I considered putting up an 'ask me' type of thread, but there's a lot of those and if I wanted to answer a lot of questions I'd just call my grandmother. So here I'm going to do the asking. You do the telling.

Should I learn how to drive?

Do you want to get laid? Yes. Being able to drive is a way of getting around. Plus it is a way for the police to identify your body in case you... you know were brutally murdered or beaten to death.

Yes.

Pilot Ridge is small enough not to have a reliable and effective public transportation system. Yet, it is large enough that walking everywhere isn't feasible, particularly during the winter months, which are long and harsh in Vermont.

Driving is a beneficial skill that will allow you to reach any destination you require, in and out of town. It will also give you the freedom to do so on your own schedule, instead of having to rely on others.

Ms. Jale - I don't exactly know the connection between knowing how to drive and getting laid, and I don't care to. And I do have a State of Vermont ID card to assist in identifying my horrendously slain body, though I'd hope that I was killed in the midst of a robbery so that money was a motivator rather than just poor luck, and in that case having an ID card or a license would not help as my wallet would hopefully be gone. But getting around... that I can see.

Dr. Neville - You bring up a valid point, as I have biked in the winter in heavy snow and while it brings that target heart rate in seconds it also, as Mr. Xu says, sucks balls. But that brings up another problem I shall address shortly.

Mr. Xu - I take it you can't drive either?

Next question: As one who knows very little about cars, what car would be best for a Vermont winter? One with four wheel drive is all I know. Or one with sled runners that comes with horses. And since that's sort of a stodgy question, here's an alternate: what should I bring to the staff lounge this week?

Hey Ferris.

For cars, I have a Jeep Wrangler. It works perfect for winter. My husband has a Sonata... thing, which seems to work okay, but he's used to driving in Antarctic weather. Four wheel drive is a must if you aren't used to it.

As for the staff lounge... anything sweet. Please?
