy would be willing to do a dare. Levi grinned when the boy picked dare--just like he'd expected--and he threw out the first one he'd thought of when his roommate had mentioned this get-together. "I dare you to write a love letter to one of the teachers and post it on the school's bulletin board. No! One of the trainers!"

Noam snapped, grinning at the younger kid. He was quite excited when Levi had picked him, but he wasn't quite expecting that dare. It wasn't the type of person that would really want to do something as reckless as that-- something that he'd much rather do would include breaking school rules harsher than the one that he'd probably break doing the dare Levi had assigned him. Though, he really couldn't complain, for he was proving his awesomeness in front of everyone.

"I can do that," he replied, smirking. He was already thinking about one- he'd leave it unsigned, of course. That way, whatever trainer got it could be guessing about who wrote the letter. Unfortunately, Noam's handwriting was awful, and quite distinguishable- whoever got the letter would figure it out in a heartbeat.

"Who to? And should I write it now?" he pestered.

"Just give me a sec." Levi hopped to his feet and went to his bedroom. A few seconds later he came back, carrying a notebook and pen, and dragging his desk chair behind him.

The chair he left next to the younger girl he didn't know. At least now she'd have somewhere to sit.

Levi dropped the notebook and pen into Noam's lap, then took his spot on the floor again. "Um, write it to Ms. Sayers? Or Mr. Campbell? It's funnier if it's him because he's married. Then go post it on the board. But you should truth or dare someone else while you're writing it."

Noam grinned. The dare definitely wasn't what he expected, but he'd roll with it. After all, there could be much worse dares- like kissing a trainer. He'd get in trouble for that, well, more so than the note that he'd leave for Mr. Campbell.

He took the pen and began to scrawl out the note, chuckling to himself. He was about a sentence in when he realized that he'd have to dare someone.

"Emilia," he adressed. "Truth or dare?" He was dismayed when she picked truth. "Dude, live a little," he muttered. "But okay. Who in this room would you rather kiss, out of all of us?" He smirked at this, expecting to hear his own name. If he didn't hear his own name, he would actually be quite shocked. But that was just Noam- quote overconfident.

AJ repeated Levi's name to himself a few times trying to commit it to memory. But when the boy mentioned a game of truth or dare, he forgot about that. He had seen other kids at summer camp play the game, but he'd never been involved himself. But it looked like fun, and there was ice cream, and people so why not?

He turned his attention to the girl who sat down next to him, glad that she introduced herself. "Yup, that's me," he answered grinning. "Loren...I mean Levi says it's truth or dare. Do you know how to play?" It might have seemed like an odd question to ask, but AJ was hoping maybe she would explain the rules to him.

When another boy strutted in, introducing himself as Noam, AJ made a mental note to pick dare. He still wasn't exactly sure what that would mean, but if Noam seemed excited about it, then it couldn't be all that bad.

The room was filling up fast and AJ was starting to bounce a little from built up excitement. He had to stop himself from jumping up or shouting when Levi announced they would start the game. And finally he started to understand the rules. Luckily Levi hadn't picked him to go first.

He started to giggle at the first mention of writing a love letter to a trainer. He couldn't help himself. This was really turning out to be a exciting game, and he found himself wondering why he hadn't played before.

As he waited for Emi to answer her truth, he helped himself to some of the ice cream that he had brought. After all, it would be a shame if it started to melt before anyone could enjoy it.

“Yeah I think I know the gist of it” Emi said to AJ’s question. She wasn’t all that shocked to hear that AJ didn’t know how to play truth or dare, honestly if it hadn’t been played in one of the books she’d read a while back she probably wouldn’t either since she usually shied away from things this social. As she was explaining, the room filled up around them.

Emi made a mental note about Noam as he strutted in, and not a positive note at that. She really didn’t like people who were that boisterously confident. After Noam was a shy seeming younger girl, Emi took pity on such a young girl in a room mostly full of teen boys. As Dani, Emi’s roommate and one of her closest friends, came in Emi brightened up and began to feel a little bit more secure in a situation she wouldn’t normally have chosen to be in.

Emi’s secure feeling began to fade as Levi gave Noam his dare, hoping no one would ask her to do something like that. She decided she’d have to pick truth when it was her turn, honesty wasn’t nearly as bad as embarrassing dares, or so she thought. As Levi gave Noam the paper and told him to take his turn Emi tensed up hoping he wouldn’t choose her, and just her luck he did.

Emi was only getting more and more irked by this kid, arrogance topped off with mocking her for her choice, not a good first impression. She was even more annoyed than anything by his question knowing by his attitude that he was expecting to hear his own name, but she wouldn’t be giving him that satisfaction. “Ugh..really?” She asked hoping Noam had been joking. As she looked around at everyone, all but her best friend were younger than her so she knew really no one had a chance but she had to make a choice.

Noam was ruled out from the start, the young girl was much too young, Dani was practically her sister, so that just left Levi and AJ. “Well…I guess…if I have to pick…” Emi paused looking at Dani for reassurance. “I suppose I’d have to say Levi” His chivalry and kindness towards the younger girl was really all that she was basing her answer on, since it was that or a coin flip between him and AJ.


