So the question really was, when wasn't Oriel trying to take a nap? Because of course that was what he was doing. The auditorium wasn't the place to be anymore, since that was likely to end with him jumping heralds with his new dance teacher. Not that he wasn't enjoying it and was even slightly interested(though he's never admit it) but Oriel's daily nap-time was non-negotiable in his 'professional' opinion.
So he was in a tree.
Like a cat.
Stomach down across the branch with his face resting on the back of his hand and his arm hanging loosely off the side. He wasn't on the lowest branch, but on the next highest. It gave him a pretty good view of the pond area. Plus it kept him out of visual range from most of the other people there, who were generally far away enough to not be too bothersome.
It wasn't a bad place.
Maybe.
Actually he probably should've thought this through more.
Oriel was drifting somewhere along the plane between reality and dreamland when he could feel his limp body becoming caught in the tractor beam that was the earth's gravitational pull. He felt himself start to slide. And slide. And while his brain was trying to wake up before the his approaching doom got too close, it wasn't until he was actually falling that he snapped awake and his "oh, my god I'm falling!" reflexes flailed out to catch the branch with one hand and one leg.
Nor did he notice that there was a girl standing almost directly beneath him and was just inches away from getting kicked with his other swinging leg. "Shit..." he grunted as he tried to maintain a grip on the branch.
