Mia walked out of the dorm building; she was growing tired of the white walls of her dorm. She was starting to hate the winter break. There wasn’t much to do, at least on her own. In Alaska, she spent most of her free time dog sledding; at least when the dogs were up for it. But here, there wasn’t much to do by yourself, without feeling so utterly alone watching everyone else hang out with friends. She sighed and watched as the warm air from her lungs became cloudy; she grinned at the sight. One would say she did have friends to spend time with; this was true. However, Mia didn’t want to be a burden to anyone; especially not her friends. She didn’t want to seem too clingy. She only had a few close friends, very few actually. But that was okay in Mia’s books. Apart from all of this, she was content on being alone; she was used to it really.
Footsteps trailed to the pond where a layer of ice covered the pond. She sat down in the snow with a huff and crossed her legs. She looked at the frozen over pond; a little depressed not being able to see the Koi swimming. Mia took the strap of her messenger back off her shoulder and went through her bag; taking out her notebook and pencil. She flipped to an empty page, writing Dear Ma, and Grandma on the top of the page. She continued to write about resent events since the last time she wrote them. About Cameron, giving only sketchy details about what happened between them, and about decorating her common room, Liam’s apartment, and his music store, and how she wished she were able to help them decorate the house.