Knowing it was time to ask someone else, Emi turned to the younger girl, someone had called her Sayaka, and told her it was her turn, deciding it was best if she was the one to give her the question or dare. She took a second to come up with a dare and then said "I dare you to..." she cast her eyes around trying to come up with something that wouldn't be pathetic but would also not embarrass the girl too much "...sing your favorite song for all of us." Emi knew it probably sounded lame, especially to the guys, but the girl couldn't be much older than 12 so she didn't think much else would work.

Sayaka, nervously mind, returned the wave that a guy had given her. Levi, she thought his name was? She wasn't entirely sure, having not been listening in on his conversation with the person by him. He told her to take a seat, but...where? She didn't know ANY of these people, so it'd feel awkward to sit next to them. And even more awkward to sit on the ground. So the girl couldn't do anything, in her mind, other than stand there and nervously hold her wrist as she watched the game get started.

The first dare wasn't anything too big, just writing a love letter, but the 11 year old knew she would have trouble going along with that dare. Especially when it came to posting it on the bulletin board...as she thought on that, she watched the boy who had waved to her earlier leave the room, and come back later with a desk chair. "U-Um..." she spoke up, as he walked back to his spot. "Thank you," she spoke with a nervous, friendly smile before sitting down on the chair he had just dragged out for her. Definitely more comfortable than standing was, that was for sure.

The other dares/truths were...nothing much, really, and before she knew it, it was her turn already. Sayaka nervously glanced around to make sure that she was indeed the one being spoken to, and then with a small little gulp, she picked dare. Why? Well, even she herself could not tell you the answer to that question. "My favorite song?" Sayaka queried, frowning as she tried to think.

Everyone was looking at her...and out of the corner of her eye she could swear she saw something floating just a bit, the result of her losing control over her powers. She just had to calm down. Sayaka took a deep breath, and decided. Why not something in Japanese? They wouldn't be able to tell if she messed a word or two up, after all. Of course, there would be no accompanying music, and her voice might not match the original that well...but she would try. Sayaka opened her mouth to sing.

During the entire thing, it might be obvious that her voice was a bit shaky, and every now and again she got a bit tongue-tied and had to redo parts, but she did her best. "D-Dani, right?" Sayaka spoke to the other, seemingly Asian girl. It was moments later when Sayaka asked truth or dare to her, and got a dare answer back. What would be a good dare...? "Give someone a piggyback ride." she decided. It was the best her young mind could come up with, in the midst of all these teenage boys.

[Alex Grayson]

Alex had been looking for David's room. Though, his search was unsuccessful so far- he had failed to remember the number of said room, and therefore had been searching for it with barely any luck. He'd decided to check on the room that had some noise coming from it. He wasn't sure if David would be in there, but it was worth a shot. Peeking in, he searched for his friend, but no such luck.

As of right now, he could probably guess that people would be staring at him and making this situation awkward. Figuring that leaving would make things worse, he'd just have to stay and somehow live through this situation- if he could survive a class, then he could certainly survive this. It looked like truth or dare- which really was not his favorite game at all, he always ended up embarrassing himself. This time, however, he was determined not to.

He sat down wordlessly, looking at everyone else. He was just in time for Sayaka to finish up her song.

“Oh, no. I heard it was an open invite,” Dani bit her lip, “I hope that’s okay.” Although, judging from the amount of people in the common room, she figured she wasn’t the only person who wasn’t invited. She looked around curiously as the game started. Noam seemed confident, to the point of cocky, but it was sort of funny. At least someone was serious about it.

A grin escaped her lips when Levi dared Noam to write a love letter to a trainer. It was a fun one, although Noam seemed to think it wasn't a problem. She just wanted to see the trainer’s reaction more than reading what was actually written in the letter.

Then it was Emi’s turn, and Dani put a hand to her lips at the question, as if protecting her lips. She knew very well that Emilia wouldn’t pick her, but even the idea seemed gross – and she didn’t even have to kiss the person, just say who. She caught Emi’s glance and moved her hand, giving a warm smile. Emi was a bit shy at times, and Dani was surprised she had even shown up to a game of truth or dare – but that would just make it more fun for later.

Soon, a young girl who couldn’t have been older than thirteen was up. She was adorable though, and was glad that Emi had given her an easy-going dare. The poor girl looked scared as it was. At the end of the song, Dani clapped softly. Although the other made a few mistakes, Dani couldn’t help but to think the girl was absolutely adorable – almost like a shy little mouse.

“Un,” Dani grinned, giving a thumbs up. She was surprised that the girl knew her name, but didn’t dwell on it. Dani decided to go with dare, considering it was a bit more fun, and she had a feeling such a young girl wouldn’t dare her to do anything too crazy. “A piggy back ride, eh?” Dani pushed herself to her feet and scanned the room, trying to decide who she should carry. She spotted Alex, who had just walked in. She didn’t quite know him, but didn’t really care. “Oi,” Dani grabbed Alex’s hand and pulled him to his feet, “I hope you like piggyback rides.” Dani flashed a smile and turned her back to Alex, indicating for him to jump on.

While waiting, she decided she better keep the game going. “Hmm, AJ.” She was pretty sure that was his name, for she overheard it earlier, “Truth or dare?” After AJ picked dare, Dani paused for a moment in thought before a light bulb went off in her head. “I dare you to reenact the cheesiest romantic scene in a movie you can think of with someone in the room – and you have to kiss them at the end of it.”
